I've upgraded all the tentacles and now have 192/290 points. I've enjoyed the event and have gotten some nice prizes from harvesting the tentacles. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the kelp with water and manure are longer than the tentacles which means babysitting that field. It would be nice if it was timed together

 

Yup, I totally agree, timing the kelp, sweet rose and tentacle is a real pain. I'm also done with upgrading the tentacles, now to make sure that I harvest everything in 4h. It's gonna be a short call to get to the finish... My main farm is flooded with extra givers from the tentacle, such shame that I do not hav the space for them!

 

I didn't get any extra givers from the tentacles so good for you. BP continues to award givers that are really long. I don't mind cloud rows that are long, but I do like my farm to have givers that can be harvested at least once per day.

 

I am at level 251/290. I have all 8 tentacles up-graded to level 4 and now I am growing kelp. And when I have 280 kelp and 32 Heartstones I collect 8 Fancy Quills, and AFTER harvesting the tentacles, I give them each 1 Fancy Quill and then I can harvest them all in 3 hours instead of 4!
That is the plan I have been using and it is working for me! Good luck everyone. I am rather enjoying this event!

Edit: I have now reached 299/290 so I am done and I have the CR up and running and the piccolo box! I no longer need event drops from either event so please send to those who may need them! Thanks and good luck!

Maybe this has been asked before, but I wanted to know how each tentacle counts.

I presume each tentacle collected counts as one; do the fully upgraded tentacles then count as three?
(Hope that makes sense!!)

Northy posted this in his strategy FAQs, so your comment is correct (at least that's how I understand it, too!)

Players will get points (tasks) by harvesting tentacles:
basic tentacle: 1 point/task
level 1 tentacle: 1 point/task
level 2 tentacle: 2 points/tasks
level 3 tentacle: 3 points/tasks

Just so people can know: just one quill per tentacle can be used at a time, reducing the cooldown time for harvsting the tentacle from 4 hours to 3 hours. You can use the quill at any moment, ex: if the tentacle has a 1h20m cooldown time left, using the quill will bring it down to just 21m.

 

I have the cloud row on this farm! SL's farm is all done with the prizes, but still collecting them at their appointed time - more nice goodies is more nice goodies! If there's a lesson in this it's to read the FAQ carefully and all the way through. Heavy sigh.
