Winter Lollapalooza

As usually, I take 2 Piccolos and say "plaah" to other prizes, I get 1+1 basic´s, Korean Fir and Cardinal, that is enough for me !

 

I'm afraid I have to give up. I need 16 keys. no cookies to speed things up and deliver them to the boxes.

 

With today's collection and initial harvest, I had enough gear coins for the cardinal nest. Still need another harvest of candy canes for the CR. Not sure if I can get enough of needed items for the final giver, but won't worry. Like others, I shall be glad to see this one over. Wouldn't mind another iteration of the event, but as a stand-alone and not in conjunction with holidays and other events.

Thanks to everyone who very patiently shared many tips as your contributions made it possible to advance and gave a direction to follow.

Update: Used subsequent harvest to get the CR, so if one is late to the event and is diligent, you also may have a chance. I'll continue to plant candy canes and try to get enough gears for the final CR giver. Will see how it goes - no longer watching the clock. Wish everyone still trekking up the hill success.

 

You do not need gears to buy that giver, you need trivia coins. You'll get them from ?-tiles of both board games.

 

MeadowCrossing: Which giver do you need? As said above you can buy it in the shop under "Farm Items". My last EP item was the Cookie Station and came with the last donation of Firs. I suppose it all depends which you finished the quickest.

When I started this post, I was thinking everyone would be chasing the same thing but maybe not ...

 

I am also close but not going to make even something of the end prizes for the effort of the last 3 weeks. Still needing some gears for at least the cardinal stable but looks like I won't make it. All the work and no new stable or tree for me.... and the CR was never attainable for me as the keys needed to open the box blocking the trail is too far away. Thank you all for the strategy tips, some helped to get as far as I did so appreciate the effort of all of you.

Update: With the help of some great neighbors with gifts of festive cookies and about 30 hours left, I might get a Cardinal Stable! Hopefully!

@-Päärynä11 Lol, yes, you're right...I knew what I needed, but keep getting mixed up between the time I look at the shop and come to post. I need to learn how to use the split screen function on the PC! Too much going on still in RL to really focus, so I am not complaining about not reaching all the goals...surprised how far I got!

 

Wow, what a disappointing event. To put in that much time and effort only to discover that at level 253 I must have made some strategy errors to not even come close to getting the amounts needed for CR. Not from fir/cardinals nor from Trivia.

 

With a little over twenty hours to go, it is time to convert those hard earned trivia points and gear coins!

I am pleased this event is ending to save the poor hedgehog from the constant ignominy of being detrimentally compared to the moose and reindeer (and salamander?). In England tunnels were put under roads for hedgehog access
and then they found that they needed to widen these because if two met nose to nose, they didn't have a
'reverse gear'! (I wonder if they pass on the left or the right!?)​

 

I count myself lucky that I have a Cardinal nest and a Korean Fir (I suspect they will be used for a future task), however this "game" seems to be once again so imbalanced.
I finished the Holly last year (I can say that now!) and have loads in the barn sitting idle, but I still need a whole bunch of Trivia tokens to be able to collect the Frost Metal Band, and it looks like I will not make it in time :-(

 

Final update: Thanks to many very kind neighbors, I got enough cookies to shorten time and managed to play enough games to earn enough trivia points to get the final needed giver: Frost Metal Band. Today was a very busy day in RL so the end of the event for me - just about my bed time - is bittersweet. I am very grateful for the support of friends and neighbors, but as I read comments, feel there was not much joy experienced in the current iteration of this event. I sincerely hope BP's game strategy team will take into consideration all comments for future events.

Here's my list of items remaining from the event:

Holly: 11096; Winter Cardinal: 684; Gear: 4; Cookies: 4; Trivia: 6

Alas, despite checking multiple times, I could not find anything to which to donate the trees or birds.

 

By some luck I managed to finish this event and used the gear coins for - 2 base cardinals + 2 orange upgrades + 2 base firs. It has taken a phenomenal amount of work along with buffs + boosters. My barn is empty of resources! I can't imagine how anyone with a busy life and family commitments could get anywhere near finishing it?
On the plus side I do have a spare cardinal and fir tree to pass on when they can be exchanged through Trade & Gift.

Last 3 box 9 minutes before end, over 800 Ball Ornaments left and 32 Keys... I so so hurry to get those

Get ovet 5500++ Super-Crow and over 1200++ Suzy-Super-Crow, 2 Korean Firs, 2 Piccolos and CR with givers.
In the beginning it looked "not so good at all" !
