I have a question ...

For those of you using red punch or mango smoothies to help level up on Baha, what is the secret to getting more herbal elixir? I have my trophies at 27% extra drop rate, and I also have a cloud row giving 10/day or so. But short of spending BBs, is there any other way to get elixir?

I wish we'd get something definite about the new coral reef. I've carefully hoarded 59 GBs (and close to leveling again). I've put off opening the last chamber in case we need GBs for the coral reef. (And while they said the requirements to open it won't be high, BP has a very different standard of what's high compared to players.) It's going to be a little while before I get enough GB to actually open anything in the last chamber after it's opened, but it would be nice to know what we'll need for the coral reef.

 

alexis2112, There is the buff Lemongrass smoothie. It gives a 10% chance for more elixir drops for 6 hours. It does take a gold spot in your buff slots and after having tried it myself a few times I've not been very impressed with it. It's also pricey to make or buy.

Like TCRooster said, Have your neighbors send you them as gifts.

The Lemongrass Smoothie is Actually a Silver Slot Buff that Last 6 Hours. Yes it Does Give up to 10% More Chances of Herbal Drops when you Harvest your Farm. Here is Couple of Tips to Make it More Effective.

• Ensure Lemongrass Smoothie is used when Harvesting your Longest time Crops using 1x1 Fields
• Or When you harvest Field Full of your Highest EP Giving Fruit Trees But Takes 20 Hour to Grow
• Best Option is to Work on Refinements of Crops that Boost your Herbal Drop Rates, Use Lemongrass Smoothie
• If you happy to Use Comfort Fields as They can give twice as many Drops as Normal Fields Does but do Take Longer to Grow, Refinements of Water, Manure and Supergrow does Reduce Growing time significantly

 

My mistake Mooboy your right it does take a silver slot. Thank you for pointing that out Now I'm off to look at the refinement thread. I might have to give it another try.

Will haunt you when I get back to that refinement thing, tried 3x's and all failed, soon vary soon will get back to it building up my longer grow time crops now, figure I need some to just throw to the workings of refinements.

 

Thanks, Mooboy! I'm just starting to read about comfort fields. It sounds like they might be worth the effort, especially if I can get more herbal drops.

 

alexis, the benefit of lemon grass smoothie is very little, I wouldn't use it (except maybe under very special conditions). I usually get about 60 herbal elixir drops on my farm during 24 hours, 10% of that is 6.

Having the farm ready to harvest with long term crops, then farming for another 6 hours with the lemon grass smoothie, I would expect to get 6-10 herbal elixir extra. Not worth the cost at all in my opinion. To compare, a recent event cloud row gives me 20 herbal elixir per day...

Say you want to make red punch with the extra herbal elixir. To get twenty extra herbal elixir you need at least two lemon grass smoothies. In my market that would cost you 70k CC. Then you need the ingredients to make the punch, add another 10k CC to the cost. Instead you could have just bought a red punch for 12k...

About comfort fields: They take 4 times the normal time to mature, gives 3 times the normal harvest, twice the normal EP, and twice the normal drops. So normal fields give you twice the EP and more crops, if you can plant crops there for the same amount of time.

They serve a purpose in some situations: If you only have very short crops available on bahamarama you can plant on comfort fields over night. If you can't log in for some time, comfort fields might be a good solution. If you have trouble getting enough event drops, you can plant your longest crop on comfort fields to be ready when the event starts. Remember that during the event comfort fields are counterproductive.

That is Mir85 opinion on Using Lemongrass Smoothie. Saying it is not Worth it. But My Method can make it More Effective and Worth it to some of you but Must use my Methods. But it involves using Refinements There are Three crops that has refinements of Herbals

• Organic Cotton (20% More Herbal Drops) [Long Timed Crop]
• Leeks (20% More Herbal Drops) [Long Timed Crop]
• Chamomile (20 % More Herbal Drops) [Short Timed Crop]

You can either Grow Organic Cotton or Leeks as Long timed crops or overnight, but must have herbal refinement in Plant Refinery. Activate Lemongrass Smoothie Eat an PPP to Prolong it by 30%.

But if you happy to use Supergrow and use Supergrow Effective Formula using SG Love Supergrow Refinement too only on Organic Cotton or Leeks it very Effective this way using Comfort Fields. But is Takes a bit or Effort and some cost to obtain these refinements as i do refinements all the time.

It is not worth Making or Crafting Lemongrass Smoothie to be use to Boost Herbal Drops. Simply it cost more herbals to make then you would have gained !!!

But Refinement or Refinement/Supergrow is well worth using

 

Lemon grass smoothie is one thing, herbal elixir refinements is another and they work independently. Using the HE refinement doesn't make the lemon grass smoothie more effective.

Anyway, without using super grow, the herbal elixir refinement is not effective at all. The refinement increases the growing time, so that the HE you receive per hour almost doesn't increase at all. See this post.

