    Happy Saint Patrick's Day.

    True Story: We were in Ireland some years ago, looking at a market stall. There were some candle holders there marked at 50p each.
    Two Irish ladies standing next to us said: 'Look at the price of those, you can get them 2 for a £1 in the pound shop'.
    (note for those not familiar with sterling, there are 100p in a £.)

    I was like you, until some American friends showed me that carton movie where is the character was played by an actor in Indian accent, it was funny, but I liked the story, try to look for the movie, Happy Saint Patrick's day.

    As you've probably read in Cali's link St Patrick's day is a very special day in Ireland, their national day in remembrance of their Patron Saint, St Patrick (who as tales tell it - banished all the snakes from the island. This still hold true though, there are no snakes in Ireland!)

    But these days most of us don't celebrate the "Snake-guy", it's rather a fantastic party! And yes with several Parades across the globe.
    It's just a very happy day, spread globally I think by the Irish migration, that calls for happy times!


    In Ireland they go absolutely bananas! And I don't mean little bananas - they go mental!

    You have to wear something green, so town is already green but the colour the River Liffey (in Dublin) is green as well!

    I used to live over there so that's why. All my friends went to Norway to earn decent money. I went to Ireland. Earned crap but had the time of my life.
