Definitely not, unless you have BB to burn... at least in my experience.

You can place it on shipwreck bay yes, but it still gives EP not BEP. The only items that give BEP on shipwreck bay are BEP items or EP/BEP items. Regular EP items will give EP even if they are placed on shipwreck bay :)

Thank you Elemeef! That was exactly what I was looking for but could not seem to find in the FAQ's.

Just as an interesting side note. For anyone wondering the reasoning behind the fact that "basic jelly" is made from apples there is a very good and valid reason for it. In order to make jelly you need fruit, sugar and pectin. In the old days of jelly making you had to make the pectin yourself and it is made from apples. Nowadays you can buy liquid or powdered fruit pectin to skip that step and make some very good jelly.

I happen to make and sell jelly and jam in RL and I have several old recipe books from my grandmother some of which include recipes that were passed down to her. I've actually taken the time to make apple pectin before, mostly out of sheer curiosity. The jelly that I then made using that pectin was some of the best I've ever made. Worth it for me to take the time for my families enjoyment but not economically sound to make it for sell.

So all of that to say that the "basic jelly" you are making is really the fruit pectin that is needed to make all the others gel properly. :)

I still make pectin from apples. If I run out, I use apple juice instead. Then I know what is in it. (and what is not.)

(I freeze the pectin in 4 oz quantities. Frozen concentrate works well too.)

A lovely tidbit of information, LD and take very good care of those books as they seem more like heirlooms now. Oh what I wouldn't do to have my mom or granny"s recipe books to make sweets as what they raised me on...and mom always said her preserves wouldn't sit on the shelf as long as store purchased,( for lack of preservatives)Little did she realize they didn't sit there due to my 4 brothers being boys and digging into them every chance they got. ;)

One small advantage to it being such slow going on Baha island to start is that at least I'm building up a back stock of the few items I am able to unlock. With such limited space to farm on that has to be part of the strategy and reasoning behind how hard it is to unlock items in the first place.

I know with the regular farm since I've been leveling up quickly it is quite a challenge to be able to fill the barn, fulfill FSQ's and keep up with all the new items I'm constantly having become available to me. So it's kind of nice that Baha is not pulling to much of my attention at this moment.

8)What wonderful information about jelly making!! :inlove: Wish you were my neighbors in RL....(it would instantly become more 'economically sound'!!)xD I, too, have my Grandmother's handwritten book of "receipts" as they used to call them sometimes. It is one of my treasures!

    Nice information!
I should have realized this. Some other fruits, like blueberries, have enough pectin inherent that you can skip the added pectin entirely. I used to make jellies and jam a lot, but recently have been too busy with other things. Plan to do more this summer and fall.

Apricots, I believe, have enough natural pectin to gel on their own. Others are very hard to get to gel. Chokecherries come to mind.

I don't want to get into strategy here, but you can buy quite a few passion fruit by selling just one parrot.

:( why are there no buffs that speed up the crops?! The event ends in an hour, and I have plants that won't be finished growing for 2

Manure, supergrow and water all reduce the grow time. If you have not applied them, they will reduce your speed by more than one half.

There are cloud rows that offer small reductions as well, but that doesn't help if you have not won them. There are some crop-specific buffs, but I don't know of any event crop speed-up. Sorry.

That's either Bp gremlins in the system, or the person only re-activated their account ten minutes ago..... (my guess)

Sounds like a good question for the mods in either the general or technical forums.

Is there anything more depressing than when your harverster functions run out? I can only imagine how time consuming it must be for the higher level players to harvest all their stuff without the harvester feature. *sigh* Probably why the monthly subscription fee is so high, huh?
