Nala, thanks for starting the strategy thread!

PnP: um, in a word: YES! Sewinglady's farm has been filling the barn all year...this year I'm aiming for the top 1000. I won't be devastated if I don't make it, because I am not going to completely empty my barn for this, but we'll see how far I go.

This farm and dumbunny are in it for the mariachi village upgrades. Have no intention of reaching even the bottom of the list.

Here's the thing - this event uses the event field - there's no harm/no foul if you do what you can/reap what you can. You don't have to donate anything beyond getting whatever reward your aiming for. There are some nice prizes available even at lower level donations.

    Thanks, Nala!

I'll go for the mariachi drapes and maybe for some few boxes at the end and while doing that I'll cheer on you, SL, and on everyone else

that will be competing! As a hoarder, i congratulate each and everyone of you :D

Lol, I usually like event field events, but this one looks like a chore - especially with a 6hr crop and only water and manure. Oh, well, can't hurt to see how far I get, but no way I'm going for the top spots! Good luck to every one and happy harvesting!

For newer players, does any remember what the donations were last year to stay in the top. Not for the feinthearted. I certainly will not empty my barn but just do a bit to get some of the prizes.

Go Brooky! I was looking at last year's thread and was reminded how you spilled a drink on your laptop at a very inopportune time! Please keep it dry this year!xD

:D:D Nala, Thanks starting this thread, This is Annual Mega Event;):p

David is Right to say crazy insane about donations required in Top 1000 last year:D:p:wuerg:;) If you look at the Maths/Statistics you are looking and required and prepared at least 10 Billion of Barn Stock just to be in Top 1000

David did make it into Top 1000 last year , I too will support Sewinglady and Brookeham , I remember Brookeham spill drink over Laptop Good Memory David xDxD

Now they have expanded to Top 4000 which give us more chance get Bronze Reward Pack those finishing 2501-4000

But if you look at Bronze Reward it is not much difference for those only doing the 3 Booth Rewards but huge requirements of Barn Stocks donations , also still have risks elements of not making into Top 4000

Do not underestimated Roughly what is required many famers do stock up and hoarding their barn all year Especially For The Fall Barn Draining event.

The Official Statement of this event is implying much stricter screening script on fair use policy only for those who have multiple farms, Also we have lost many farmers whom have stopped playing, The numbers of newer farmers has become fewer over the years too ;)

    Good Luck Everyone :inlove::inlove::inlove:

I see we cannot even give Cinnamon to our friends and neighbours. Apart from Toolboxes, is there anything that we can give to those going for the big one? :music:

Last year, sewinglady's farm made it to the second tier. BUT, I did NOT move crops and/or other items from the baby farms or the fallow farms to that farm. In fact, I'm more likely to move stuff FROM sewinglady's farm to the baby farms to bolster their barn contents during the rare times they do an event (because none of them make products). And the fallow farms are, well, fallow; so they don't farm at all, plus NONE of those farms are on the same server as this farm, sewinglady or dumbunny. Somehow I'm doing something backwards there. Just so you know (considering the message posted this morning).

I'm off to get started on the day's farming...

PS: since we can't gift neighbors anything for the events (there's no drop in the other one)...I suggest the following: pheromones or toolboxes if you don't have anything else - my farms are always happy to get those. Or, if you've got a lot of baked goods, etc. you can gift those. I often gift tiki totems to newer farms (since they cannot make or buy them nor receive one from the CR). Also the edibles that give decent EP are nice to send. Thing about those items, even if your farm can't use it and you receive it, you can sell it at the market (well, except for the tiki totems).

When I'm such a "rotten head", I'd better ask my "wiser" self that:

does it EVEN matter how, i.e. with what size fields, that cultivation area is filled in the extra area, because isn't the yield the same in fields of all sizes?

Only Water and manure are used less the bigger the fields are...?

The only other advantage to using as many 2x2 plots as the field will hold vs all 1x1 plots is that when you replant your seeds, you use fewer with 2x2 plots so you have more to donate to the cause.

Anyone tried to see if it was better for drops from the event field to use only 1x1 instead of the mix of 2x2, 1x2 & 1x1?

I haven't. Since I'm only doing the main parts of the event and not participating in the Top lists, I'm using the 2x2 filled in with smaller plots as I have no use for the pumpkin juices. I already have enough cinnamon sticks and just need to grow the fountain grass. I'm sure you would get better drops if the full field were in 1x1, but as I am using manure on the field, I've opted for larger plots and sell my surplus manure. I was going for 7k earlier this morning :)
