What did you get from Rhine and Jamaica Wonder Trees?

Thank you both for the offers on the pomegranates. I will keep them in mind. I reluctantly went ahead and purchased 4 more baha wonder trees...haven't heard from BP support about the four that went missing yesterday morning, and I'm guessing I won't until after this event is over.

Anyway, re the spending - I think we all have discovered there are things we just don't want to do without if we are going to play the game. I got several harvester subscriptions from the Easter bunnies and they just ran out overnight, so this morning I am back to poking everything to harvest and discovering what a HUGE help that harvester really is! I did win a coupon from a wheel spin, but I'm trying to save it for the next event. Premium silver, harvester... I think they do these promos and give-aways precisely so we will get hooked on these features enough to want to spend RL money on them! And, why wouldn't they? It's how BP stays in business. It's what we all want if we are in business: repeat long-term customers. It's what pays the bills.

 

Me please..I've only got 1 and would love 1 or 2 more!

Yeah, this time around they seem to be giving out a lot more of the rarest and newest. Trying to tempt the people saying they aren't buying back to it.

 

I got my first black thorn tree finally, still trying for 1 more, also got 2 sorbet trees, on the island I got 1 baobab, and 1 Buddha's hand, this time I did not spend real money, I just used my stock of BBs, now I have too many trees in stock that I can open a nursery or a shop (I wish), just hoping for G&T to come soon, if BP changed their mind.

For the issue of spending, what I am upset about is no matter what you spend, BP demands more and keep pushing by bringing new trees and animals, and the long-term players if they are not happy with what they are paying for, they reduce spending, if the situation continues, they eventually stop paying (not playing) what we have already is quite sufficient, beside, big part of the fun is here with the community, with the quest they brought lately(herbarium) if this is how the things are going to be, I see no motive to buy new things, just to stock it in the barn or sell it in the market, the old quests we have should keep us busy for a long time, until then who knows what might happen.

 

I remember a Huge Foodfight at the university - a Planned Event - those in the 'know' wore old clothes. But not me - trying to impress a girl... The cream pavlovas splattered the best!!
Note: A foodfight is not such a good first date......

 

HopalongCassidy, It is the PRINCIPLE of what BP has been doing, not that they have to earn money, as any good business must.

No one likes to be squeezed to pay more for things that are essential to a game advertised as 'free', such as for Power feed - i.e. The Mill problem of extended PF production times, and no more partial productions...even though we've invested the time...thereby "forcing" us to either lose what we're trying to mill, or else buy them instead, etc., etc. As any business will tell you - time is money. So, of course, we're feeling a bit 'robbed' by this.
None of us who do pay RL$$ mind doing so - AS LONG AS IT IS OUR FREE WILL TO DO SO, and we get what we pay for. This Mill coersion is just a last straw.
I, for one, choose to spend a good amount of RL$ on this game....that is until now. For all the reasons that have been posted over and over. While I bought a few trees, it was with BB's that I already had, and will spend no more RL$ until things sort themselves out, and a feeling of Principled Behaviour on the part of BP is restored.

Principle is a foundation of good business practice - and ultimately leads to a more successful business.

 

I purchased 2 of each pak and still have a while to wait, but Im afraid Im one of those farmers who is still new enough, and excited enough of my first tree event (and it may quickly become a fave) that I can hardly contain myself...or restrain myself

Well I was all set to be disappointed by the last 4 bahas...3 pistachios (meh) but the fourth one was an XXL Star Fruit! So I'll do the happy dance for that one.

Someone messaged me about the following being much sought after trees: goat, milk, eggs honeys and money (my fave) how is everyone doing with these? I have not seen a word of them, but mine are just short of harvesting, so maybe with some luck...(is there a lucky tree too?)

 

Out of 10 Baha and 10 Regular "wonder" trees, I got an Amerasia and a Blackthorn plum. A parrot feather is OK. The rest will all go back into storage.

Normally, I would have bought some BBs or bought the wonder packs directly. Its about the only way to ensure you get the new items.. at least one, anyway. However, not now....

That said, the number of people who ever show up in a forum for a game like this is only a very small percentage of those who play. The team will pay more attention to what is happening than to our words. I don't know if enough people are going to stop purchases to make a difference.

I look for the time when its no longer free to play farmerama...

As many have indicated, its almost there.. what with the need for the harvester and such.

HoppalongCassidy you are so right! And players have to know that to create a game it needs a team, and that team is not small and they have families too. But I understand the players too but I think it's not easy for both teams... My husband is a game designer and he works over the program often and he is not even pay'd for those hour's. So...

 

Those are all discontinued trees. You might be able to get some of them through the G&T event (tentatively in June), but the BB tree is not a trade item.

 

I was a little disappointed that I didn't get either of the new trees on my main farm, tho did get many of the "last time" trees, Loquats, Bhudda's Hands and Tamarinds, plus another Blackthorn. Then I was in my Baha inventory trying to decide what to put out, and discovered I'd gotten a Baobab tree and didn't even realize it .

 

Thanks CaliChrome This makes G&T even more exciting, as now I need to figure out how to tempt some higher level farmers into trading any extra they have in inventory........(thats not really my excited face...more like worried.)

 

Once the event is close, there will be a thread created that will allow you to post a wish list (don't do it early, it's not allowed). You might find that someone just gifts you something on your list. Polite requests do tend to get more responses than greedy ones. If you can build workshops that are in demand or have rare trees to offer, you can create a trade request to exchange for what you want. You can also search the offers made by others to see what they want for the items you are looking for. Items that were introduced in the 4 months leading up to the G&T will not be available to trade so the newest trees won't be useful in that regard.
