It's been blowing a gale up here in the East Midlands, UK. Went down street this afternoon and it was blowing that hard I could barely move forward at one point. Lost count of the amount of wheelie bins I turned back upright and put in peoples drives and last night all you could hear (apart from the wind howling and bins being blown over) was plastic refuse rolling about all over that had come out the bins....I don't like the wind!!!>:( (It's bin day today btw, that's why all the bins were outside the houses!)

I'm sure that the wind is why our city has HUGE bins on the alley that are communal - so they are generally too heavy for the 70 mph gusts to overturn. Funny how we're half a world away from each other and yet it's windy on both sides!

Our paths aren't big enough for huge bins. They can barely take the ones we've got :p. Where is it in America that's called 'windy city'?? ( I haven't just made that up through tiredness have I??):sleepy: o_O

Chicago is the windy city. Although it gets very windy in the Loop (downtown) because the buildings create a wind tunnel effect, I think the term windy city refers more to the hot air expelled by our politicians. xD

Surprisingly sunny today after 2 days of rain. But more is coming here in Oz. Ex tropical cyclone Nathan is moving across from Western Australia towards us in the East. Moving as slowly as it did while it was a cyclone. Yesterday some parts of inland WA got more than 110mls of rain apparently.

Windy again...heavy sigh. Gusts up to 35 mph (56 kph)...ugh. But, the sun is shining. Just not going to bother fooling with my hair - the windblown look is very popular here.

Yes, Chicago actually got that nickname from their politicians. For years, Great Falls was the actual windiest city in the US - I'm not sure if we still hold that distinction or not.

This afternoon (CST here), it is breezy, cloudy, and not too hot! This Central Texas spring weather has me falling in love with the place all over again!! (Until summer arrives)

Today is reining again and the temperature went down to 12 degree Celsius. I was sad because I don't like cold and rainy but then I was thinking the summer will come. I think I'm happy with cold and rain more :p

ewww. you can just keep that snow over on the east coast. I've had all the winter I can stand. Unfortunately, our temperature is dropping fast and we may get an last ditch effort at some snow overnight, here, too. ugh. Guess Mother Nature has one last April Fool's joke in her after all.

Well, according to the man on the gogglebox, someone in the UK is enjoying the warmest day of the year so far today. What I can tell you is that person is not me .... I have the heating on, I am still trying to warm up after getting thoroughly soaked and wind swept this morning and I am seriously considering going back to bed and having a 'Duvet Day'
