Thank you Clash... lovely to know :)

Delighted to report little Lotte is really rallying, even exploring away from her mother :) Fingers crossed.

Katya is STILL a Lady in Waiting, although, yet again she had me worried with a warmish day, slightly heavier breathing and when she is regurgitating to chew the cud, it looks so similar to the first few contractions... Hence been on watch for most of the day!!!

Ana (now 12 months) in picture, seems to think I should get Wilma, my old tractor out to mow the paddocks - not sure my biceps are ready (she hasn't power steering) and Boris has crushed my brand new incinerator, just for fun...
It's hard to express what characters reindeer are... playful, loving, mischievous and surprisingly intelligent.
Hopefully very, very soon a Katya calf... My nerves are shredded!

GO LOTTE GO!!! :inlove::inlove::inlove: It seems Katya wants to keep our calf all to herself. Someone needs to have a talk with her! The longer she keeps it, the BIGGER it gets! LOLOLOLxDxD

Still on the waiting game for Katya's calf... can't believe it, as her udder has been full for days...

But the good news is Tiny baby Lotte has made it to her 1 week Birthday, against the odds! :) She may be tiny BUT is a real fighter.. I am actually starting to believe she will make it..

Katya again had me on close watch today, which I am delighted about as I watched Lotte galloping around the paddock, introducing herself to Katya and galloping off again... A wonderful day! :)
    Picture is Lotte's Birthday breakfast.
Didn't take video of her cavorting as I was too busy watching!

What a cutie! She needs to grow so she can get a better grip on that udder!

She is tiny! When lying down it is hard to tell but standing next to her mom makes her look pocket size! Can I put her in my pocket?:p She would fit in carry on luggage on the plane;):p I am really happy to hear she is doing better. Sounds like a new arrival any time and then you can sleep through the night again.:)

Still no Katya baby but the update on Lotte.

She is turning me grey with her antics....
This morning's dawn check found her in the wrong paddock (visiting her aunts) not sure how she did it. Either pushed her way through the stock netting or rolled under the gate! No harm done, just a stressed mother and a hungry calf.
During the day I have watched and seen her with head through fence (attached picture) but also have a video of her thinking of getting under gate - so I am none the wiser how she did it! She certainly is getting stronger in body and character!

Fantastic news about Lotte. I do wish Katya would hurry up - I'm like an excited auntie!

At least she is small enough to easily get her back to her mom! :p

(Had to do that once with a new foal who wasn't very co-operative, was in the woods and the only way back was to unceremoniously dump him back over a barb wire fence. I could barely lift him to do it and had to make sure no one got tangled up all the while his mom was unhappy on her side of the fence. The next time she had a foal, she was in a foaling stall long before she was due. Sneaky mare.) xD

Think this is the video of her other potential escape route... Now has barricades under gate, just in case!

I'll bet she can get through between the rails as well as underneath. The grass is always greener.... ;)

I see you don't need to hire a gardener to prune your trees! xD

Just so they don't fly up into them. :wuerg: xDxD

    Thank you for the updates.:)

Fencing for reindeer is not a barrier - just a step ladder to reach higher levels! Eeek!

It's a boy born this am!!! And a huge one, already bigger than Lotte (who will be 2 weeks tomorrow) - 12 1/2 lbs (5.68kg)...
Have been giving them bonding time, now back out to check he's feeding...

This one is pale brown but with a large white blaze and nose.
Pictures not great, will take a better one later
