uh. no to the exotic pets. I'll stick with my little weirdos (the pugs). They are enough for me.

yup, I just have furbabies. All the above talk about faulty lady bits is a dance around for "I couldn't have kids, so I have pugs and spoil them rotten".

I have been told that finger nail polish remover works as well as denatured alcohol. It couldn't hurt to try.

yeah, kept checking every time I came upstairs and there it was. Can't even imagine what it was like in their Seattle offices - I'm sure that was an unscheduled outage. DH worked IT for years. Now, he does some when the boss requests, but his main job is copiers. Much less stress.

    8) Just a thought - nail polish remover has worked for me on occasion for other glues and sticky things. Perhaps it would work for this also?:)

I don't play Farmerama through BigFish, but I have quite a few others from there. What types of games are you into besides this one,
sewinglady (and anyone else playing casuals)?

Also, I feel for you all with endometriosis. I've been having problems since my late teens but although mine are quite bad, they might not be on that level (or maybe that's what I have, who knows, they're not interested in finding out...).

Yeah, even though the PCOS made me infertile, Tricare (military insurance) wouldn't authorize the hysterectomy until I started having problems post menopause. So I dealt with it pretty much my whole adult life. ugh.

As for games at BF - I do some HO, some TM, some match 3's, marble poppers and word games. Especially good word games. There are a handful of games I go back to over and over - ~ edit ~ has to be my hands down favorite from Big Fish. I just love that game! Keep hoping Dekovir makes a third installment. I also go back to ~ edit ~ all the time and wish they had done the sequel so that it was playable on a computer. I did the one on Facebook until the developers abandoned it. Got tired of waiting, plus it was soooo glitchy. This game is so smooth sailing compared (and I have to give my compliments to BigPoint for that!).

Gotta go - time to harvest the farm!

I wonder if nail polish remover would remove my mother-in-law's meatloaf.... so far back hoes and large cranes can't budge it....

I doubt it. She must use the same recipe that my friend uses. Most inedible meal I have ever choked down.

Edited to add: Love this friend - but she is just not a good cook. Some people aren't meant to be in the kitchen...she's one of them.

@betty127 & @sewinglady ..hope no offence was taken ladies.. it was more of a leg pull than anything! It just made feel slightly queasy that's all but compared to what you guys have had done because of your ahem..lady giblets :wuerg:..that is nothing, quite obviously! My apologies if it was taken the wrong way! betty, how wonderful you got your children :inlove: and sewinglady, I'm sorry to hear your condition meant you couldn't have children, however I'm pleased the severity of your other issues has lessened and you have your lovely pugs to love and spoil! :) You have my permission to throw a spinach pie at me or throw me in with the monkeys....:p

PS-I too am not the best cook! I can do a pretty good Sunday lunch but a lot of other stuff I tend to over cook (I blame my mother!) or burn (I blame my oven!) :p
I'm good at baking though...especially in my own personal bakery! ;)

I also saw some great creations from sewinglady and igotfrogs. Did I miss anyone's else?
saltypixel good idea for a thread!
What do we do in the anonymous meetings?

So it's my turn. Exactly how much of a Farmerama addict are you?
Let's just say I can't answer that right now, because just after I finished my homework I connected to my farm and I can't stay longer, because I have to sleep nowxD:eek:

FifiTrixieBell...There's bad cooks and then there's my friend. She gets her own level of bad. Every time I want to make my husband look seasick, all I have to do is mention her meatloaf (it starts out as a liquid before she puts it in the oven - think "meat aspic") or her turkey stuffing (the consistency of kindergarten paste and as an added bonus, it tastes like it, too!). No wonder she often came to my house for dinner.

This is not to say that I am by any means a terrific cook. I'm passable. And I have gotten better - trial by, uh, fire and such. It only took me 20 years of marriage to figure out how to cook a beef roast without it being tough (hint - low and slow). Having my mother and MIL close after years of being a navy wife has certainly helped. The one thing I am utterly terrible at is pie crust. I can't make edible pie crust so I just use the pre-made stuff. And, I can't pinch it pretty...so the Queen will not be served pie if she ever comes for high tea at my house.

For all those wishing to improve their cooking, invest in "The Joy of Cooking" Irma S. Rombauer, Marion Rombauer Becker and Ethan Becker. Explains the "why" behind things. Easy meal to impress people (assuming pork is acceptable) is a pork tenderloin, cooked at 400 F. with a probe thermometer set to 141 F. Use 1 Tablespoon of Italian seasoning (oregano, etc.) in Olive Oil (Extra Virgin is best) mixed into a paste to slather over the meat. The probe thermometer will go off when it is done (about 1 hr for a double tenderloin). Let set for 5 minutes, slice and serve. Can also use an apple glaze.

There is a good pie crust recipe too.

I am tired, need a bath, have been on here for a lot of the day and still can't drag myself away...when's the next meeting Bee?? I'll be the one at the back with my eyeballs falling out my head :sleepy: and flies buzzing round me :wuerg: but at least I won't have missed anything on the farm!:p

Baking and cooking is fun as long as I don't have to use a recipe. Perhaps that's from the trauma of my last cookies: I wanted twice as many as the recipe called for and was told to just double everything. BIG mistake! First of all my oven doesn't go to 850 degrees, and I'm pretty sure 16-20 minutes cooking time didn't help things.....

On the up side..... they were still tastier and moister than that meatloaf!!!
