    I couldn't find a thread like this... forgive me if I am wrong.

    In a bid to get to know my fellow farmers, I was wondering what the inspiration behind your farm/forum name was? :music:

    I'll go first.

    When I started farming again I realised the forum had changed and my old name wasn't supported by the new forum or something so I had to pick another. Quite simply, the first thing in my head was oldmcdonald! :p

    I think oldmcdonald is perfect for a farm name.
    Mine is the initials of something/one close to me.

    I also think oldmcdonald is perfect:)

    I chose my farm/forum name because they are my favorite animals and when I lived on a farm in RL, it was the puppies and ponies that provided my greatest entertainment and now fondest memories.

    Farm name: desaray17
    Desaray was my first horse that I owned who was the best friend you could ever have :inlove: and 17 was my favorite Nascar driver, Matt Kenesth, but now is car number is 20. Just decided to leave the 17 in as that is the number he had when he won the Championship :inlove:

    Quite simply, I love honeysuckle and the smell is glorious on a summer's evening. And Chevrefeuille is French for honeysuckle. :)

    I always wondered how it came about as chevre is goat and feuille is leaf, goatleaf doesn't have quite the same ring to it! :D

    Well mine was easy to pick - TC (me) and the name of my oldest dog, Rooster (named because I went out to get some chickens and came back with her).

    Thank you! :)

    That is a nice idea :)
    If you don't mind me asking, which language is this? :)

    You are now the second person I know on here who has lived on a farm in RL! I've not really had much experience with horses/ponies but I can get what you mean about puppies - I remember when mine was a pup, a jack russel, he was so full of beans! I'd come home, he'd come running to me wagging his tail and then (I don't know if this makes sense lol I will explain as best I can) he did this funny thing where he sort of crouched to the ground with all fours spread out, ears back, eyes wide and tongue out, and then he would go absolutely crazy: he would go 0-60 running around the place, back and fourth, so much so he would hit the wall, skid up the skirting board and up the wall! xD

    That is quite an interesting way to determine your name! :)

    That is a beautiful name! :)

    LOL that is funny xD

    Haha, yes, please explain @TCRooster !! xD

    Btw, Mir, what about you? :)

    Mir is the start of my name and it is a nick name my brother gave me :) We read in the paper about the Russian space station "Mir" being taken out of orbit. Then my brother said I could be MirII :D I later learned that Mir means peace in Russian :)

    When my brothers didn't want to play board games with me, I sometimes played alone, MirI against MirII :pxDxD

    Well, I've always been a country girl and decided that since I had a big enough garden, I could fit some chickens at the back and enjoy fresh eggs in the morning. So, off I trundled to one of the local farmers to get my chickens and as I got into the barn this tiny black and white ball of fur bundled into me and attached herself to my shoe laces. The farmer obviously recognised a sucker when he saw one :p and happened to mention she was a sparky little thing and he wanted to make sure all the pups (hence he took me to see them) went to decent homes. I therefore returned home several hundred pounds poorer but a million times happier and without my chickens! So she became Rooster as a reminder of how she arrived in my life. And she never did let go of my shoe lace all the time I was looking at her sisters!:)

    Such a great story :D Thanks for sharing :) Did you get chickens later?

    I can believe that :inlove:

    Yes, I now have my chickens and having just moved we also have 2 pigs, a cow (yup, just one!) and a shetland pony. And the sheep will arrive when they're old enough - lambing has just started so we're waiting for their imminent arrival. Next on my list - ducks.

    nice story TCRooster:)

    I remember that I couldn't decide what nickname to choose. I had a lot ideas but I wanted something that I would really like.
    My father helped me out and suggested this name. I loved it because I like Ariel, she is a mermaid and she swim in the sea all the time, what I also like to do:music: and she has red hair:inlove: (Have you ever seen a natural red haired person? I am jealous of them:p)
    It turns out that I made the right choice not to choose a nickname with Greek characters because it would be difficult to get neighbors and all the players here wouldn't understand my nickname....

    Hahah you are funny xD

    By the way, how do you pronounce it? I have been pronouncing it "myrrh" as in the nativity :music:

    Haha I noticed your picture awhile ago and so thought it must have been something along those lines! :D

    @TCRooster what a lovely story :)

    Beautiful ! :)

    I've got natural red hair, Ariel, and it's naturally curly too :). I keep it about shoulder length or sometimes a little longer, tho when I was in high school I had it so short I sometimes got mistaken for a boy o_O:cry:. When I was in grade school, my sister's friends used to tease me, and I always wished I could color my hair so I wouldn't be so "weird". Of course, I thought blue would be a great color!xD I got over wishing it was a different color by the time I was a teenager, when I realized how much people paid to get their hair curly and/or red ;).

    As for my farm and forum name, they're one and the same. It came about because when I registered for Farmerama, I didn't know the name I chose to login with would be my ingame name as well, I thought I'd be able to change it :wuerg:. Spots is what my husband used to call me when we first started dating oh so long ago, because I have freckles. It's one of the only nicknames I've ever liked :inlove:. And box was because when I made my very first email account years and years ago, I couldn't think of a good name, so since it was essentially an online mail box, I became spotsbox (spot's box) xD. When the new forum started, it was just easier to stay who I was than try and come up with a new name that no one would know me by.

    Illy, Chevrefeuille is a beautiful name! So is Ivancica :). And pnp, I'm a little bit jealous, what little girl doesn't want a pony? The closest I ever came was my dog Moon, who was over 110 lbs. and used to push between my knees and give me "pony" rides xD (one of my favorite memories of him). Thank you everyone for sharing your namesakes, it's quite enjoyable learning the reason behind your names, and thank you oldmcdonald for coming up with this thread.:inlove:

    Great thread.. :inlove::inlove: I really like your farm name. Sounds like a real farmer in real life.. Perfect name! :)

    @-Mir85-
    At the first time, I think you are from Germany. "Mir" means I (me) in German. I realized I was wrong after I read your intro..xDxD It's nice to know you well. ;)

    @Arielh
    Your farm name is an idol for every girl in the world.. Well known among the girls, after the Barbie's.
    :)
    And also Ariel is fun, enthusiastic, and pretty mermaid. Just like that you are.. :music:

    @TCRooster
    What a beautiful story :inlove: Really like it!

    @IVANCICA30
    Daisy is also my favorite flower. Coincidence??? :D
