new, mountain meadow theme area

Many people are asking for a new regular or almost regular farm area.

What about a mountain-themed area? It could be just normal or maybe be a place for only animals and trees. (freeing up the other areas for crops, event items). Opening it could be the reward for a quest, for helping neighbors, or earned after a certain level/number of stars.

Making it essentially normal would reduce the programming issues (I believe..), should not (?) conflict with the planned reef addition, but it would meet a demand of many here.

 

I agree - we need more space to grow stuff - or condense down what pens we have!

 

I've got several ideas.
1. Area. Maybe the one for MM, think, that will be great.
2. a tree like xls and xxls but inatead of faster growing it could bring 2 fruits more.

I also agree, woody...The only problem being, we were all given a vote for the next themed playing area and, as we all know, the Coral Reef won the player's vote. That being said, I didn't vote for the reef. I believe something like what you're suggesting was offered, and I voted for it, but majority rules. Maybe BP will offer another play area some day. I will again vote for land. Thank you for your post and suggestion. I hope it gets more response than mine did.

 

I agree with Woody. A new feild would get alot of our animals out of storage. I'm sure we all have alot of animals production stables just sitting there doing nothing as there is no space to put them out or show them off. The coral reef sound nice but still will not help with the stored stables we have or win. I have quiet a few wonder stables just sitting there. No space to use them.

 

This must have been before my time, I never heard of any vote. Even so, what I am suggesting is not in competition with the reef, it would be another standard field, with a design not that unlike what we already have. This should make it a LOT simpler to program. though I would not expect them to go for it until after the coral reef is live, unless there are further major issues with the reef. I suggested a mountain theme for that very reason. Its really an extension of what we have, whereas the coral reef appears to be something truly new and unique.

 

I love we all agree to ask for new regular farm space. And BP had heard about our requests!

Yeah, I definitely understand these things take time. My suggestion is more along the lines of "yes, I know you have other priorities, but when you get to it, maybe this would help make it go faster....?" One thing people are maybe not thinking about on the down side to adding more regular land is that this will further skew the game toward older players, make many things much cheaper in the market.

Everything is a balance. I think that is one reason why the team has leaned toward creating new zones, rather than just more regular zones, because different zones create a new market, adding more regular zones just allows some people to basically flood the market... and note, I am now one who has quite a few very nice pens in storage. However, one thing I find is that outside of events, many animals cost almost as much as the food they require to produce. This seems to indicate that production is outpacing demand. Using that measure, we are not necessarily truly all that short of space.

I realize this sounds like I am arguing against my own suggestion, but the other side is that its just not fun to have all these pens that we cannot use. This is why something like a storage area or, to take my suggestion, a mountain area, where, say, only one of each pen, only wonder pens, or some such can be placed. That, too would lead to complications though. So...... just a suggestion, adn I realize fully how difficult it is to implement. Still, I think these suggestions are as much about giving us a chance to debate out ideas, come up with new variations as to offer absolute 'take as is" ideas that we expect to be instantly implemented.

Some are (the name change i just posted would be one I would like to see happen and its not something needing much debate or discussion).

 

Another thing to consider is that more farming land means more clicks for those who don't pay for the harvester. On my first farm, I did not spend RL money and mostly harvested by hand. I did not open bahamarama at all the first 7-8 months because I didn't want any more land to harvest and replant.

I opened it right after the big bahamarama revolution, there was so much talk of it (had found my way to the forum by then) so I was curios

 

And also, more farming land means more time spent in front of computer. I do not want to glue too long at the computer. I had another real job to be done.
I hope this new feature is easy to use and not too many clicks in there. Quite simple and uncomplicated!

 

Also another space on the Island Under the Temple?

 

well one thing that would be easy for them to program is an orchard... nothing else can go there just trees. It should be very easy to program... and they could make it.... harvest all ripe trees with one click for free! for congrats on getting to level 40
It wouldn't solve all the space problems but it would help, it would be easy to program, and it would be pretty

I'm curious about the statement of "new playfields which will let you ALL store your stables, Breeding pens without having to turn them inactive" from Producer's Newsletter.

What does it mean?
I mean ALL my stables could be breeding the animals without having to turn them inactive. Is this feature going to auto-harvest on animal pens at the new fields?

Has anyone noticed?

 

I don't think it has been clarified, partly because it is all still in the planning stage. (some programming might have started, but it has not been flushed out yet)

 

I hope it does mean ALL stable/pens - I have just counted that I have 387 in storage with most of the others filling my fields, with just 12 comfort fields growing crops. That is only the main farm, not including Baha! I am sure a lot of you will have lots more. We really do need more space - honest!

 

582 animal pens in my inventory right now, not including 128 animal pens that I used right now on 3 fields on mainland nor the Baha pens.
I would be very happy if this new feature allow me to use them at once. But I doubt it will happen!

 

I have 1137 pens in inventory with more on the farm...this does not include any workshops. I would love extra space but wonder how much storage we will be allowed to actually have....

 

I have not counted my pens, but I think if we could put one of each item, that would be good, without upsetting the market too much. I am afraid letting everyone use every stall would skew the markets quite a bit. Maybe not as much as I fear, since feed costs will set a base price, but still....

Or, maybe I like that because I like to have at least one of each pen running, (other than during events) then rotate the rest depending on what I need.

I like the idea of an orchard, too.

Anyway... I guess we can discuss all we want, the final decision won't truly be ours
