City Tasks

Do we actually lose the items we harvest to fulfill a task? Regular or masterclass? I haven't actually checked. I've completed the second set of masterclass challenges on this farm, but SL's farm has to harvest 13 belted galloways on the main farm, so when those are ready to harvest I'm going to see how many are in inventory BEFORE and AFTER the harvest to see if the 13 are given unto the abyss of all things harvested to satiate BP or if they go into inventory. This experiment may greatly color my continued participation in this folly.

Last couple days have been crazy for me. This morning, I had zero time to farm. Just now getting around to doing what I can in between loads of laundry.

 

Thank everyone for their comments especially Puppies. I have not started it and now I shall not bother. Does anyone know how to get rid of that annoying popup? Good luck to those who continue, others can join me for morning coffee, kettle is on now.

Half way through my first cup of coffee. Today is supposed to be my sorta 'down day' because my friend comes over and we watch our favorite TV shows together. But first, I have to run across town to the in-laws' and run a couple errands. Oh, and the last load of laundry is in the dryer right now. And, I can't remember what comes after the and.

Okay, last night, I harvested SL's belted galloways. The 13 of them needed to fulfill the masterclass step went into the barn. So it just counts them and says "yup, this farm grew them" and they go in the inventory. Whew. If we're going to jump through their silly hoops at least we should get to keep what we reap. (Yes, David...it rhymes.)

 

Just completed Project Level 3 six Master Class tasks. This was the most easy (and quickest) level of the three. It took me 14 hours and I only needed 10PF to complete the last task!

1/6: Harvest 14 workshops on Green Meadow - EP reward
2/6: Use 51 manure on the Glade - 2 mulch reward (I only have 9 plots on the Glade so I planted cress over and over using manure to speed it up )
3/6: Start two productions in the Converter - country coins reward
4/6: Harvest 47 Moringa Pod on the Plantation - 2PF reward (I used four XXL Moringa trees with mulch and SSG)
5/6: Harvest 190 bamboo on the Plantation - 8 SG reward
6/6: Harvest 5 Shy Crocodile in the Breeding Pen - 4 SSG reward. (I used four purple pheromones to speed it up plus one red pheromone for a skip and 5 x4 (20) Swamp Crocodiles) I was lucky to have enough Swamp Crocs to do the five breedings. Because I wanted to finish and not have to deal with it tomorrow, I also bred 5 times from my stock of 18 Shy Crocodiles. I did the extra (unnecessary) breeding of Shy Crocodiles based on my experience of levels 1 and 2. Maybe it was a coincidence, or better yet, maybe BP is listening to our comments regarding the high cost of breedings from levels 1 and 2. Completion reward for level 3 tasks is 35PF!

Hope everyone else is also easily able to complete their tasks.

 

I'm really enjoying this new addition to the game. Although the daily projects timer is off for me.
The new Masterclass is my favorite! I just wish there wasn't so much time before reset.

 

I've enjoyed playing this quite a bit, but the amount of times I run into "harvest item x" tasks where the crop, tree, animal or product I'm supposed to harvest is one I haven't unlocked yet is making this rather unplayable for me.
It'd be fantastic if the game checked if we can actually manage to finish the task at hand before setting it. I'm perfectly willing to put some effort in, but getting hold of ~240 golden bananas in a hurry is in no relation to the prizes offered, particularly if it's for something I'm not particularly interested in.
As it is - it was fun while it lasted. I did finish all three levels, I think that'll have to do. (I'm not rearranging my whole farm thrice for the first three tasks to find out I can't play the fourth.)
Do have tons of fun if you're playing though. I can definitely see the appeal if you have all (or most) things unlocked on Baha anyway.

 

Not sure I want to speak too loudly about this, but the Daily projects sometimes get completed with actions not on the text. For example, today the task was to Use feed in 2 stables on: Any playfield. I harvested and put in a new crop and the task was completed per the popup. I did NOT use any feed within the time that this task was active.

I thought I had noticed this previously, but didn't pay close attention.

 

I had a similar experience when several tasks are filled at the same time such as when I have to begin two breedings and use two PF on any field. Since we use PF for breeding, starting the two breedings satisfies both tasks. Not complaining at all especially as the Master Class tasks often ask for specific breedings which use more than the 2PF/breeding as I never get the correct/needed result the first try.

2026.05.21. Update on Master Class rewards: My latest Master Class completion reward was a Baba Yaga Hut!

 

Is anyone else ready to give up on this entire endeavor? I keep mixing up the green meadow and the magical glade. I just harvested a bazillion hand fans on the green meadow only to discover I needed to grow them on the magical glade, so they didn't count.

