I have looked and I did not see any like it, if I am wrong please close and accept my sorry for making work for you, but really, I did not find any thread as this.

    Hi fellow farmers.

I have been noting things and trying to do better, see where I am wasting items and all around fixing things as I muck them up.

One thing that is really starting to trip me up is the FSQ’s
In the beginning, I sailed right threw, had no issues have no falls, then other things came into play, longer crops to raise, events, the low barn…and more.

I started to notice a pattern in my FSQ’s, as I now no longer could just do one to the end, I was doing them as I could fit requirements in here and there, add to the list of will do that crop soon….. yeah.

But what has really got me is the Noah’s Ark, you would think it was the time limit thing, the list of needs the plain wow of it but noooooo, it’s has been the time to do it plain like.

I start it and half way through an animal slam, I am out of feed for someone, or an event needs all fields or I just will not be around to harvest in the remaining time, or the one I love myself for, forgetting I was doing it and the time ran out now go back and do it all over again, I swear I heard the game laugh.-.-

I have now moved everything off the table, no matter what happens I will get the last two animals done!
I must have started the horses 6 times before I at last got it done.
This has really added to the I am so lacking list I can tell ya.

I am really interested in what has been your waterloo <impassable point> what had you stumped as to stopping the quest and what did you get to that worked or had you avoiding that FSQ like the plague?

Well for the longest time, it was the hungry bats for the magic beanstalk quest (under special quests). I think I finally just got frustrated, and bought them when I had over a mil CC. Then it was the next stage. I managed to breed two wild boars and this morning I bought the third. Almost wiped out my CC stash, but I finished that quest and finally opened the beanstalk. The giant did not appear and I have survived the journey.

I haven't even started most of the timed quests...save for restaurant. And in fact, I am working on level 8 right now. Just about ready to harvest the celery, then I get over an hour to grow lettuce and carrots. I think I can do it.

Sometimes it isn't the quests that frustrate me so much as it is the customers in the other section. They want things I am not willing to give up. So then I go days without selling anything to them, and the number of offers goes down. Phooey. So now I try to fulfill at least one offer a day to each of them. Some of them give a lot of EP so I don't mind so much fulfilling those offers. It's the ones that don't offer much in the way of EP or CC that I tend to ignore and let fall to one or two offers.

I also have pretty much ignored the comics section. That first requirement is a doozy. Now I see we are about to get a new comics quest. I didn't do the last one at all. Just sold manure and cuckoo food. Made a tidy profit doing that. Going to look at what this new one entails and see what I will do...

sewinglady, the comics section of the Farmer's Society and the Comic Events are unrelated. Forget the first but do the second. The cloud row awarded will be a nice addition to your new beanstalk!

I just read the FAQ on this new event all the way through...and you are right. I checked and I have over 2,000 wood boards so I should be good to go for this one! Whee! I'll take a CAC every 48 hours...no problemo!

Do I ever hear this one, I knew I had to get that open and no matter what I did I just could not get the animals needed, only one I did was the bull and that was from the tree after a really helpful farmer reminded me that it was able to be gotten with stars. Went broke opening that lol, still trying to recover.
But it was worth it, the few things I got really help.

I opened that at one time, did ok for awhile, then got flattened haven't been back since. Will try again when my CC's are better.
It really was beyond me a few weeks ago, may try again soon.

I got chewed up and used as wall puddy.
Failed/proved unworthy, sent back to the kiddy table and I didn't even get half done.

really? well then, off to find this other comic.......

Hey Keltic! Good question! I've seen you around trying to learn everything you can. :music:

I have to say, for me, there hasn't been a Waterloo in any of the FSQs. It's taking me f o r e v e r to do some of the tougher ones, or the ones with high number requirements, but I just pluck away at them a little bit each day until they are done! I don't let them get to me or stress me out. My approach to this game I like to think is unique. I have a gift card that I load $5 on per month. That is my RL money budget. I mostly buy BBs for the PF packs during BBDs. The FSQs are there, and are going to be there.

When doing the timed quests I come up with a strategy before going in. The longest required crop and/or animal is prepared and ready to harvest before I start the timer and I make sure I can be around for the rest. I'm working through the "Party in Paradise" one right now. My current SLOW untimed one is Picky Pirate...I'm stuck on the 3rd level, I have 4 Blackthorn trees, so that's easy. The Sakura blossoms came in and were done before anything else, but those Loquats!!!! I have 1 tree, so I can get 4 (or 6 if I use SSG) a day. **SIDE NOTE: Sewinglady, we share a market, how many do you have and what do you need!?!?:p:p**

I just don't let it stress me, I'll get there in time.

In general I choose 3 FSQs to work on, and use the sorting function so I'm not even tempted by the rest. A mix of Baha and regular is obviously the way to go. Grow and harvest the shorter time items during the day and set in the longer ones before bed. Don't let those FSQs get ya!!

The EVENTS are my Waterloo. Or were.... I've managed to get to a comfortable level on the farm and can get most of them completely finished. (Man, I'll tell ya, I was sweating the Swiss event. It came down to the wire and I needed ONE MORE drop, I spent the 2 BBs to get it. xDxD)

Good luck to all in conquering your own personal goals!!!

