New Mill features

I hope I am not premature in posting this, but how is the new mill going to impact your playing style, if at all?

Also, do you see yourself as more or less likely to buy the mill subscription now? (or no difference)

 

I started buying the mill subscription when I bought the Valentine cloud row reducing mill time. With both of them PF now only takes 3 hours But feed production has to be started within 6 hours of activating the cloud row, and the cool down time is 24 hours. So the mill queue will work great with that. Here is what I will do:

• Activate cloud row
• Start production of some feed taking 3 hours (or a bit less than 6 hours)
• Queue 7 PF (or 6 PF)
• Repeat next day

That way I can easily mill some regular feed every day, but mostly PF. This is more or less what I do today, but I have to go back to the mill to start the PF.

When I bought the cloud row and the mill subscription, I decided to stop buying PF. If you buy PF it is so easy to be tempted to buy a lot. This way I spend a fixed amount for the mill subscription, but nothing extra for PF let's see if I can stick to it

 

I love the mill subscription. Like Mir, I also have the Valentines cloud row and I think that the new mill queue will work out great for PF production. But I still spend way to much on PF
I also really like having the subscription for those events that call for milling a drop item.

 

I don't buy PF. I don't have the mill subscription. I don't have the Valentine CR. Not sure how the revised mill is going to effect my play but it might help to better organize my PF milling. I hope... LOL!

 

I will love it for overnight milling. Being able to set a queue and then go to bed and wake up to enough feed for my animals (plus maybe a few to sell at market)...woo hoo!

 

I generally set my mill every morning and mill 24 hours worth (or 48, 72. 96 hrs etc)of what ever feed I am the lowest on. I'll use it but it isn't going to change that much for me. Then again if I had a newer farm or wasn't so obsessive about keeping high levels of feed to begin with I can see the benefit.

I do the exact same thing you do: 3/6 hours of other feeds + 7/6 PFs. (In my case, it's been a long time already that I hire the Mill Subscription each month -but I learned the hard way they don't publish the sale every 30 days on the dot: therefore, I keep now at least 2 months worth of it stacked-; the CR only got it even better).

The problem is I sometimes forget to get in the farm before the 6 hs-window runs out....... (It happened so many times....; I've even put an alarm once or twice to force me to remember....).

So, this new feature is going to be excellent for me for optimizing my mill use. No more problems with the 6 hs-window run out (at least in theory....).

 

Yes I also bought an extra month the first time, but I learned the easy way I also do this with the harvester, although that is quite regular, I just like to be sure that it will not run out

 

I'm in agreement with Mir and Aluntino. I just set my mill to 3 hrs of goat feed followed by 7 PF (21 hours) which will put me back to the time of the CR reset. So nice to not have to rush back before 6 hours is up to start up the mill again.


EDIT: Have now found out that BP has "fixed" the way the CR works and this will not work anymore. Boo.

 

Well, not anymore.

I noticed yesterday morning that, after the mill change implementation, the scheduled 6 PFs were messed up and were not ready by when the CR was ready for harvesting again. Today, the same thing.

An OA released an hour ago explains it: they "fixed" it, under pretty ridiculous claims from the development team (ridiculous, because I could mention now, without much thinking, at least 3 or 4 buffs that work the way this CR was working before the mill got "fixed"). So ridiculous, that teddy.bear is clearly ashamed of publishing that OA.

Now, the new scheduling lost most of its value, at least for me.

 

i love new mill design it really save time and you can over night put pf to mix and still mix food it was time for BP to make new mill and thank them for this for me best new thing in this game

 

Aluntino, ridiculous is the understatement of the year I can only assume you chose that word as not to be banned from the forum

 

Mir, Aluntino, yes, once again, BP claims the original way the CR worked was a "mistake" that has now been corrected. Are they going to "correct" all buffs this way? Nothing like playing a game where the rules keep getting changed to the advantage of one entity. Is this BP's idea of "fair"?

They have, indeed. Shame on them.

I haven't mentioned before the buffs that still work the way the CR did before they "fixed" it with the new mill just not to draw their attention to them. Short-lived, but at least a way of not waking in them the urge to "fix" what needs no fixing at all.

By the way, the scheduling thing hasn't worked in any of my farms. It simply didn't start the second task. Again, they "fix" what needs no fixing but they are repeatedly blatantly unable to make features to work properly.

Now, I'm milling the cuckoo fee, let me try to schedule some PF mill ,
It's near midnight on my time zone. after finished my initial event crop planting.
It should be bedtime. Next morning I will know if the schedule will work!

 

Not sure what the issue is, honestly. I have been able to stack my powerfeed, more than 6, and other types of feed as well, without any issue. PF is limited by ingredients, most particularly water.

EDIT: revision, I notice that the time is much less, not what I expect with my subscriptions. I thought at first it was just me, but apparently not. It is now taking me much longer to mill everything. Its not just that the valentines row and mill subscription were both wasted, not having the accumulated powerfeed will put me behind in breeding. I hope they do compensate us, by extending our subscriptions AND offering us some free powerfeed.

 

On one of my farms I had trouble putting anything into the second slot of the queue. That seems to be working now.

Also, I put PF in the second slot of the queue, when I came back it wasn't running as anticipated. Then I realized I didn't have enough water in the tank. This is a problem for those of us that don't have unlimited water. It means I have to keep the tank full and will cost me CCs. One more thing to worry about. lol. I'll have to rethink this.