WHY am I still doing this? For 15 power feed (the immediate task at hand) and 15 barnyard bills (the overall reward for finishing all 6 masterclass steps). That's it? That's pffft. I'm about to be done with this.

 

I'm asking myself the same question. Sometimes the grand prize is terrible. I just finished a sequence for 42 farm coins. Why did I do that? I already have 50-some thousand farm coins.

 

I'm still enjoying it, but agree the steps can be tricky and sometimes the rewards are minable; I learned early on to triple check what and where I should perform a task. My latest set starting off with a bang as I need to breed 5 circus bears for the final task and I never get breeding tasks done the first attempt. I guess they suite my playing style atm. I don't feel pressure as I do when I participate in an event. My final reward last week was a muntjac stable which I already have, but now there's one if someone needs for G&T Final reward this week is 30 SSG!

 

I realy enjoy the tasks set in both City Tasks and Masterclass. I agree that I too check and double check (and triple check mostly!) where the item must be planted/harvested. I like the randomness of these events and have managed to maintain continuuity from the start for the Masterclass though had one blip at the very beginning for the City Tasks.

As for the rewards, I do find that some prizes are a bit mwah but then one prize was 100 SG, not to be sniffed at and eventually I won a Stub-Toed Toad - happy with that. Another prize was a Baba Yaga Hut.

But I do think it is dependent on your way of farming. I find it gives me a little bit of variety - I used to just farm, do events, farm, rinse and repeat. Now I check out what I need to do for the day and adjust my plans for my farm. I used to get the Masterclass done in a day or two, now, if I have the time to spare, I may extend it to suit my current farm projects.
Being a long time player, this has spiced up the game for me a bit.

 

I enjoy the variety of tasks. I have only had to swap out a couple of them since we started this type of activity.

I want to make sure others don't make the same mistake that I did. My object was to obtain so many Parrot Feathers on a specific Baha field. On that field was 2 Parrot Feather Trees. These DID NOT COUNT towards the Masterclass. I had to put in parrot feather workshops to get past that specific request.

For the daily tasks, I have had a situation where the request was to "use feed in 2 stables on: Any playfield". I harvested the field of crops, put in a new crop and watered it. Then POOF, the tasks was completed. I think I have had this happen for this request a couple of times now. Not complaining, just observing that this one might be coded incorrectly and it is to our benefit.

 

I have not yet come to a task that asks for something, like Parrot Feathers or a specific number of animals to be harvested and then find I had to a) use the actual pen or b) harvest each one manually, think I have been lucky. I always try the easy way first and so far so good.

As Jarrow says, sometimes a quest is completed and I haven't actually done anything! This happens most frequently with Masterclass "fill a customer's order". I just go into EV and open up where to fill orders and the quest has completed. Also, like Jarro, I am so not complaining!
My least favourite quests are those in EV as sometimes they are just not easily do-able but mostly I manage.

 

I really enjoy this new feature of the game (as stated above). It has made me more aware of things in the game...as in name of all fields, or what is a converter. LOL
I still haven't figured out the timer on the daily projects. I wake up to 1.5 hours left
then it reverts to 22.5 hours....no matter if I've completed tasks or not.be.
What I do not like is asking for breeding outside of a BBD. Another is asking for things on main farm during an event on main field.

When a new task is about to come up, I do leave fields open to see what request on what field it will be.

As illy said, some of the rewards are great!

You do have the option to swap (once) with 6 PF, it depends how much breeding needs to be done - and, of course, the next option may be worse!

Me, I just do the breeding. I always try to fill my motel during HDD and if I am asked to do breeding with Daily Tasks, I harvest however many places are needed and then refill the requested amount - only costs (usually) 4 PF. With Masterclass, it normally wants specific animals bred so, again, I harvest enough to place the number required (usually 5) and hope for no skips! Just cost 10 PF - if no skips!

I think that us old-timers (game-wise that is, well, apart from my case!) have got into the mindset of not "wasting" precious resources but these tasks seem to have freed me from being so rigid in my farming.

I don't like it when I am asked to spend BBs so I usually just spend one to complete that task unless there is a task that I really can't or don't want to do, then I use BBs to swap that one - but it also completes the task to spend BBs.

 

This quest requires parrot feathers, and if you have a tree and collect the feathers from there, the quest won't be valid; only collecting them in the workshop is valid. I just wanted to give you a little information.
