Once again I was sitting here trying to figure out how to work my schedule around BP... UGH!
Worried about drops since I only had 125... a few hours later I realized I didn't need an average of 258 drops a day but only 158! :D :D :D I already have 158. No longer worried about drops. Been worried since reading the FAQ about how I was going to get all the crops done... Then I remembered somemone a few pages back saying something about the crops not being all that bad. LOL So...
    776 *3= 2328 crops per round
    13,000 /2328= 5.58 rounds needed per crop
Assumes the use of CAC on 1x1s. That's not so bad.

I have enough 4h crop for all the plots now. I'll use up 4-5 rounds doing the Level 1 timed portion on day 3. Meanwhile... I'll finish out the day growing 8h, it's noon now. That will be round 1. Tonight I'll grow some regular crop that will be ready to harvest before I have to leave. Plant 8h crops while gone. That will be round 2. Round 3 when I get home. Round 4 overnight. 4h crop and timed challenge during the day. Round 5 of 8h crop the following night. Finish up any left over crops/drops on Saturday. All that worry for nothing. :D

    BTW:
Since April 5 is Easter... If we have an Easter event... looks like it will start a couple days after this one ends.

That sounds right, Fifi. It's usually about that time when everyone is in bed asleep so can't change their clocks at the designated time!

I've just activated the 24 hr thing.

First harvest, mostly CPs, partially dedicated fields except for the Main Field -with about 100 1x1s of CWs there still to be harvested along with the CPs in 3 hs time from now-, only tree-free non-barren land (in the Glade, for instance, only 60 1x1s dedicated to crops), 2 crows (+5% each), 6 owls (+10% each), ZAB + EM + CB active (+60%+30%+20%) -my typical buffs configuration when doing crops, along with CAC-, Flower CR active (+10%; 24 hs left), yielded 11,5K EPs. So, as I guessed, I'll be done with the 65K EPs before the 24 hs-window runs out, without doing anything special. Dragon/nightmare things to be activated when they'll get available (+20%, each of them).

    171 event's drops so far.

All in all, everything's looking more than fine. Nothing I should worry about.

I have enough of both event plants right now that I may start the timer later today when my Dragon and Nightmare pets are re-charged. I only have one owl and one crow but do have the flower CR so I should be fine. (I do have ZAB, EM and CB. Just need to remember to use them at the right time! xD .)

Alright, I think I have my plan of action down. I'm going to start the timer this evening, right before I harvest this crop. (I'm impatient like that) Then I am going to try the comfort fields for the first time ever overnight as suggested with the CP. Then switch back to CW on 1x1s during the day. I don't have pets or the CR, BUT I'm pretty sure I just made a few people a tad richer buying up CAC,ZAB,EM, and CB!! xDNow I just have to remember to activate them! -.-LOL

Zuchinni (sp?) Apple Bread, Easter Marmalade, Carrot Bread, and CR=cloud row. As befuzzled as my mind is right now, I can't think what CP is, unless it's the pets.:p

With a mix of CP and CW in CF's, and ZAB, CB and SW and Baha EP cloud row bonus, sprayed with SSG, first harvest 37,487 ep.
That gives some wiggle room if I can't harvest on time.

I think Woody is right. I find that animal pens are 100% the best and most efficient way to increase event drops, I depend on coloured pens for my drops. My glade is always filled with orange, red, and pink pens/workshops and I get double of what the best crop would give me. No matter how bad the drop rate is I always finish events with hundreds of spare drops.

My big dilemma on step one is - Is it worth clearing all your fields for a Yellow pen of "anything?" I've pushed for upgrades on rare animals but I never used the word yellow. The point of the upgrade reward was saving farm space and getting 2 animals from one 2x2 space not saving 20 min time.

I was debating whether to do this event, but not being able to access my farm for a day has pretty much made my choice for me. I will do part of it, but not sweating anything.

A Big thanks, though for reminding me to cash in my cuckoos for a trophy! I am now down to just over 2K cuckoos, but I went up 3 levels on my trophy... only one left.

Aluntino.....This Statement is not true using 2x2 Animal Pens to Gives you inefficient Drops. In terms of Animal Pens Raccoon Pens would give the Best Drop Rate as they Take 24 Hours to Grow using 2x2 Field.

