New Animal and Quest

I really want a little platypus....and look at him in his adorable paddling pool!!!

The game has been lately becoming increasingly stressing day after day. At least, for people like me who play while working. I feel there's a glut of too many open fronts. Too many. Certainly, another new animal or yet another new tree just put more and more pressure. Though they add interest, these introductions should be more calmly paced; otherwise, we get overwhelmed. I'm starting to get too tired.

 

I agree Aluntino.....in fact, I'm now scared to sell any of my animals to FHO's lest they may be needed in some new quest!!!

 

I also feel that way. The same animals introduced in the last few months (rooster, wolves) are now wanted in The Wolf in the Fold and it looks like whatever event for the platypus! Sheesh! Give a farmer a chance to catch a breath.

 

I think it's better donate to the events and not to these difficult permanent quests

I agree Aluntino too! I don't have so many of the new animals and trees. Last time there was a mystery stable event I didn't buy any mystery pen. Oh I can't keep up with the new quests. They even intruduce a new animal and the same time their production pen So my strategy is grow-produce-breed whatever I want and I like....I only donate to quests when there is an even not to the permanent quests.....



What do we see here? We will be able to buy 30 mystery stables to get at least one platypous

Regarding the package:

If they follow the pricing of the trees last time, this package will cost 630BBs. (15 x 30 + (60 x 3))

 

I will be more optimistic and say 550 BB. but still very high, may be they should do a smaller package of 15 or 20 secret stables.

 

From a post IVANCICA30 placed in the equinox rumor thread, I followed the link and there is a picture of a BB box with the number 630 next to it. I am really sorry to be right in this case.

 

The guaranteed stable isn't included in the 30, right? As in, a package will be 30 mystery stables plus 1 platypus stable? Didn't bother with the wonder trees, so haven't really paid much attention. Hm... If a package of 30 will be 630 BB I think I'll probably skip it and just hope I'll be lucky enough to get the new stable anyway. I do plan to get quite a lot of them at any rate, as all this farm has are the dove cote and the Glowworm field from the last event.

 

well,maybe i am not making the right calculations but if 1stable is 15...30 of them will be 450 , i did purchase the trees and 1 was 5 bb, 30 of them was 150 .... of course plus the extra for the new tree or new stable

 

The extra BB would be for the guaranteed mystery stable since if you buy 30 separates you only have a chance to get it. But yeah, 180 BB for a new stable isn't exactly cheap.

 

I feel Mystery-Whatevers favour low level players. At the level I am at I'm assured of just one pen each from a 30 pens package. So if two are a repeat I'm doomed.
Conclusion: I do not take part...

 

It is hardly possible that these animals will be needed in the new quest as most of them were already requested in the previous two similar events when wolf and kiwi stables were introduced. Maybe spiders this time?

 

Ok, I am officially either confused or very upset...the event Guess Who is a short time quest and asks for only rare animals with the final level asking fo 20 kiwis (I don't have that many and they are not in the market) plus 7 platypus with the prize being a snorkel shop. I see the wonder stables are also going to be on sale for the platypus but with several hours of waiting to see what you get, even if you get a platypus, it is a 16 hour pen and no way to have 7 of them by the end of the weekend. What am I missing? I have either really lost it or BP has....on the way out the door back to the Dr with another sick kid so will have to figure it out later.

 

With PF it takes less than 6 hours, so it is just possible to get 7 in two days. This of course requires that you have time to harvest so often during the weekend AND that your time zone doesn't make the start and end times of the event too inconvenient.

 

I don't get it either, puppiesnponies. Are they deliberately counting on enough players getting the platypus stable through mystery stables but unwilling to do the event to provide enough on the market for everyone else, or what...?!

No snorkel shop for me, regardless. I don't think I could do it even on my high lvl farm. Kiwis, roosters and wolves are already all out on both markets. And no stars in sight. I think I'll skip that event entirely to save myself the frustration (and make some good cc selling cats and mice). I will buy mystery stables though, as it'll be the first time on this farm and I have yet to build anything here so I have a fairly low chance of getting multiples.

Edit: I see you posted while I was writing, Mir. I always forget the PF for regular stables, so yeah, I guess that makes some kind of sense.

 

I don't think there is any chance that will will happen. I guess it is a chance for those who always buy a lot (or are very lucky) to get something super special (like the moose music hall used to be). And a way to tempt more people to buy the package.

 

Not sure what you're referring to, am tired today so forgive me Mir if I'm being dense. What has no chance of happening? Players putting up platypuses for sale or getting platypus pens or...?

 

I don't think there will be enough platypuses for sale so that (a significant number of) players can do the quest by buying platypuses in the market. The maximum listing price is always very low in the beginning, so I doubt many players will sell their platypuses even if they are not doing the quest.

There is always the option to finish the quest with BB. According to the German forum the BB price to finish the last step without any platypus is 48BB (after donating all the wolfs, stroks and kiwis).

 

This is an "event" -it's hard to call it that way- aimed at both anxious and paying players. I don't belong to the first category but I do belong to the second one -though I don't buy everything: just what makes sense to me-.

The package is priced exactly as the trees' was: the cost of 30 units + 12 additional ones; 630 BBs now, 210 BBs then. If this price is an indication of odds, then the platypus pen will be extremely rare, based on what happened with those trees, at least to me.

In the trees case, I refused to buy the package, spent more than 210*2 -as I then supposed I would have-, and ended up with just 1 kowhai and no amherstia.

But then it was rather "harmless": no more consequence than being patient, and I'm good at that.

Now, for this "event", failure to get the platypus pen in the first few hours means you won't have any chance of getting the snorkel shop. In other words, only those buying the package will have that chance.

It's pretty clear to me that these BP guys have realized the game is ailing: we should realize the same thing when we see this kind of desperate, extreme, compulsory measures.

PF is probably their best direct and indirect source of income, along with BB sales. Thus, everything they are now devising is built around maximizing those sales.

A gloomy future ahead of us.

PS: Mir, 48 BBs for all platypuses? I doubt it; I'd expect it to be 48 BBs per platypus. In the FAQ, it literally says: "The Platypus requirements price from the last level would be 48 BBs". Open to interpretation. We'll have to wait till someone gets there or asks the mods.

PS3: Therefore, this is what I'll do: I'll buy less than 30, maybe 25 -I definitely don't need any more cat kennels -I already have 37 of them-, and hope for the best. If I don't get the platypus, then I'll pay the 49 BBs. 25*15+49 = 424 BBs.
