    The Chicago river also gets a green dye job for the holiday. (Trivia, the Chicago river used to run the other way.)

    Butte, Montana has a really big Irish community with a big celebration.

    Happy St Paddy's Day (Padraig in Ireland)
    Just got back from Chicago but at 7AM and driving the Dan Ryan Expressway. I couldn't see the River (They do it by dumping Orange Dye I am told). Matter of fact I made two trips to and from Chicago. They celebrate all week in Chicago and not just March 17th.

    If you took your eyes off the traffic on the Dan Ryan to look at the river (can't remember where it crosses it) you would be in the river! xDxDxD

    Here's the rather embarrassing thing :oops: for some reason I had it stuck in my head today was St. Patrick's Day until my grand daughter came home from school yesterday and asked if I had anything green on bc if not she was going to pinch me :eek::eek: I replied "St Patrick's day is tomorrow!" and she gave me a funny look and giggled and said "It's today!" xD So since I had a little green in my earrings she let me off the hookxDxD Wonder what my Irish ancestors would think of that mix-up??:wuerg:
