I have to agree with the general consensus of this thread. I understand that players that have played for years may not need stars, but for new players like me the rewards for this event do not come close to, or match the cost of completing this quest (BECAUSE of the lack of stars).

Also, given that the 2 new FSQs will offer no stars and chameleons are a relatively 'high' leveled animal considering its feed cost (I personally do not have tree fruit to build feed yet) and build time, whats the point (of a new player) to even attempt those quests until every single other quest that helps further their account is finished?

I will most likely not be participating in this event, nor will I be willing to spend resources (hammers/wood boards/time/crops/etc) to start the FSQs until I have nothing else to do. The reward/cost benefit just is not there.

    My take on this event is this;
Even if you take the stars out of the equation the reward/cost benefit is just not there.
I would be interested to know if the people at BP that make up these quests and figure out what the donate vs reward levels are going to be actually play the game?
If I were to do the quest my goal would be the orange pen and workshop, I don't normally have a problem with drops so I'm not worried about the Drip Tanks. That being said, orange level animals are easy to get so it seems to me that I could built several of my own using all the colored animals that I'm being asked to donate just to get one of each.

The Chameleon pen being given as a reward for this quest should have been a Red one!

EDIT 3/9 - Reply to Mir, You're right as you needed 2 less Sporty at the quest.. My point was that I would make more high level animals at Baby Boom and I did so why give them away?
Answer: to get the workshop upgrade without waiting for the drip tanks and when I saw how pitiful the drip tank drops were (NONE,) I did go ahead and complete the min ness to get the workshop upgrade.

Drip Tanks- I assumed that the tanks would drop the same as scrap metal did, so I wasn't worried as I did very well with scrap metal from the start.

WRONG - And to be honest, I'm always saying 'don't change things, don't make the game too easy," but the Drip Tanks are completely ridiculous.

My morning harvest in the Glade is normally about 30,000-33,000 EP for that field. My trophies are at 27% out of 30 and I have a Howie Donut on that field but I've yet to get one single tank.
The ONLY difference I've made since scrap metal is moving my trophies into the tree and I DO NOT believe that moving them to the tree works at all. I've said before that I've noticed a huge difference.

My opinion for anyone reading is if you're thinking of doing the Living Legend in the tree with your trophies, DO NOT DO IT, keep them on your field.

To build the two orange upgrades you would need 4 ninja chameleons and 4 sporty chameleons + tools.

To get them from the quest you need 4 ninja chameleons and 2 sporty chameleons + 7 coach and 7 gym chameleons. In addition you will get 2 XXL toolboxes, so to me these steps are definitely worth it (because I want those upgrades) :)

Well, I'm definitely going for the two upgrades. I've harvested two fields of the highest (at least for me highest) animal pens (peacocks, donkeys, chameleons) and I got NO Drip tanks...... while I had my trophies placed on the fields before I harvested them. I got plenty of other tools.

I don't know if the drip tanks were supposed to drop already, but if they're supposed to be rarer, I definitely want the rewards coming with this event :)

I am completing this event, though i guess I am a moderately high player, have invested in the mill subscription and am even willing to buy some powerfeed sometimes during promotions.

Is the lack of starts a big deal? I like earning them, have several runes I still want to open and do look forward to events as a way to get them more quickly than the now mostly very slow going farmer's quests (I have pretty much completed the easier ones already). I am not really sure what the benefit to farmerama is to stop awarding them so often, but I can still earn them. I like stars, but will still do even without them.

All that said, i think the biggest reason for the level of disappointment is that this event had such a big build-up prior. Many of us got quite a few cameleon pens and some yellow pens as rewards for past events. You more or less announced that an upcoming event would need them... and rather made us believe it would be something special, perhaps even tied to the new reef feature you have announced to be forthcoming at some point. Instead, we get something that doesn't really match the rewards of other recent breeding events.

Its not a terrible event, but its not great.. maybe average to perhaps tad below average overall. The huge build-up, though, pretty much set us up for disappointment when you did not come forward with something truly good and/or at least unique.

EDIT: Probably the most telling point is that no one has even bothered to start a thread for this event in the strategies section. I did complete this event, today, and am even breeding a few beyond for the upcoming quest. However, my main enjoyment for the day is using the baby boom to get breeding animals.

Has anyone else noticed that the drip tanks will be needed to build chameleon pen upgrades as well as the new workshop and workshop upgrades? They should not have been made harder to get as a drop since this is an additional need for them.

Yes, BC, I noticed that too. I also noticed that the amount is double (10) when compared to the scrap metal needed for donkeys (5) and zen rakes (5) for pandas.

I prefer the events when we get a base pen/workshop as a prize and then the upgrade as a higher prize. I would not mind having to build additional workshops in the city when I have enough drops but after all the build up and anticipation of breeding chameleons, I would like to go ahead and get started with the workshop rather than having to wait an undetermined amount of time (days, weeks...)

I have to sit out this Quest. I'm locked out. The bar was set pretty high for this Quest. I and a lot of others like me can't do this one.

    Hi!

I've decided I will complete the quest, but only the minimum required to get the two orange stalls. The rest of my PF stocks I'll use to work toward FSQs, and I won't be buying more this time around. Which means, less PF needed => less PF bought => less RM spent => less profit for BP. BP really shot themselves in the foot there, at least where my money is concerned. -.- Though one person's wallet won't have much of an effect on their bottom line... :sleepy:

Another easy breeding quest, waited for BBD and completed the quest in 4 rounds of breeding, so less than an hour.
with 2500 stars sitting idle in my inventory, they weren't even a consideration.
Also got a rainbow from basics, so will be nice for the permanent quest when it arrives

On the downside, I think the graphics for the coloured chameleons poorly thought out - not enough difference between them. A yellow ninja with no mask? Gym & sporty look too alike.

I agree with everyone so far. No stars, what's the point? Very disappointed. I will be sitting this one (and future events) out. I need stars. The past events took i.e. jewels, wool, etc. and it's very hard to get enough to fill the request, for stars yet, keep enough in inventory to participate in an up-coming event. If I am making myself clear. I'm not a happy farmer :(

I agree about the chameleons - really poorly thought out. Just like the bees actually. You can't tell what you've got instantly as they all look the same.

No Stars??? Seriously??? This is a huge mistake. I need stars! That is what makes this game fun. Why would you take it away? I'm totally bummed >:(. That is why I do the events in the first place. The rewards are not that great, usually. Why spend 30 powerfoods only to earn back 10? Because I do it for stars.:cry:

I'm still new so I can't participate in this event. But, if I could, I would skip it. No stars. No point. I've lost two neighbors recently, I think. Their bars went down to red, then they were gone. I guess people are getting fed-up with this game. They were higher than me too. But I really, really need stars. I'm not very far along and I look forward to each and every event because I want the stars. I build up in-between events also. I'm so very disappointed. But more than that, I feel like quitting. I hope things change. I will give it a couple more weeks. Let's all hope they come to their senses and put back what works. BP there is a saying, "If it's not broke, don't fix it."

This was an easy event for me as I had plenty of chameleons and enough PF and pink jelly to complete it quickly. I think that not offering stars is not helpful for those desperate to get them. The new pens are good prizes but only for those higher level players who are able to get enough tools to make the basic glue factory. That is OK, as lower level players can do the first bits. I think the graphics are a real let down this time - we all know that chameleons change colour, so why not use that to give us more exciting multicoloured ones ? It is hard to see the difference with some of the graphics that we have been given - quite a let down as, after all the hype, it is yet another very much the same event and the results of breeding are not interesting either. It is time for a change with events like these please BP. :(

I was able to complete this quest with no problem. I don't consider myself to be a low level farmer but the lack of "rain" in the drip drops is horrendous. I only got mine through toolboxes and have yet to get enough to complete the base glue factory. Since these drips are needed to make any and all of the pen upgrades and workshop base/upgrades, this shouldn't be this restrictive. One only needs zen rakes and scrap metal for the workshop items, not the animal pen upgrades.
I also do not have all the stars I need yet as it is hard to work on FSQs and participate in events although I try hard to do both. Maybe a compromise is to only give stars on part of the event steps. I'd rather have stars than stickers.

I finally got my drip cans for the base glue factory by going back through the open quests and finishing the ones that had toolboxes as part of the reward.

I, too, went back and turned in the rubber ducky I got in the BBD (not a skip) for 3 XXL toolboxes to get the 5 I needed to build my base.

I hope we don't need those for any event anytime soon.

This is First Breeding Quest, that has no incentive at all to get Stars. As I strongly Agree as we need a total of 3080 Stars to Unlock all Runes on The Glade Tree. How on Earth is BigPoint is going to Make any Farmer Happy by punishing every Farmer completing or part completing this Quest, Not to Mention no Stars for the Two New Chameleon Quests.

From The Toolboxes from this quest I did not get even 1 Drip Tank tool drop as we need 6 of these to Make Chameleon Orange Pen. This Does not give me any incentive to Make Chameleon Production Pens to can get Bio Glue. Nearly Most of us will be put off doing Chameleon Product Quest due to no stars being offered also it is very hard to get Drop Tanks as Tool Drops too

All Previous Breeding Quests have had better rewards this one is the Worse one to date :cry::cry:

What the point of Producer Newsletter saying that they are working on making things Better Suddenly on the behalf of Us Farmer Peeps it is a Huge Let Down

For Me the Only Thing that was worth Getting was the Bahm EP Giver

I strongly Suggest that you Bring out an Event that Gives lots of Stars to Make All Those who have started playing for 18 months or less.

Us.... Including Me are classed as Loyal Farmers as I have been playing this Game for almost 4 years. It would have been nice to build up Surplus Stars, Even if we did unlock every rune in the glade Tree used up all our Stars then thing about Rewarding High Lever Farmers with Surplus Stars with Newer Runes. Please Bring Back Stars to these New Quests.
