I just finished farm expo and No rest on the farm, I can't believe it took this long to finish them!!! I started working on both of them when they were first introduced. Did it take anyone else this long? codyj #44475068

Congratulations!!! I am still busy with it :(xD
I don't know how other people find the time to plant for event quest and do permanent ones...it's incredible...

I haven't even started the "No rest on the farm" there are too many goods required... Which quest is the farm expo?

Well done codyj. I am still struggling - everytime I get time to work on them, another event turns up! I try and keep 10 comfort fields just for the long term crops. I have some jumbo trees so usually have enough supergrow to speed them up. It is a slow progress but as I like to grow everything I use, rather than buy, I know I will get there one day.

Congratulations, it really takes a very long time, I did up to step 8 silver on garden expo, and up to step 5 silver on no rest on the farm, so there is 5 stages left for each, and usually I do 1 or 2 steps when I finish the events quickly, but this time I am concentrating on stocking animals and preparing for the chameleon breading event, and BBD that suppose to accompany it, also I did all the animals for down under wonder, just waiting on the kiwi birds, so it is on hold now for a few days, it is all 17 hours and up crops now, and it is a waste of good time to do it without CAC and 1x1 plots, thats why I prefer to do it on events time.

Thanks everyone for the feedback, I don't feel so bad about it taking so long! I guess everyone likes to know they are in the same situation. I was using machinery and 1x1 plots for the majority of it which helped considerably. I hate to think how much longer it would have taken if I was using 4x4 plots. codyj #44475068

The small plot and large plot doesn't actually make a difference:

Lets say the field contains 20 of 1x1 fields (small plot)
that is equivalent to 5 of 2x2 fields (large plot)

when seeding, they all use up one seed

large plot yields 5 when harvesting
small plot yields 2 when harvesting

so when you plot small plots, you use up 20 seeds and will yield 40, which is 20 more
large plot uses 5 seeds and yields 25, giving 20 more

they are actually the same except for if you are using water etc,you will use up faster in small plot than large.

    @suezoroc , 1x1 is useful when you use pj/cac...

    (assuming you are using pj)
four 1x1 plots will give you 4 extra crops.
one 2x2 plot will only give you 1 extra crop.

    Did you see the difference?

Edit: congrats cody for finishing garden expo and no rest on the farm.:)

    Well done, codyj! Congrats!
I must admit I had to see which quests you were talking about. They're tough quests but I also remember they were great to make us want to level up faster than the usual. Didn't you feel the same, too?:)
On the other hand, Granola Gralore and Party in Paradise were my annoying ones. They were not exactly tough. But lychees were out of reach for many players (me including). I remember I had to wait more than one year (maybe two?) to finish them because it took me forever to be able to reach Lychees level. And this was a few months before the new bahamarama levels system...:sleepy:

Anyway, good job to those trying these quests!:)

Don't forget those oh so elusive Jocotes too Arrouquelas! :wuerg:
My baby farm still needs those for Party in Paradise, got everything else. :)

You are so right about wanting to level up quickly for those two quests - they took forever but what a buzz when they were finished (on Illy's farm that is). It lasted until the next *impossible* FSQ came along! :D
Well done Codyj - what an achievement. ;)

And yes, it did take me a long time - and it will take me longer with this farm as I am leaving them till I get bored enough to start them! xD

Oh, I remember the Lychees ones. I was almost there, just 45k xp away from making lychees and they changed the island to GB. I then was many levels away and it took another few months to get the necessary GB together in order to get the Lychee tree. The quests I am finding most difficult to complete are the product ones. I just can not waste giving my products to the quest, when they are so valuable elsewhere. I guess that is the problem with some of the quests, the value of the items are so much more when trading on the market or in event quests and so seldom are they put into the standard quests to finish those.

I have always been too impulsive with FSQs - must finish, must finish, must finish - but I have managed to control my "donate now" urge. I save and save and save the products (or whatever) required until I exceed the requirements and, if an event is imminent, I find out they won't be wanted for the event. I do donate to the product FSQs even though the rewards are not really worth it, just because I can! But I try to hold on to them as long as possible. Sometimes it pays off if a product has been a requirement for an event, I have been able to sell a few on the market. It means I must begin to save them up again but ... :music:

I also find the breeding FSQs requirement versus reward not particularly attractive - so I hang back on those too. I try to finish a level each time so I must have enough breeding animals to do silver, gold and platinum before I donate ... unless I need whatever the reward is immediately. :inlove:

Please don't mistake this strategy as anything like a cunning plan - tomorrow it can change! xD

Oh right! They are required for party in paradise, too! I remember lychees were level 24. And jocottes level 27. After I got to 24 I caved for a while. Then tried to push it again but not very hard. I was 1 million BEP away from 25 when they changed the levelling system. And 1 million away meant that I was 1 month away... xD

Oh dear! That was really unfortunate!:(
I know there was a conversion script for those that were on a certain level and had many BEP earned already on the way to the next level. Maybe you missed to apply for that script? On that account, I got 5 or 10 levels up for "free" during the conversion. Thanks to that I got jocotte tree in less than a week. Before it would take a year or so... o_O

    Me, too.
Cooking pots regular quest is definitely one of the must not finish!!!xD (They're far better worth it for Soup n' Friends quest) ;)
And I suspect the bio-glue quest will be another one of must not... 8)
And of course, any regular breeding quest... -.-
All the others, as long as I can, I don't mind trying to do it. But you're absolutely right. One shouldn't be too eager to finish these days... :music:

I 'm missing the "I'm a Lychee lover" thread from our old forum. I know it's not such a big deal these days but I really wish I had made it to lychees to post in it before they changed everything and the thread was gone :sleepy:
