Screw up of the day

found out today what 'exchange value' for items actually means. i have completed 8/15 for country fair using lettuce thinking all items were 1-1. quick tally i have wasted around 130k cc

 

nooooooo... I just got the 4th level of country fair using radishes...took 40 of them (I think...my memory is awful lately). When I started, I was so quick to fill the customer orders in the Farm Society. Not so much now. NOW, I know to look and see if it's going to give me a boatload of EP or not. I'm not giving those customers my breeding animals for a measly couple hundred EP...

Not a screw up as such, but I've been pushing to get what I thought was the last 5 golden bananas to open the 4th area on the island only to find I still need 5 more.
I realize this game teaches patience, but I want the patience NOW!!!

 

LOL! I've been there ... and there ... and there!

Screw-ups today, too many to mention! Mainly around the last harvest of crops and miscalculations of how many required. Then filling a field of CW when I won't be around to harvest them - should have put other stuff in there before so planting time/seeder wouldn't have been wasted for the morning - so they will have to sit there till tomorrow morning! Just hope my final calculations are correct and I do actually get the appropriate amount to complete the final stage.

 

Got overexcited last night and planted 2 fields of CP instead of one, so I have over 1000 CP extra meaning I'm still plugging away at CW!

 

I went to delete a piece of land to put trophy on and deleted my ready parrot instead.

 

Just ate a CAC and then filled my fields with animals! I think I should just go to bed now!

 

TC..... guess you'll be feeling full after eating that CAC and it's got nowhere to go!!!

 

Today's screw up - brought to you courtesy of that faux fashion model on the farm society page: There is a difference between pears and YELLOW pears. She wanted the yellow ones. I got a good deal on the plain ones...phooey. Now I'll never need plain ones ever again, but I'm seriously low on CCs. Sale on server 9!

 

Just realised the other day, I made some Yellow Bio-Labs without having first ensured I'd made the factories to place them on. Got too excited about getting some down.....
Totally forgot about the need for a base Lab
Anybody (low level) want one?

The bad news is that you can't gift things like that to other people except for during a Gift & Trade event (and rumor has it we won't have a G&T until June). But the good news is that by the time G&T comes around, you might have collected enough water tanks/tools to make the bases!!

 

Well so far, this Friday has been full of the screwy louies... First - I forgot to activate my spring wreath BEFORE I went and harvested everything first thing this morning.

And then, in RL, I managed to put together a bag with the pocket upside down, thus had to rip the pocket off and sew it on right side up. Good thing I noticed that before I got the bag finished.

Okay, lunch break is over, back to the sewing room...

 

What else except bags do you sew?

 

Thankfully, farm orders don't ask for breeding animals.

I think everyone has made this mistake.

 

Woody - I think I didn't say that right. It's the base animals they ask for - sheep, cows, pigs... but I need them to breed for the the breeding quests - which I've started almost all of them, but it takes a lot of sheep to get enough to then breed the next level and so on. So then giving the farm society customers 6 of those sheep shorts me in breeding sheep. Do they ask for chickens (I have a lot of chickens).... nooooo. They want turkeys and such - that I don't have near as many of at this point in time.

One thing I've figured out is that I'm going to have to rotate through animals - rotate through the animals where I have multiple pens to build up stock.

ArielH - I mostly sew bags now...but I have branched out the last couple years and have added some new things. One thing is a wrap that I call a "Cozy Cocoon" - they were a big hit at the Christmas shows. And I have dabbled in Altered Couture (where you use a ready-made garment as a base and alter it into something new), and aprons. Aprons were huge last summer...my stock is very low, so I need to get some ready for the start of the 2015 market in June. I also want to add at least two new items this year. But, time is running out! I gotta keep to my schedule or I'm going to be in big trouble.

On my own front...
My biggest mistake this event was to grossly underestimate the number of orchids and tulips I would need. I am currently trying to round up enough CCs to buy them in the market.

 

Glad to know I'm not the only one scrambling for orchids and tulips - which is surely the reason why they have risen dramatically in price at the market.

And, now I'm off to read up on breeding strategy...at least I think that's what you're trying to tell me.

Even with careful planning, talking to friends about MM, reading forum, double checking MM start time (is it 8 or 9 AM here?), getting out my MM plant list that I want to grow this time, selecting which crop to grow before MM starts...I still harvested overnight roses and planted Easter lilies that will be ready an hour AFTER MM starts. It is before 6 AM here but that is not really early for me...no excuse...just messed up.

 

I went out to a friend's last night so ended up not getting home til an hour and a half after my crops were ready (I was getting a bit fidgety at theirs knowing this but ultimately RL must take priority!)..so I set 3 of my fields with onions growing and Baha with Easter Lilies on CF's and the Mill to run some Bouquets ready for this morn. Soooo, today I harvest everything (still waiting on the Easter Lilies on Baha) then go to plant event crop only to realise I only had 34 in my inventory...huh?? Oh yes...previously I'd planted Easter Lilies overnight but this time had done onions for drops and of course I'd used up the rest in the Mill making Bouquets (thinking I'd have plenty from the harvest in the morn ...so I've had to put out 2x2's with what I had, use more SG,water,manure to get some ready in an hr or so...
