  2. This is a terrible event. I've been playing for years and finished all the events, but this is the first time I haven't understood anything from an event and can't play it.

    Pros:
    • The paint jar flowers are lovely
    • No milling! Yippee!
    • Crafting the cards in the event window is very nice
    • Crops are the same duration
    • Card games are familiar and fun
    • We can select different paths on the tree to reach our individual goals
    • Drop rate seems to be good
    Cons:
    • The icons for the event shop, craft cards and alchemist brew block some of the view of the tree
    • The amount of crops needed for the cards is quite high and unless you have a crop bonus running, it takes more than one harvest to play a card game
    • Eight hour crops and having to wait more than 1 harvest to play a card game makes progress slow.
Overall, I am enjoying the event even with the cons and appreciate the efforts the Team makes to introduce new events

puppiesandponies said it all very well above. I would like to add that while this event is actually quite nice on its own merits, it seems a bit stingy and mean for a birthday event. We've all made it quite clear, with regards to the last few looooong events, that this is not something of which we are fans. I realize that events are months in the making, and therefore what's in the pipeline has to be presented before change can be made, but it just seems that both the Christmas and Birthday events were, well, not much in the way of a gift. The prizes, though, are quite nice, it's just a bit of a process to get there. I threw tons of resources at this in the first few days because we had a real threat of lowing power for days, (thankfully has not happened YET) and so I have had a very pleasant event, but now that I am back to "normal" farming, once again it is like pulling teeth.

Aside from that, I quite like everything about this event. As said above, I appreciate new styles of events, and this one, done in a more traditional fashion, would definitely be something I'd like to see again!

Yes, I like that the Card Crafting has replaced the need to use the Mill - especially the second option where I am combining the two event crops, where otherwise this would need the Mill(s).

Now that the shock of the initial impact of the scope of this event has worn off, I am enjoying the complexity and I appreciate the work that has gone into designing this event. There are a few display issues - I want to go back and play some more but all the choices show no picture/recycle/purple/green so I have to log out. But overall, this is fun!

This is actually one of my favorite new events. At first I was thinking not to even do this one, it seemed like a TON of crops for just one field. But I wanted to try and play the card game, so I started it. And just kept on going. I really enjoy playing the cards, and you left us a lot of choices of how to proceed through the prizes. I have both cloud rows and still have a lot left to do without worrying if I'll make the cloud row. It does have one annoying flaw, every time I play a game, I have to refresh the game before I can see the game board again. Its doable, but a bit annoying. I thought the prizes are very nice, especially the cloud row with the birthday crate. I really like that we can make the cards right in the game and not have to back out to the mill every time. Thanks!

Congrats to those who were able to stick with it!
I had to stop and return to regular farming as I fell behind knowing I would not fulfill needed requirements.

Now that I have got used to the cards, I feel that these suits need names:- pumpkin, palm, barn and star!( the last one was a toss up between star and 'fat-man with a dartboard' but I deemed that too long!)
As you can tell, I have put "minutes -of-thought" into thisxD

Oh and by-the-way, well done to all who put effort into this ! You others, who were lazy;- don't take any credit - You know who you are!!xD

@teeceebeemee I almost sprayed my pc screen with coffee, you've just made my day with that comment! xD

I liked the card game even if it's easy to do. It was so relaxing not having a timed mini game this time around! Loved the idea of the family tree too, it made it different than the "follow a road" type of event we usually get. Also it is much appreciated that we do not need to play all the mini games to get the cloud row.

I'd suggest that instead of of small green checkmark appering after one mini game as played that the entire boader of whashould be the family portait turned green, I had a hard time locating all the checkmarks to see which mini game I'd jumped over. Also, I would turn around te requirements for crafting the decks of cards: the drop should have been used to craft the 10-king decks instead and not the Ases' one.

Just a rhetorical question tho: why should we play the 6/7 Star Coins mini games when we can player over and over the 8 Star Coins mini game with the same amount of drops needed??!!

I finished this event and though I did enjoy it, I found the card games very time consuming. The crop and drop (especially the latter) requirement was very high and beyond a lot of farmers' reach without a lot of SG and SSG - and little sleep! :inlove:

I like the new type of play but I think the requirements may well put people off if it comes round again. I was away for a week during the event and I just kept growing (using comfort fields) and collecting until I got home and could make more headway, never expecting to be able to complete it. :p

Overal, there were many positives as pointed out by others here, particularly in puppiesnponies post - I especially like no milling and being able to craft cards as we go along, knowing what we need for each game. :music:
Well done Devs for always trying something new even if it does seem as if we don't appreciate it, believe me, we do! :D

I agree with the majority of pros and cons already mentioned.

I would have like the mouse over of the prizes, to actually reflect the prizes being awarded instead of the game difficulty showing.
The game difficulty was all ready represented by the 3 bars in the small square and clicking on that brought up the needed items for that game. At first I needed to keep clicking between the givers to figure which ones were which by pictures alone.

I thought the drop amount per game was a bit on the high side. Perhaps the drops required could be adjusted by the difficulty level of each game. It seemed a waste to spend 155 drop items for an easy game.

There was a wide variety of nice prizes to choose from and they were offered early in the event.

I as well, liked the design of the tree.
Scrolling up and down the tree was annoying at times, as it never seemed to stop where I needed it to.

I found the card games to be relaxing, not having a time limit to them.
The card designs were fun. but the suit character on the cards were hard for me to make out at times.

The Solo King and Double King side games were appreciated for the Alchemist Brews.

Thanks for the new ideas, I find them refreshing & I'm having fun with this event.

I got the 2 cloud rows- yay?? But it looks like I need givers for both rows so 2 more incomplete cloud rows to add to my all too many incomplete cloud rows. I do not like the tree as I can not tell which way to go for all the needed givers. I will be nowhere near the high required amount of crops to play the several games left to get to those givers. I should have past on this event as I dislike incomplete rows that do nothing for me but remind me of the high requirements for these cloud rows. I am upset with myself for using the SG and SSG to get to the 2 cloud rows and not being able to fill them which I suspected so should have passed on this event.

The card game was ok- the double click to put a card to the pile was wonky- worked sometimes and other times not at all so click and drag. It is a small issue but most solitaire games the double click works.

Have no idea what the alchemist brew was for and it made me question if I should play the free games as a warning popped up about excess brew being lost. I never had to use this brew....
