*creaking door*Good eeevvvveeening, boils and ghouls! Welcome, welcome, to the fabulous forum Halloween costume contest! What? You do not know of this?! It’s really quite simple. Create a costume for Halloween, and post an image of it on this thread. You may use any medium you like for your creation, such as Photoshop or Photobucket. Handmade entries are allowed - cut and paste magazine pictures to make a costume collage, let your artistic juices flow by drawing a fanciful ensemble to amaze all, or whatever strikes you creative fancy. Then simply take a photo and post it to the thread. You may also post photos of real costumes, keeping in mind faces must not be shown to comply with forum rules. There are 4 categories to win in; scariest, funniest, and cutest will be determined by an anonymous panel of judges. Farmer’s choice will be chosen by you, the farmers. Competition rules are simple. Each farmer is allowed one entry. No entering from alternate farms is permitted; multiple entries determined to be from secondary farms will result in disqualification. Likewise, in voting for the farmer’s choice award, only one vote per farmer, not per farm. It is preferable that you don’t vote for yourself. That’s it, that’s all there is to it. Prizes have not yet been finalized, but will contain items such as terror bouquets, crypt vases, Baha buffs, and a Sakura tree. This is not an official BP sponsored event, so any questions or concerns should be addressed to me, Countess Spotsula, and I will do my best to address them. Entries will be accepted until October 30, winners to be announced Halloween night. So get to it, get creative, and let’s all have some hauntingly good fun! Bwahahaha!

Okay, we've decided to extend the submission deadline to November 4 to give all those who will be entering photos of costumes the ability to take the picture on Halloween and do any altering that might need to be done (to edit out any faces, etc.). I hope this helps for those planning on photo entries. More edits will likely follow as we gather prizes and donations, but I can tell you we definitely have the Sakura as a prize, and a generous donor has agreed to give one MM cloud row item, winner's choice (with the exception of the new Cerberus giver), to one lucky winner! Please keep in mind any non-artisan prizes will be distributed at the next B&T event. I look forward to seeing your creations, and in the meantime, some finger food anyone?

I'm too busy with RL right now to do so myself.

I usually don't decorate for Halloween. But this year I bought a huge spider and hung it in the window and some super large googly eyes and put them on the door. I got them at the dollar store. Very fun indeed.

When someone enter the contest with a creation does he should determine what is the category of his creation?

 

spotsbox, your finger food is just great. I am thinking, I might make those before we go trick and treating. But will the kiddies eat them?

@ "Countess Spotsula"! Hilarious!! Spots, this is so creative and fun. I haven't done costumes in a few years, but I hope to again one day. I can't wait to see what people come up with! Great idea.

My sincere apologies to everyone for my disappearing act this weekend, I had to go into hiding. Some crazy villagers got the insane idea they needed to chase me with stakes and garlic . I personally love a good steak, medium rare of course, and garlic, oh, heaven! Makes my fangs drool just thinking about it!

pnp, that is too cute! I wonder how in the world they got that precious baby to put up with the costume, my dogs go nuts if I just put reindeer antlers on them . Careful tho, I think Puski's rushing to snag his goodies!

Ariel, an entry is automatically entered in all categories, no choosing is necessary. Obviously not all categories will necessarily fit the costume, for example I don't think pnp's pony would be considered scary, lol, while Puski's skeleton would probably fit that much closer. The judges will sort the entries and put them in their proper category.

Puski, I will consult my fellow judges and see what they think about animated entries, but for my part I don't have any problem with them .

heidels and illy, I hope you'll join in too! Like I said in the intro, you can create your costume any way you desire, it doesn't have to be a real costume. You can even enter one you find online, if you like!

Okay, I'm glad we're starting to have some fun here, I think I'll put out some more snacks. I've got my eyes on a nice glass of punch and a little brain food .