If Thoses of you happen to have a Pink Donkey Upgrade Pen theatrically Speaking this would be the Best Pen for Best Drops as An Animal Pen. Therefore This Statement is not True !!!

For Acmetoy and Woody. Actually Jumbo Trees Gives Better Drops Than Using Animal Pens. The Best Jumbo Trees are Suzy Jumbo Trees, or Suzy XL Jumbo Trees or Suzy XXL Jumbo Tree. The Reason is you can use Suzy Grow on the Suzy Jumbo Tree Boost the EP on this Tree by 50% and Might or Actually Boost your Drops using this Tree too. PLUS after using Suzy Super Grow, You Actually Gain a Suzy Super Grow for Every Suzy Jumbo Tree you have.

I Got 163 Mugs on my First Harvest on This Event had Many Fields using Jumbo Trees. I Also Use Super Grow Jumbo Trees to Gain Some Suoer Grow which i can use to refinements of Roses using Comfort Fields Actually The Best Way for Emergency Drop Boost of Event Drops for those who are struggling with Event Drops !!!

But if you spend Time and Effort to do Refinements on Crops you Actually get Better Drops Than Animals Pens, By Using them on Comfort Fields It Quiet Expensive to do it this way. But it does take time to get these refinements but the rewards to Pay off Eventually !! :)

If it works for you, go ahead, as you wish. My experience is exactly the opposite, tried dozens of times, in 3 different farms.

However, I pretty much doubt anyone can end most events with hundred of spare drops because of using pens/workshops instead of crops for the simple reason that events usually ask for lots of event's crops and it's either the event's crops or the pens (or other crops, or trees, for that matter) for most of the time and the space. Anyway, I usually also end up with hundreds of spare drops by any event's end but that has little to do with dedicating the lands to any specific kind of usage and has all to do with keeping them busy at all times and the drop boosting add-ons that are present in that farm (trophies, Howies, etc.). Those with no such add-ons get less drops, no matter what, of all kinds, always. Consistently, however, when I do switch to mostly pens once the event's crops are done, it is typical that I get less drops than if I had kept lands busy mostly with crops.

Anyway, my suggestion was aimed at getting the most at the event start, not to the whole event.

    Ajjg,

We posted at the same time.

Something that occupies a 2x2 for 24 hs can only yield 1 drop of each kind at harvest time. Instead, the 4 1x1 plots used with crops have the chance of yielding the same 1 or more drops of each kind and have more time to yield more in the rest of the time till you complete the 24 hs timeframe you gave as an example. It's as simple as that.

For the same reason, jumbo trees have a set maximum of drops of any kind (1 per kind) whereas 4 1x1s with crops have a higher potential of yielding more drops in that same time (anyway, I keep my 9 jumbo trees permanently on the lands because of the EPs they yield, not because of the drops, simply because I know I don't need to boost any further the drops chance in this farm, of any kind -neither event's nor any other kind-).

However, if you carpet let's say the main field with 44 jumbo trees or 24 hs pens, it's probable that you may get near to 40 drops from that field, at the cost of keeping that land for 24 hs just dedicated to that (it's a perfectly OK choice, but it doesn't suit my needs: I need to produce lots of different things and usually I feel I cannot afford dedicating so much time to something just for the sake of getting much more event's drops than reasonably needed at an event start).

Does anyone know if the Moustachery production time can be shorted with PF like the other Stables? It is after all using food & an animal.

Following the strategy provided by Mire85 and for the players who did not started the first step (timed step) here is the result of my first harvest of cube water melons that I planted over night with CAC, ZB, EM,CB x 4, flower cloud row, Dragon pet, crow pet:

For the players who have the owl pet and unicorn, and more than 1 crow, can have better results, so now the fields are full of cube pumpkins, I am expecting to finish this step in 6 hours 22 minutes, that's 2 rounds of cube pumpkins, if not then may be a third round since the pets are on cool down and would not help the next 2 or 3 harvests, good luck every body.

    Scarlett,

In other similar occasions, the temporary event's workshop behaved as if it had been a regular workshop. Hence, PF was applicable, water reduced its time, the workshop rune acted on it and time-reducing buffs like Gingerbread, Eggnog or Church Bouquet affected it.

But, why would you like to cut with PF a workshop with a base time of 5hs? Water -no rune- would cut its time to 4 hs. And, if watered, with the workshop rune active, its time would be pretty close to that of the CPs, watered.