For the timed quest, it is better to plant your field and start the timer only when the harvest is ready, that saves a lot of time, I did not bother with PJ and CAC because the quantities were small, at later stages they became handy, but for Noah's ark it needs a different approach, the feed must be ready before the timer start, and I found the safest way is to have a number of stalls equal to half the required animals unless there is orange upgrades that gives 2 animals or even pink for 3, I was not lucky that time to have pinks, what I did was putting the stalls before I go to sleep with food and water, in the morning I start the quest if the stalls are ready then I harvest and it is just another round, some stages I used orange upgrades with classic II stalls because they have a short time to harvest and I can do 3 or 4 rounds with those, any way I am done with all these timed quests, they are history, only 4 quest now for me that I consider them to be my nightmare, soup and friends, castles in the sand, no rest on the farm, and garden expo, that leaves only the breading quests which is a delayed project, may be in another lifetime.

Yeah, that be me :p I like this type of game, a friend told me about it and that it was not like others, they were beyond me, this one is more layed back not all get the tower talk to 60 people aim for.... so far I am being easy about it....;) most of the time that is.

Yeah, I do this too, I see it as I need them new animals I don't have any lol, so for now I pay and love every new thing in my barn.
I say it out loud, I do pay, as I am a 3rd party player, <wish I had known I would have so not continued this way> so BB's for free are not an option.
Snickers, I feel that, I got one Rowan tree and need like 100 or 400 from it, it will be a quest I have around for a while lol.
I will not buy them from market, even if I had the CC, it is not like I don't have 20 other quests I can do while waiting.

The Swiss will always be the 1st one I failed horrible on, I didn't know enough, now will always have the bean row all shaded out and a flag to show me, look what happens when you mess up stuff?

It is fun, I cannot say it enough, with all the fumbles the what am I doing and where am I moments.
Like now, I thought the event coming up had something to do with pandas, thought I could sit out due to not having any lol, now I read it's a drop and grow one well, now starting to pull all my pens up....-.- Didn't I just say I was going to finish the last two animals no matter what? :music:I meant I would finish one animal and do the last next week ya, that's what I meantxD

Abubadi - that soup & friends is not that bad until you get to the diamond tiers. Holy cow! It wants the highest animals you can breed! And I can't afford to buy them...so it's gonna have to be a skip on a future BBD for me.

I've got to start looking at what I'm going to pull out for this event starting tomorrow. I think I'll have to completely revamp Bahamarama (I've been growing tree fruit like crazy) and the fen, or whatever that swampy looking one is full of trees and animal pens right now. As things become harvestable, I think I'll pull 'em out and put in fields...At least we have a full day's notice.

sewinglady I so agree, I admit I almost (seriously) spent everything I could and sold as much, for that quest~only to not finish. You also have the right idea of replacing pens now and getting ready for the event tomorrow. I m on holiday so I sure hope to finish...the only cloud rows I really care for is the event rows (although I was tempted into quite a few more) so this will be exciting!

I completely ignore the customers in Farmers Society with the exception of Naomi Camel who I occasionally fill an order for. I just don't think the rewards are high enough for what they want.

It felt like the "baked from scratch" FSQ was my nemesis while I was doing it and I was so relieved to finish it but then I started "garden expo" and quickly realized that baked had been a cake walk in comparison. ;)

I'm currently working and focused on the "guess who", "wool", "giddy up" "angora frenzy" and truffles FSQ's. I'm producing the items and raising the animals myself and I'm doing pretty good so far. I'm thinking I will move all of this on to one field and take out all the other animals I'm raising for stock and just use the two open fields for the upcoming event. The "guess who" is feeling a bit hard but mostly due to the roosters. I've only got one pen and they take forever. So even if I drop some of the other animals that rooster pen is staying on the field no matter what.

I'm a very goal oriented person so long term planning is the best thing for me. I still feel like I'm working on easy FSQ's though. I've only completed the "restaurant" timed quest and I've done half of "petting zoo". Once I get back to the garden expo though I know I'm going to be pulling my hair out over growing those vast numbers of longer timed crops. I don't even want to think about the other one waiting in the wings "no rest on the farm". o_O

I hear ya, but one thing I learned the hard way <is there any other way?> some of those org. are longer than a reg. stall, almost got me on time on them, lucky I drool after the picture of the red queens chicken picture, and started buying enough stalls to cover a field I had a few to spare luck, just lust luck.
I am still hunting down a pink, I thought I could get it on cuckoos no dice, got the mask, but only one maybe next BBD.

Lol, yes, I have trees and animals no matter it stays, I just built the donkey forge and that little thing takes forever, that stays.
I am going to do all timed ones as I like them to tell the truth, I may stomp my foot but it's fun to see if I can finish or crash and burn again and back to the beginning.

Yeah, I figure I will take on those long crops when I get the LL I think anything will be help, they will be a challenge.

even the gold steps with the big amount of products still too much, I agree it is not like the diamond but still big, I was lucky to have cow milk trees and honey trees, and a very good stock, but the koi fish, riding lessons, ostrich eggs and cooking pots, they need a lot of time.

