It is an absolutely gorgeous day here. The temp is 72F, it is sunny, and just a light breeze. Got a lot done in the back yard. In about 2-3 weeks will get out there and get the citrus fruit trees pruning done. We had a bumper load of lemons this year. So many I took bags (1 dozen in a bag) and handed them out to neighbors. Most of the rest I have been squeezing and filling ice cube trays with, then when set take'em out and put them in gallon freezer bags, and kept some for daily use in cooking (lots of guacamole and pico de gallo!).

Last week we had 2 days of nice weather (temps in upper 60's and 70's) then the cold and rain set in, however I guess it fooled my roses and passion vines: got 3 roses that bloomed and several buds on the bushes and buds on the passion vines! I think they'll be okay though. I actually had to mow last week! More weeding to do ... eeesh!

Long Island is battening down the hatches. We have a blizzard warning, with 2-3 feet of snow possible by Wednesday morning, wind gusts up to 50 mph. Biggest concern is losing power and having the pipes freeze. Travel ban for all non-emergency vehicles on all roads as of 11 p.m., NYC subways and LIRR also closing. Not looking forward to this. Good luck to our neighbors to the north in Connecticut and Massachusetts.

I hear a snow globe is upon Northeast America. When I was a of school age I remember listening to the radio hopeful my school was called out for closure. Putting layers of clothes on just to have mom hurry to help me take them right off...have to go to the bathroom.
Stay safe everyone lets not have any accidents.

Be safe, birdiesaunt, and all you farmers on the east coast that will be affected by this storm. Will pray for your safety and that you don't lose power or freeze pipes. tlc, you and your girls take care, my friend.

Snow is lovely if you don't have to go out in it. I hope all you americans are able to enjoy the snow and it does not cause you too many problems. It is when the electrics fail etc that it becomes a big problem. I think Scotland and the north of England are also going to have a cold snap with snow etc this weekend.
Today it is cloudy, no wind to speak of but cold. Sitting here watching the clouds - it is nice to be indoors!

Goodness gracious birdiesaunt, I'll be praying for you and your family as well. I hope that all that are experiencing the blizzard or conditions caused by it will be safe. The best thing to do is as you say "battening down the hatches", be warm, hopefully you have stocked up on the essentials, and make sure there are plenty of back up power reserves (whatever form you use)! Put it in the Lord's hands. God Bless.

Thanks for all the good wishes and prayers. We were very lucky. The storm has ended and we are all dug out. We got about 2 feet of snow, less than predicted, and luckily did not lose power. Further east on the Island folks got a bit more. Still very windy, with wind chills in the single digits. Tucked up safely in my nice warm house with a big pot of homemade chicken soup on the stove and taking care of my farms, so I'm a happy camper.

Back to winter here, temp about 2 F (it was 60 this time last week:p) and snowing. Supposed to get some snow all week, tho not any great amounts, with temps back to normal for winter - 20s and 30s - then back to 50 by next Saturday. *sigh* I wish it would pick a season and stick with it, lol. I'm worried my poor roses will think it's spring and start to wake up too soon.:(

8)Massachusetts, USA - Also woke up to another snowstorm this a.m. We're expecting up to a foot of snow - but at least it is a light fluffy snow!
I love it when it snows...as long as I don't have to be out in it;) It's so nice to have an 'excuse' to stay warm and snuggly inside and watch it snow through the glass doors - just like watching a movie! Only with this movie, you can also be enjoying a good book!:D Or playing on Farmerama!:D:inlove:
Or..........Anyone have any fun and unusual ideas for what to do at home when it snows??:D:D

We had a lovely dry morning, no wind so did not feel as cold as it might. Lunch time - suddenly all the trees started moving and there was gusty wind and we had Snow. It snowed for about half an hour but not much settled as it was melting as it hit the ground. Now mostly gone, the wind has dropped and it is just very grey outside.

My fellow farmers I hate to rub it in but wonderful weather here. High today 83 and then starting tomorrow low 70's.
Perfect harvesting weather. Stay warm my friends and remember your hot chocolate or a sniff of brandy.

TCRooster, Believe me when I say Iwould be more than happy to send you all the white stuff we got yesterday through today. Has to be 10-12 inches. I saw an elderly lady last week pushing a shovel in one hand and a cane in the other-to get to her mailbox. Told my son-in-law that would be me someday. Well, today I was shoveling a path down the driveway to the mailbox (without the cane) And they are calling for more snow in a couple of days. But my accumulation is less than other places, right? Isn't that the positive way to look at it?;)xD

The weatherman was off in his prediction. We got 10.5 inches and now the sun is shinning and bitter cold.
Got out the snowblower, primed and choked it couple of tugs... no fuel. None in the can either. Luckily had some gas in another can and poured in some 2 cycle oil and an electric back up start and it fired up! An hour and a half and I am soaked and headed for the shower.

I like Croatia! Beautiful country. I hope to visit again someday :D

Here we don't have snow, but the air is very cold and in windy weather I feel my intention to smile frozen on your face. For two weeks the temperature was always negative. :(
