Nala777's guidance is excellent. I rushed and opened almost all the boxes, now I need a bunch of keys. I have to wait and I don't like waiting, but there's nothing I can do.

 

By my accounts (which are not reliable), I'll have enough keys to open the top on the 24th. Until then, i'm collecting cookies with trees,

stables and workshops. The contrary of what i should be doing to complete the FSQ's

 

I pretty much did what Nala777 is showing above on this farm. And started that way with SL's, but then completed the entire bottom (save for the very bottom box which requires a donation of 5 keys and the reward is useless at this point). So both farms have 18 keys in inventory as of now. Should be able to access the mountain top with this evening's harvest of keys. Just keep on slogging along.

The baby farms are sorta doing this event. As in, when I have time (insert maniacal laughter here) I am harvesting those farms (at least once a day for now). Whatever they reap is gravy.

 

Hidden rewards:
On the North Pole board, in the top row of Stage 1, you can win a bonus chest at the duck manure super fertilizer.
On the Snowy Pines board, part 2, the 9th BTP space (top row, in front of the goal) contains 1 party spin.
In the Snowy Pines board, part 2, the 4th farm blade space above hides another farm blade.

I finally got my twenty keys,
mountain top opened with delighted ease
But a few steps up, my eyes are sore
No no NO! I need twenty more!

While playing the mini games, the puzzles repeat. So I would recommend taking a pic to refer to...so as to go quicker and move through. I tend to get the cardinal almost every time with puzzle and tree for others. Good luck!

SL's farm reached the top of the mountain last night, too. And then discovered that after a few steps we need another 20 keys. This is the most appropriate poem/post you have ever made, David. Dirty words came out my mouth, too.

Our only saving grace is that this quagmire goes on for another 14 days.

I got there today, and already knew what was coming next. I need nineteen more now.
Getting that CR is definitely an uphill task.

PS: ps, I missed the fine prints at first. As PM has rightly said the quagmire goes on for another couple of weeks Sigh.

It is easier than I thought. I put a lot of harvest bonuses to good use and I'm just about done with all the plants and about one third of the firs and cardinals are booked. The rest will be easier to obtain once the minigames give more stables and trees.

The hardest part does seem to be waiting for the keys and other drop items to drop. I put up a lot of trees and stables in the hopes of getting more festive cookies. The magic trees give out ball ornaments which seem completely useless now that I have opened everything on the bottom. Or is there something I have missed?

The minigames sometimes freeze and I have to shut the whole thing off to get out of them.

 

After my 100% Overal Bonus ran out, I put in a +200% Overal Bonus - and then won another in a Crate (which I will save)! I also won +100% Bonus on the Wheel AND I also finished the Holly so got the +3 Plant Bonus which I will apply at my next harvest and will be getting 11 per 1x1 plot.

I will nuke the plots after harvesting to get an extra harvest in today (only enough SG to do just one!) so I am expecting to finish the (Mountain Bottom) crops tomorrow then, if necessary, I will carry on working towards getting the last Ball Ornaments (only 100 needed). The keys are the main issue at the moment but once the Ball Ornaments are done, I can get 6 keys a day, by Friday I should be able at least access the Mountain Top! Phew!
I don't mind the three week event but all those Balls and Keys!
Oh well, upwards and onwards - quite literally!

How i come on the 2 part, the top of the mountain? i filled every step where the asked the keys, and now i read here that i need 20 keys is that correct?
I reading nothing about that in the faq? i have now 0 keys

 

You can continue packing by delivering 20 keys, and if I'm not mistaken, you'll need another 20 keys for the 13th package at the top of the mountain.

 

Oh, well, no monotony for Farmerama players this X-Mas! After all those crops, balls, cookies, cardinals, trees, we'll have a timed quest to keep us busy and glued to the game

I'm waiting for keys like everyone else. I opened the top of the mountain last night so I need 20 keys to move on. I am finished with candy canes, holly, ornaments and Korean fir trees.

My plan is to continue to grow stables for the festive cookies to reduce the timers. Once the keys are done, I will use the timers to reduce the candy apples so I can play enough games for the gear coins in the event shop for the permanent stable and tree.

6 keys per day means I will need to wait a few more days to advance. In the meantime, I am absolutely enjoying the winter graphics watching it snow on the farm as well as the beautiful red cardinals.

The cardinal is our state bird so I'm happy to see it on the farm.

You didn't need to fill all the steps which asked for keys on the bottom of the mountain, only one to start. After that you could work around the squares which need keys.
You have plenty of time to get more keys, though. You can get 6 keys a day if you accelerate the key squares, so in a week you will have all the keys you need. Just make sure you get enough Festive Cookies.

 

To get to the Mountain Top, you need to select it (thanks *WisdomTree*):

You will need 20 keys to wrap the first box there. Also, another 20 keys will be needed at box 13 (see my first post on page 1). To complete the Mountain Top you will need:

36375 Candy Cane Callas
40 Silver Keys
80 Festive Cookies