I am on the final stages of these 2 quests, for months I have been trying to finish them, what prevents me is the amount of events that comes and not time in between to work on these specially with the 16 to 18 hours crops, finishing these is a major achievement, and when I do finish I feel I have to treat my self with something special, and I can't wait for that day to come.

@100kelti, yes they take longer, but it is one round only if you follow my step and harvest when you start the timer, the time is enough for one round using orange or pink and it reduces the number of stalls you need.

The ones that feel the hardest to me are the trophy ones both farming contest and country fair. I've got up to the levels now that it is just painful to have to sacrifice so much to move up. The animal isn't so bad as cuckoos are still a good option but wow that crop one is a killer. Yes I'm using tree fruit for it but still you have to spend a fortune to get enough of the low priced fruit to fulfill those levels. Who knows when I will ever get that one finished or even half way finished.

I do it the easy way, I picked a higher fruit, takes less, check the prices regular, cry loud real loud  click on yes I want to throw XX CC's down the trophy black hole, and cry again. :cry:as I take another lot of 500 to 1000 items and kiss it goodbye.
Food I am on 12, animal 11 I know the really bad ones are right after 12 on both, But by then I hope to be numb from the brain to the CC's.

My nemesis are Garden Expo & No rest on the Farm, they always seem to want the same crops at the same time. I'm level 8/10 on expo & 5/7 on no rest, so slowly getting there.

tamarind & kohlai are really slow going too with only 1 tree of each

I found with the trophies, breed something easy like elephants or parrots and sell them, use the funds to buy better value animals or fruit to donate to the quests. the final 2 levels on the animal trophy seemed to take forever.
slowly plodding through tour de farm ATM, but with only 2 platypus it's taking a long time, finally opened part II yesterday and the tortoise will tyake a while too.
I'm trying to finish my breeding quests and other open ones before doing to any more - need just 1 more top level animal on several breeding quests now, only finished pigs.

I did say I would quit when I finished them all, but BP must have heard me and keep introducing new ones lately to keep me here :D

i guess i just have a different mind set, i grew quite a bit at the start but not anymore. i buy everything from the market. most of my time is spent trying to get the biggest bang for my time. what can make me the most amount of cc in a 2x2 plot for a 24 hr period. then i sell it and buy everything i need.
i have finished 19 quests so far, the latest being opening gala 1. 450 tamarind to go and i finish picky pirate, trying to restrain myself from spending more than 3300/fruit. i have 1 tree but too slow. would have finished a few more product quests like theater on farm, guano, and giddy up but someone is buying them all up and driving up the price quite a bit. completed 4/5 of what a relief but last stage is too scary to start buying right now. garden expo lol, tough one, i have completed 5/10 and will take a break from it for awhile.

my waterloo will be the timed quests. have only done the restaurant. since i only concentrate on producing a few items it will be a very long time before i buy the necessary pens or workshops to complete them. breeding quests, those will take years for me since i dont buy pf. or until i make enough cc to buy them all. baha is holding up a few fsq also. there are a few items further down the statues that need to be opened.

farmers society customers? i stopped doing those awhile ago. way too expensive. you can buy artisan products for ep for a fraction of the cost. LL rune, sitting @ 24% can bump it up too 26% but dont think its necessary just yet.

biggest bang for my time? i spent 16 hrs straight one day growing wheat every 10 mins. 187k wheat in the barn, made over 2 million cc selling it all. plus sugarcane in baha. if i had the stamina i would do that all the time. but would get very boring very fast.

I can feel that, this is helping in keeping me broke in CC I get to an amount and bang, more workshops more things for the farm, granted, once I get the stuff I am so happy, it's just I get locked at that amount I hit it and down, up then back I hope soon I will see a mil.

The highest I got on wheat is 30k, I keep going up to that amount then go elsewhere and live off it till it hits 15k and do it over, I think I will try your way, I want more CC's!

I will tell ya, I find the more farmers share the more I find myself thinking in the box, for the longest time I could not see why so many doing the refinement for roses, I could not find anything that needed them, eats them nutt'in then just yesterday, someone just said getting fast crops gets more drops-.- one would think, this would have come to me, but no, I find I have another type of waterloo as to getting over my own thinking while looking at this game.
I find it fun to get the stuff done, challenge myself, it is not all that but I am having a ball finding the ways to go about things here.
Who would think the biggest hurdle would be myself?

The only way I can see to get over these waterloo's is to stop, and redo the working's I have applied to the farm, I got alot of redo's to do and I will start with the quests, and getting the items to work with them, not try to concur8) them.

I think the MM quests are currently my Waterloo, because I need the plants to enable bat breeding and also to get dog feed and also have enough to complete the quests. There never seems to be enough time, and it almost always happens on days when I cannot be on for long.
The other one really painful is the trophies, it is painful to give all those animals.:cry:

And the breeding quests, I have managed to come to level 7 or 8 on most of them, and now every BBD I cross my fingers hoping for skips. :p

As soon as I return from my vacation, I plan on completing all the timed quests so I can have them out of the way. I am not looking at castles in the sand or soup and friends right now.
