now that i have reached lv40 i decided to go with the bakery so i can make products to eat for baha ep. my problem is the last step of collecting bricks and roof tiles. to collect 500 each will take almost another 2weeks at the pace i am collecting them.

question is, is there a certain way to collect products faster besides buying them? i have platinum green thumb @ 4% in a crop field to help. would i get better results with statue helping animals than crops? would i get better results with higher level crops than say doing lettuce every 5mins for more chances?

To collect faster those tools you can complete some permanent tasks that have as rewards toolboxes. You can also ask your neighbors and friends to sent you a toolbox everyday.

I get way better tool drops on longer growing crops. Occationally I will get a tool drop growing hay. I rarely get any tool drops from lettuce:(. Good luck! Oh and the pirate cove have toolboxes on sale sometimes.

Be patient now about tool drops. In few months you won't even need them.

I hope you didn't have chocolate pancakes in mind when you opened the bakery because you can't get that recipe anymore. :(

At level 40, I don't think it really matters whether you use animals or crops, as long as you are able to harvest them as soon as they're ready. The most important thing is to avoid any idle time on your farm.

Overnight is another issue. Since mushrooms are your longest crops with a growing time of only 04:45, it would be better for you to use animals instead. Unless you only need about 5 hours of sleep. :p

And no, harvesting your farm more often will not increase your chances of getting more drops such as tools.

There are 2 runes on the Tree of Wisdom that can help you get those tools, though. It's just that collecting enough stars to unlock them might take you a while. xD

The Tools Galore rune will give you an XXL toolbox containing 500 random tools, and the Special Helper rune increases your chances of finding tools while harvesting by 10%.

i just read artisan village faq more closely and noticed this, not even langos anymore. nice for those players who have the recipes. i havnt gone through all the level yet for all the trades, there are not any recipes for baha ep anymore? guess i keep going with what im doing and just buy them. should be lv 45 tomorrow, closing in on a few more toolboxes from quest, hopefully couple days ill have the rest of the bricks and tiles.

The best way to get drops is to grow the longest items you can.. it may be animals, workshops or crops. (its the same for events)
I remember it seeming to take forever at first.
You can buy tools, but I would only do that if you can spend real money. Several quests offer tools as a reward, but it may take you time to complete them. You can also get gifts from neighbors, but that is slow.

Per BB.. HOARD them, unless you are OK with spending money (even then, be careful... small amounts can add up). I disagree somewhat with recommendations above. I would save my BB for secret seedlings/stables, but opinions vary on that. Recipes are not necessarily a bad spend, but look up what you will earn for "free" before investing. Be sure you are not spending precious BB on something that will just duplicate a product you are going to get in levels 2-3 anyway.

Per Baha... the spa offers a red punch recipe that gives you 2500 BEP. It requires bromeliad and herbal elixer, plus one of the base product (punch), which requires milk, grapes and herbal elixer.

When I asked about which trade to open first, folks were mixed on whether the bakery or the confectionary was best. I did not come here to check first and opened up the florist, which I regretted for a time ,but now find OK -- I can make valentines pots and church bouquest to boost workshops and pens, though do wish I had opened confectionary first. I only just opened the bakery and so am still learning what it offers.

Since you are active, and leveling up nicely, make you priority to open the spa when you reach level 70, there is products there that helps leveling up in Bahama, like the red punch which seems to be the favorite for most and make the langos looks like old news, later on, on level 3 you can make the Mango Orange smoothie, which is even 3 times better, but the question is are you planning on opening the confectionary, for me I see it essential and helps both the main farm and the island.

Edit: adjusted the level for spa, sorry for the mistake guys.

I always forget about those langos. :p

As others have mentioned, the only other artisan products that give BEP are red punch and mango-orange smoothie, both of which are spa products. But in order to open the spa, you need to reach level 70 first and then you need 150 stars to unlock the spa manager rune on the Tree of Wisdom.

The good news is that they are both default recipes so you can start making them as soon as you reach the required level. :)

You can also fill customer orders to get more EP and BEP. Initially, the only customer who gives BEP is Van Ramme, but you can unlock 2 more BEP-giving customers (Tiger Doods and Laura Craft) in the first chamber of the Ancient Monkey Temple with golden bananas.

Sorry woddy, I disagreed with these one. Tool drop is random and small chance.

feelfree2win, I would suggest you to read {FAQ} Plant Cultivation : Greendhouse & Plant Refinery at first.

For an example, I need a lot of hammer to build an animal workshop. What should I do?
I am going to take gamble on 700 strawberries in the Greenhouse until I got "Dropper Hammer" refinement [IMG]. And this is the description :
As we can see, the refinement has positive and negative results. But 400x higher chance is huge boost and no need long time to find a lot of hammer. :D:D What a relief! Time saving....!!

