Comfort fields are not good for EP and drops unfortunately :(

Comfort fields take 4 times as long as normal fields, but they only give twice as much EP and drops. So if you can harvest often, it is better to plant event crops on normal fields during the day and plant a long crop over night :)

apparently pineapple cake is not supposed to give extra for event crop, or that is the lastest answer in the Q & A thread.

Anyway, real reason I came in was just to say that I, too, have noticed low drop rates. They seemed OK initially, when I was harvesting long term crops and pens, but now that I have switched to basically "just" event crops, the returns are pretty low. (and I have the statues upgraded, placed on tree to impact all fields, etc.) I will be switching to more or less 50/50 on my fields.. half event and half longer term crops/stables.

I have seen quite a few posts all over the forum about low drop rates. Is it truly low? Or is it just that farmers have grown all the crops and are now waiting on the drops to follow? Are there farmers truly at this point worrying about not finishing? It is day 2 and many people are reporting they are finished growing crops. The requirements are fairly low for an event and we still have plenty of time. I think the drops will follow once we all go back to normal farming.

My crops will be ready next harvest and I have 1/2 of the fruit hats needed. They will arrive long before the event ends.

I could have a misconception about the drops but the last event the drops were very generous because of milling extra arrows we did not need since the mini game had easy targets. Yes, compared to that one, these are lower but still seem in alignment with what the event requirements are. What am I missing?

If you are truly struggling for drops, make sure you let your neighbors and friends know now so they can help you before the end. There is also always illy's SOS thread if necessary.

    Good luck!

I don't necessarily feel I will have trouble finishing the event, but then I am able to grow some high level crops. If I were low enough that the event crops were a relatively long crop, I might be concerned.

One point, though... people tend to talk a lot about crops, remember that you get items from stables and workshops as well... and I believe that the long return there means the returns are quite good, even for lower level players.

I agree that the drop rates seem normal pnp :)

Last event was unusually high. If an event requires 650 drops, I usually have 350 left over after the event, last time I had 650 left over!

I have also noticed that the easier the event is to complete for lower level players, the more complaints about drops :p

I'm so not stressing about this event .... must be the 1st event I've not freaked out about ,,, i have every confidence i can make the crop count happen .... and planting organic cotton as a over night crop fills in for drops missed whilst growing event crop .... i'm so relaxed with this one it's not funny ..... when i think back about the last event and the amount of event crop i managed to grow ..... puts it into perspective .... :)

It's only 35h into a 144h event. I have 350+ drops. I might have all the drops needed by the end of tomorrow. Definitely by Day 4. No worries. I've been busy and been late for a few harvests. I managed one full harvest of event crops the first day. I'll manage 3 today. Leaves me with two rounds of event crops tomorrow. I noticed I'm averaging roughly 6-7 drops per full field of 1x1s for event crops, a 4h crop. From carnations, almost 20h crop, I've gotten roughly 30-35 drops.

As usual I'm using water, no manure. I have maxed out LL rune. I do not buy baskets.

I'm not sure if ppl are just reporting their status or if they are easily panicked. If one can manage at least an average of 100 drops per day and 1417 crops a day, they will finish by the end of event. This is the easiest event I can remember. Except the products might be difficult for some lower levels, but they can just do the silver level.

When I first started playing... EP from event crops was better than regular crops. Then it was worse. Then I reached level 90, had surgery and lost interest in that detail. I was probably thinking "instant" roses, even tho I had no intention of using SG, and was going to plant roses for Happy EP Day. I did run a few numbers and the event crop had the best. The exception might be using refinements with water and manure, but I decided to not bother with regular crops today. BP usually does not have the foresight to give us such a high EP crop for an event concurrent with Happy EP Day. Pretty good deal. Too bad I live on the wrong side of the planet to really benefit from the Happy EP Day. My sleep is to valuable to my health.

Easily panicked. Just a side-symptom of anxiousness.

As of now, there are 4,5 days left, out of 6. Whomever has been able to get 150/180 drops so far -taking into account a poor start- is more than OK.

As I said several posts ago, the event crop requirement is so low -so low- that there's plenty of time left to grow overnight whatever long crop a player may choose for the sake of powering up the event's drop rate. So much so that any player could get all of them way ahead event's end, if s/he pleases and can (that is, provided all non-barren lands are kept busy most of the time, with whatever).

Just an example: the farm I'm running that has nothing at all -no drop boosting method whatsoever, no trophies, no magic trees, no nothing- has accumulated 207 hats so far. That is, 34,5% of the total drops requirement in 25,7% of the allocated time. In other words, 34% more drops than should have been expected for the same lapse. This farm will soon be done with crops and it'll concentrate in long growth time crops. More than enough.

Just relax and do normal stuff: everyone can do this event.