On one point we do agree though: With super grow and super grow refinements (+ white innocence & fruit cake & the SG cloud row if you have it), both the HE refinement and lemon grass smoothie are worth it. In fact I am working on the cotton refinements right now to get the herbal elixir boost.

Many things can be tweaked into being effective with the right strategy and resources. For experienced players who know what they are doing it is fine. But you were giving advice to a relatively new player. That is why I offered my opinion.

Out of curiosity: How many extra herbal elixir can you get by using lemon grass smoothie without using any super grow?

Mir, I think comfort fields might help on days when I am away working for a long time (my schedule varies). I've also got the cloud row that gives 10 every 12 hours, but I never quite manage to get 20 in one day.

Mooboy, I've not even attempted plant refinements yet, but it's good to know which ones will eventually help with herbal drops. I really can't afford supergrow (except what I win), but little by little I feel like I'm learning more about the game every day.

Yes I agree Lemongrass it pretty much Pointless on it own. But it really needs to be more defined to what we put out on our farms to get as many herbals as we can. Thanks for Pointing out that you advising a newer player. I too Take this into consideration.

As you was asking about many herbals you could get using Lemon grass Smoothie without Supergrow. Well for Starters if any farmer is lucky enough to have any Jumbo Trees, Or XL Jumbo Trees or XXL Jumbo Trees. As we need to compare the outcome of herbal drops using 1x1 Fields or using Comfort Fields. Also another Method could be tried is herbal Refinements on Chamomile using Comfort Fields but it would increase growing time a bit but need to use other refinements plus use water and manure to reduce overall growing time a bit.

I would Totally agree that using Refinements and Supergrow Refinements is best way to Make Lemon Grass Smoothie Effective. I have done some refinements on Organic Cotton too but same as you Mir85 not got the herbal refinement yet.

The Cloud Row that gives 10 herbals Every 12 Hours Certainly Helps

I actually got a fair amount of Jumbo Trees Two Whole Fields worth of them. If I harvest these Jumbo Trees, using Lemongrass Smoothie then convert these into Comfort Fields than Activate Herbal and Supergrow Refinement and Supergrow Buffs of Fruit cake and White Innocence Plus Also The Supergrow Boosting Cloud Row. I have not tried this yet but when i get these refinements i would be Curious to see how many herbals I could get using this Method

Jumbo Trees are only available through a train event. We haven't had one in a long while.

I couldn't agree more with Mir in all she's been saying regarding this subject.

But anyway, let me add my 6 cents to say that I think the best way to get HEs is just not doing at all anything special to try to get them, and indirectly get them through buying the artisan products.

In other words, to change the mindset to one that sees a larger picture and realizes that it's impossible to get/produce oneself everything needed for doing everything oneself at the same time. And a compromise must be found, otherwise this game becomes a job. The only way to mediate all needs is by making CCs with what is efficient as a CCs-making source and invest the proceeds in what is not.

Since the objective is getting B-EPs through artisan products, then it should be taken into account what each of them involve, not only the HEs. Under this light, for instance, given that I take Red Punch as my measuring parameter -I explained this months ago in page 1 of this thread-, I can tell you that, as of now, I can still buy RP from my mkt at roughly 11/11,8K CCs each -and I do-. The cost of making one -based on my current market prices- stands at near to 11K CCs if I don't assign any virtual cost to HEs (I must not, since I have a 60+K stock of them), which tells me that it's better to buy it than to craft it. Anyway, I do make some of them from while to while. Mango-orange smoothie, instead, is much cheaper to make than to buy for me, by about 30%. I buy it though whenever I can find it at below 32K CCs -my cost of making it stands now at around 20,5K CCs without assigning cost to HEs- because at that price it's in line with the rule 1 MOS = 3 RPs, and I also make it from while to while.

I wouldn't bother with Lemongrass Smoothie either. I just make it from time to time for sale when it's profitable to. Not now. My current cost for making one is around 39K CCs -w/o HEs cost- but I could easily get it from mkt if I wanted one for less than 32K.

Regarding refinements, as I said may times, I could not find yet any real benefit luring enough to me so that I jump to try them. The only thing that made me think of them seriously has been so far the possibility of getting more event drops through using them but I really don't need any additional boost of that kind of drops so it doesn't make any sense to me. (Actually, I don't need any boost of any kind of drops: I get more than enough through normal farming, of all of them, including tools). Besides, I'm a conservative guy regarding the use of SG and that's why I never plant my SG jumbo trees, except for megaEP or Happy Tree days.

In short, my advice is to realize that sometimes it's better to buy (and, therefore, it must be figured out how to raise the CCs to fund those purchases). I find this especially true in Baha related items, just because space is so limited there and so much is needed. There's no other way to cope with so many stressing requirements than going to mkt for help. I simply refuse to transform this game into a job.....
