I'll admit to not being a huge fan of these type of events, but play guides by some really fantastic farmers (Nordais!) make things much easier! I did complete this one and enjoyed it, mostly. The graphics, as always, are stunning. Prizes were good and I enjoyed the opportunity to double many of them, although the mechanics there are a bit confusing, and the arrows don't always make things clear. But that's a old-brain problem, not a design flaw! I did think that tying this to SO MUCH breeding was a bit over the top. I know, it was only the last race, not needed for, well, anything essential, but still - for people with FOCD (which we don't hear a lot about anymore, I think because many of the players who suffered from it have quit playing once it became so much more challenging to complete EVERYTHING)... as a long time player, I had plenty of resources to throw at all aspects of this event, which makes it so much more fun for me. And I tend to agree with statements that we don't need to cater completely to newer players, and there are SO many features that make advancement in the game much faster than it used to be, but it just seems there are NO events that are geared toward getting new people hooked! Those of us who have been here for ages know that it isn't just the game that keeps us here, it's also the sense of belonging, whether that is via communication on the forum, or through DMs, or just recognizing names that do post on the forum... it's more than just the facts of the game, and the facts of the game are getting harder and harder to achieve. I would like to see more goals that can be accomplished while doing regular playing, rather than what seems to be more and more activities designed to weed out all but the most dedicated players.

-matselleste- very eloquently said everything I would like to say. I'll just add a few personal observations based on personal situation. While I do not have her number of years or experience in the game, I can say FOCD is alive and well with me...which is one reason I stopped doing events several times over the past months. It just became too challenging for me with my RL situations to understand all the aspects/mechanics/etc. on my own. Without the amazing posts by (mostly) Northy, helpful tips from players like illy and chamomile, and comments from fellow players, I never would have accomplished what I have insofar as events go.

I felt the rewards were good (got a Trapdoor Spider from one wonder stable and a Spring tree from wonder tree!) and two of a giver I never heard of. I would prefer a more relaxed playing style and simplified, easy to understand FAQs. Maybe rotate events through a challenge level from easy to hard to give everyone an opportunity to realistically achieve goals on their own time. I imagine RL is affecting many players of all ages and in most geographic locations. Having a place like this to come for all the reasons -matselleste- mentions is a really good draw and incentive to play.

Kudos to all our Mods for their assistance with myriad issues. You are much appreciated!

I did do this event and completed it. I would agree to everything said already. I found it really difficult to see what I was supposed to do, how I could get the prizes I wanted - I missed some because I thought they were the next ones along. Probably me but I see I am not the only one. :p

One thing that puzzled me, the FAQs stated that we had to finish the first five races to unloce Race 6. I started doing a race and noticed that I was nearly out of Fuel Cans when I know I should have had lots. Realised I was actually doing Race 6 and I was using Luv Fuel! Don't know how I opted for it but I finished it. Race 5, however, was padlocked until I finished all the other races. Curious, nobody else seemed to have this problem. :music:
Not sure how you could improve this event, things definitely need to be clearer. :)