    Wow 4, 5, 6 days left .....wow ...that's a whole month....

    Check .... poor start okay

    relax ......check

I'm gonna listen real carefully to all that great advice. Thousands of junks left to grow. But I'm a deeee termined farmer now!

I wanna grow twice the number of event crop needed. xD

My strategy now is to reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee lax! :)

Dang... don't know what you ppl do to get so many drops. Do you have some sort of magic rainbow? So far I'm stuck on the last level of the 2nd task. I can't seem to get the hats. I only have a few trees on a couple of fields. Other wise they are filled with peacock flowers. I use the CAC. I've seen as few as 3 hats per field and never more than 8. I average about 20-25 hats per harvest (including Baharama).

I am now getting a tad worried. I should have enough peacock flowers by tomorrow morning to finish the entire event, (need less than 1700), but I am still missing multiple hats -- I need 40 to finish the diamond level of the second taskl, 110 to finish the gold and diamond levels of the third task, and 107 to finish off all three levels of the fifth task (done with task 4 already). These are not the totals required for those levels, since I have contributed a few here and there. I need 267, but only got 20 something hats from harvesting all my fields. (and I do have the statues upgraded, etc.)

This seems much more skewed than has been in the past, though I still think I should finish without having to buy packs

First, CAC does not actually increase your yield. There is debate over whether converting your field to 1X1 increases drops, (but ! X 1 definite give you the most benefit from CAC, since you get 2 extra for every plot, regardless of size)

Then to maximize drops: Have you upgraded/used your harvest trophies as much as possible? To get the best impact, you need to move them around, then harvest AFTER you move them (let them sit 10-15 seconds or refresh or go to another field and pop back to be sure they register). Several of us are now getting 7-10%. It adds up. Eventually, it is worth opening the top rune in the tree. That allows you to just upgrade the trophies and then have them impact all your fields without moving them. There is at least one cloud row that offers a drop boost, as well, but it was an event item, not something available right now. The rune and trophies are always available.

Next, the rate is based on the length of the crops. The event crop is of relatively short length. Most of us getting the highest returns started our longest growing crops in advance so we could harvest them as soon as the event started. I had a lot of workshops and stables, with the same effect. I don't know your level, but if your crops are short term, then try using more stalls and workshops.

my plan of attack is grow all the event crop needed during days .... long crops of organic cotton of a night ... then once i have the needed crop all done go for the longer crops till i get enough drops ....
upside of the longer crops till the event end will also give me a lot more salt/sugar/wire needed for my trades WIN WIN :)

10 -15 seconds to let it register is probably long enough

    Ken,

If "stuck in the last level of 2nd task" means you've completed the 3 levels of the first one and the 2 lower levels of the second one, then it means you've already donated 160 hats (and I assume you have some of the 40 needed for that last level of the 2nd task --> more than 160 already gotten so far).

This means you're OK, since you still have almost 4,5 days to go till the event's end. More than 25% of drops already achieved and still almost 75% of all the time left. Just grow the event's crop while you're around and the longest growth-time crop you have available overnight, in these remaining 4,5 days.

    It must work.

Something seems wrong with the event drops. When I harvest a huge field I might get 2 or 3 fruit hats :( I have everything, but at this rate I never get the fruit hats I need. Normally the drops are higher, aren't they?

IF you have all of the required event crop ..... plant a HIGHER EP plant it will give you a higher drop rate ..... i got 35 hats off some trees and a field of organic cotton this morning on green meadow .....

How many event drops have you got in total? Read Aluntinos post above, if you have more than 200 (adjusted, since more time has passed), you are doing ok :)
Does that mean you have got over 300 drops already? If so you are doing great, no need to worry at all. Over half the drops in less than one third of the time :D

PS. Don't count drops per harvest, count drops per day. Take the total amount of drops you have got (subtract the ones from the initial harvest if you can remember) divide by the number of days that have passsed. If your drops per day is 100 or more, you are on track ;)

I have 277 hat drops to still get and i'm not worried as I've now grown more than all the event crop needed and have now changed crops to higher EP longer growing crops .... so SHOULD make it no sweat

At the moment I've got a little over 350 hats to get to finish the event. I still have a field of Oyster Mushrooms to harvest and a field of Crop Square (fit in my time schedule). I did seem to notice lately my drops on the Glade (both the Fruit hats and all the other items) were much higher than the drops on any of the other fields, while I do move my trophies around always and log out and log back in before harvesting on the field where the trophies are.....

Since I'm home again now, I'll plant event crops during the day (i just need a little bit more, I'll have enough for the entire event by late afternoon or early evening today) and I'll plant long time crops overnight for higher drops. I seem to get close to an average of 100 fruit hat drops per day, so I'm not really worried yet since we still have four days to go. I think I should be able to make it :)

    Good luck everyone!
