Baby Boom

It would be nice to still have the occasional 'old style' baby boom where it is not attached to cuckoo breeding or any other event like the current Last Candle.

It used to be an event in itself where we could work on producing animals towards completing the various breeding FS quests. It takes a long time to complete these quests so it would be nice to sometimes let us concentrate on doing this once again.

Yes me as a player at level 88, I have not completed a single breeding quest. Giving the old and new players a chance to work on pre-existing quests is important. Please slow down a little on occasion, a bit more relaxing than chasing. The fact that I know, that I have all the time in the world to finish a certain quests, does not mean that I wouldn't appreciate a little spare time to dedicate to the projects that I am actually interested in (a faster mill would be helpful).

Maybe slowing down some for a little while?
Letting us go on with all the new stuff that the team introduced and me personally in anticipation of the corral reef.

If the team could possibly consider dedicating some of that spare time generated by giving us a break... to fixing some of the overall problems in the game?
Glitches everywhere... anytime in Farmerama it could just not load...
I thought it was because I may have been in India and internet over there is not very reliable in the first place... but right now I am in the US and I had thought that having a busier schedule while being here shouldn't be a problem at all, because I will have at least a steadier internet connection to make up for that...

But there is still so many problems... I might just find out a bit earlier...
These problems should be fixed before a serious expansion into certain real world markets are considered...
I would recommend shooting for a very good first impression to any future new player at any time...

Not being able to get on the game or set up the mill when needed is a problem to me and many other players.
I, for example will be in Thailand soon, then maybe living in Laos again for a while or maybe in Cambodia???
Don't know... but I will try to play some of the quests if I can be at an internet cafe or a cafe with WiFi?
Slow internet at best again, as mentioned above...

Please make it at least work...
in some places it is actually quite expensive (RL money) to go to an internet cafe or buy a coffee, etc. and the longer it takes the more it costs...
and i am usually okay with that even though internet is slow, it is better then none after all...
but then I find out that I can not do anything on the game???

Where is the steamroom?

nevermind, no time anyway...
20 extra minutes cost a $...(a $, I might have spend to get 30 BB's if the situation would have been different...).
Instead I am steaming at my husband for free and spend the $ on an extra brownie.

And me as an existing player, I would rather have relaxed events with nice rewards, more spare time and an overall functioning game at all times rather then any other improvements quite yet (even if I personally might go on making suggestions on how to improve the game from my point of view, please pick some of the ideas of the forum for future projects: wishlist...).

I would have suggestions as to marketing... but the game has to work properly first. Or it would be too hasty, to be good.

 

The game does work properly, jennifersiegel. As I have said many, many times, the programmers cannot help the glitches that occur. They work incredibly hard to fix the mistakes that pop up. And they do fix these glitches. Maybe not fast enough for you, but much faster than you or I would ever be able to do it. Please treat the devs and programmers with a little more respect. There is simply no way to get the game to run smoother because this is as smooth as they can program it to be. The issues that arise cannot be predicted, so have to be fixed as they come up. Please see this thread for a more detailed explanation.

As for baby boom, I would have to disagree.
You don't have to participate in cuckoo breeding every time. If you'd rather concentrate on your other animals during a Baby Boom that coincides with cuckoo breeding, you can. You can participate in that cuckoo breeding quest next time it comes around. But Baby Boom around cuckoo breeding is a huge help for players trying to complete the quest, and I know that I for one would not have made it half as far as I did if I didn't have Baby Boom to help me.

 

Maybe it's better if we suggest the BBD mini event is done twice a month.
One associated with breeding event quests, and another for free run time.

However, once a month is better than nothing...

 

But this presents an issue for BP. Two events a month makes it a very regular occurrence, which means players wouldn't bother breeding in regular times, so wouldn't purchase as much PF, so loss of income for BP

 

From what I see, most players buy PF in large numbers only when BBD mini event is coming or when an event that required some of breeding animals. Very rarely buy out than it / buy at regular times.

More events or mini events that required PF, that means more player will buy PF. So more income for BP.

Or maybe I'm wrong to think it?

 

True, players do purchase in excess when Baby Boom comes around, but that's because it's once a month (maybe a little less) and an excellent opportunity to progress. If Baby Boom came twice a month, once every two weeks or so, it would be frequent enough that players wouldn't need to participate in every event, so wouldn't need as much PF.

 

I would not complain if it is only once a month. But very generous if it is held twice a month.
Every action must have a reaction of advantages and disadvantages.


Let's see other players opinion/better suggestion....

 

With all due respect - and I mean that, because I like your avatar - no thanks. BP is doing it the right way, I believe.

It all comes down to priorities - what you want to do with your PF. I mean, no one have to participate in any specific breeding event. Personally, I sat out during the first cuckoo breeding.

Giving opportunities is up to BP. And they do that, since we have baby boom every month.

Planning those opportunities is up to us.

 

Hello everyone and thank you for contributing to this thread.

I find all the different opinions very interesting and entertaining (22ro - like your avatar too! ). Some very valid points.

I do tend to split BB between any timed quest and the permanent FS quests but the FS breeding quests seem to be my 'thing' that I must work on as much as possible! There, I've said it, I'll be off to the therapist now for my weekly session!!!!!

I think the answer would to have the BabyBoom on for an extra day or so. It usually falls at the weekend which is not convenient for me. Having it last till, say, Tuesday would be good. Still only once a month but a bit longer each time.

I believe we not only do we need Baby Boom to produce animals for quests but also to sell them.
Breeding animals can get us lot of CC.

 

I love farmerumf's idea. We do have Baby Boom which you can use for breeding your regular animals. It is up to you to choose what you spend that time on. It would be better to extend the time that it goes for, because it's simply untrue that we don't have time to breed regular animals. We do - whether or not you choose to spend it on cuckoos is up to you

 

I have no complaints with current offerings, but I agree that having a separate event would be nice on occasion -- provided you still offer BBD with any breeding events. (maybe a good opportunity to have a more crop and regular animal based event? and then a separate BBD?)

 

I also second this suggestion, as long as it is paired with power feed sales. In fact I was just going to post a similar suggestion and found this thread.

I miss the old Baby Boom days when we could just kind of "catch up" on whatever breeding quest or priority we were working on. There are supergro/Suzy's supergro savings sales all the time, but power feed and baby boom only seem to come in relation to quests, events or new breeding animal launches.

And for those who say we don't need it, I would just say I don't think we're asking that they STOP putting baby boom/power feed sales with those cuckoo and special breeding events, we're just saying we would like them more often and not JUST with those types of events.

There is no down side... whats the worst that can happen? The horribly awfully expensive price of higher animals could come down a few CC's? LOL!