(NOTE : this is a gamble, so you would need to do multiple times and also wasted so many strawberries)

And what should I do next after I got the "Dropper Hammer" refinement?
Put the "Dropper Hammer" refinement on Plant Refinery slot. Planted the strawberries again and harvesting.
I'm sure you'll be surprised at the results. :inlove::inlove:

Happy farming and good luck for collecting the tools !! :D:music::D

Unfortunately, spa needs lvl 70, not 60.:(
Kim.com2000, your assistance is right, but
    1. feelfree2win is at lvl 45, so it might be a few days before he reaches lvl 49. What we want is instant access to the bakery.
    2. other than sweet nothings, quests like chicken eggs quest, goat milk quest, down feather quest and paint palette quest can also give you toolboxes.

My method for opening an artisan trade was completing the quests which give you toolbox. That was something I did when I had to open my first trade.

@feelfree2win, do you want a toolbox from me? I can give you one. I will also be very willing to give you a langos/red punch/chocolate pancake/mango orange smoothie for your baha.

This farm is my second - what I lovingly call my "little" - farm and at level 82 (nearly 83!), I have not opened any of the Artisan workshops. Initially I was trying to build up a stock of all the trade products as, when you open one, you only receive trade products for those Artisan workshops you have open, the others stop. :p

But I have since realised that it is easier to buy stuff such as CAC, PJ and Mango Orange Smoothies, etc. I wait till there is no event and prices start to drop. I buy CAC when it falls under 40k. To make it, you need some pretty expensive crops: Hazelnuts, Onions, Mushrooms, Tomatoes and that's without including the Sugar required which, though it has no price ticket, is a very valuable item. :)

I may still open one of the Artisan workshops when I reach my goal of 20k of each trade product but I am in no hurry. After all, the ever popular CAC recipe will not be there waiting for me when I reach Level 4 in Confectionery nor will the recipe for ZAB be my goal for Bakery at Level 4 as both these were prizes in a long ago event and I will have to shell out hard earned BBs to obtain them! :wuerg:

I have all Artisan workshops open on my first farm. I did what we all did when they were introduced, worked like mad to get them open, arrived at the recipes I wanted, which I was "lucky" to have won in the appropriate events (even though in those days it was very hit and miss if I finished any event or not lol!). I have reached level 5 in all but Spa (only another 75k points to go!) and Alchemist (which will be my next challenge!) and I still only really make one item on a regular basis - CAC of course. :music:

I was wondering which way was the "best" way but I am still undecided - after all, if you have no CCs, CAC is just as out of reach to you as when you are striving to get to the appropriate level knowing that even then you don't have the recipe. :inlove:

Just another point of view regarding the Artisan Village. ;)

You do get more drop items for longer-running crops. They are only partially random. We don't know the full formula, but that part we do know.

That said, the trophy (takes a long time, though), and, as you noted, refinements help. For craft supply drops, there are some craft products that boost your chances. I have not used refinements or buffs to boost those drops, because the cost always seemed too high to me, but I know a lot of people here swear by them.

wow, so much too learn. i thought i could rush into bakery and start making langos but that isnt the case anymore. buying these items will be tough now since making cc will be a lot harder. since the last event ended things take longer to sell and prices are dropping. i see artisan level also take a long time to level up to get to recipes. i need to remember this game isnt a race to the finish, slow down and build up stock.now that im getting longer crops to grow it will give me more time to read forums and faq. even read them 2-3 times so i can think i understand what they are saying lol.

    off topic,
CAC,PJ,ZAB, so much of this info is going over my head. is there a list somewhere where i can see what all these abbreviations stand for? the one in faq is very limited. im terrible with a computer, slow two finger typing. wish i knew how you take part of a quote or even how you link the nickname so i could respond to the right person.
gifts? i havnt started to give gifts yet, was looking at the system and im confused. when i open gift section up there are the 5 section. lets take animals for an example, lonely chicken. i can gift lonely chicken but i dont have any? are these free items bp lets you gift or are they costing me somehow? like gifting toolbox and its taking items from my barn when i am trying to save them right now.

any gifts would be greatly appreciated but not really necessary. nice thing with this game is you have a few different options in which way you wish to go.

    Hi feelfree2win :)

I don't think we have a list of the abbreviations commonly used (maybe someone would like to make one :music:), but I can tell you what those you mentioned are:
    • CAC = carrot-apple chutney
    • PJ = pumpkin jam
    • ZAB = zucchini apple bread
All the free gifts in the gift section are free gifts from BP :) If you gift someone a toolbox, the tools are not taken from your tools, same with salt, sugar, event drops, lonely goats and so on :)

But if you want to gift someone an artisan product, you have to give them one of yours ;)

Good luck with the game, you have had a great start, hope you will continue to enjoy it for a long time :D

Just an FYI, but some farmers use PJ when they are talking about Pink Jelly (used to speed up colored animal breeding). Pumpkin jam is used to add 1 crop to your crop plot so context should help you figure out which one is being referenced. :)
