I'd leave them. You won't need the glade right away for planting event crops and the drops should still be okay. You have two other fields for planting long crops. JMHO.

We Would need to Produce on Average 82 Sea Plumes Daily Over The Six Day Event of Ocean Day. But it will be Slow Start to build up Stock of Seaweed to We can Produce Enough Seaweed to Fill our Fields and Keep Mill Busy Producing Plume Feeds. But this Daily Average will drop as many of us will be unable to harvest Plume Pools over Night.

From my Calculations we will Be Needing at Least 21 Plume Pools to Make from the Workshops. We have to Harvest These 21 Plume Pools at Least 4 times per Day Generating 84 Sea Plumes. But this Average will be Higher as we have to build up stock of Seaweeds first and Mill Plume Feeds before we can make a start on this. The 4 times harvest is based on 16 Hours that we are awake daily. So The overnight part they become idle. Or Be Converted to Grow Something Else. Which Most of Us will have to do. As we need to maintain good drop rate of Sea Salt Needed which we need to Make Plume Feeds, All 490 of Them.

These Plume Pools are 2x2. The 8 Hour Gap if unable to harvest overnight. I will Plant Anacondas since they only take 8 Hours to grow. Then Replace them with Plume Pools Again the Following Morning. Then Repeat the Process. Until I have enough Sea Plumes. The Main Field, Glade and Green Meadow will be Seaweeds until I grow 17,300 of Them.

But if we fall Below this Average of 82 Sea Plumes Daily. We would need to Make More Sea Plumes to Make up for the Short Fall if it happens. There is a Summer Giveaway will be starting just like Christmas Advent, during Ocean day we might get Extra Sea Salt or Sea Plumes Help us with this Event Have to Wait and See. But we have to keep Close eye on how well the Drop Rate Performs during this Event

I Hope The Drop rate will be good for All of Us. ;)

If you really want the cloud row and you still have time to plant a long growing crop that's what I would do. As you have read this post you have noticed the very experienced players keep saying the hardest part will be the drops... I get WAY better drops from a field of cotton [about 20 on 1x1's] [watered, manured so it doesn't take too long] then I do any field of workshops/pens... if you aren't trying for the cloud row thing then it doesn't matter cause as Sweet Cassie mentioned you have plenty of room to get the event crop started on the other fields.
I'm not that experienced but boy am I good at not getting enough drops on these events in the past:p

My plan is to remove the plume pools overnight and plant ginger (10 hour crop watered becomes 8 hours) which will match the overnight time of the event crop if it becomes necessary to grow it overnight. My plan is to only grow the event crop during the day and longer ones overnight unless I either fall short or need to speed up the crop to mill it. Everything will depend on the drop rate and I, too hope it will be good for all of us.

One tip that I got from my neighbor is to wait to send out my daily gifts. I typically do them at the reset but will wait until tomorrow morning after the event starts to help my neighbors/friends rather than send the daily gift tonight (in about 1/2 hour).

    Good luck!

    fifi,

Definitely leave the workshops in the Glade: don't delete them to replace them with 1x1 plots with long crops. This is not because workshops (or any stable, for this matter) will yield better drops than 1x1s -they don't, in my experience; 1x1s are better- but because you'd lose the time you already "stored", the one elapsed since you put the workshops on the Glade, if you'd do otherwise, which will turn in your favour at the time of harvesting after event start. Just be sure to harvest them after that. They'll most probably yield one event's drop each (or almost), if these workshops have longish times to maturation.

Oh dear!! I think they may have finally come up with a cure for my FOCD! WOW! I'm going to give it a go, but I don't see too many people finishing the event completely! Thank you all for your contributions with the numbers and strategies!!

Thank you Aluntino but you're a bit late I'm afraid as after some umming and arring I decided to delete most of the workshops and stables to place 1x1's even though some of them didn't have long left on them :sleepy:.
I wouldn't have been able to harvest them til after work tmr anyway and I wanted to get a good shot at the drops. If the requirements weren't so high I would've left them but decided not to risk it! Thanks for your input though!

I did this a lot but now I have it written: before planting events, remember it only takes 10 1x1's at 1st, they need to grow. Use the rest of the plots on same field with something that has the same amount of time, all other fields do longer crops for drops, as it will be hours before you have enough to plant event stuff on them.

And remember self... it is ok to delete a few squares at this stage than have nothing growing at all.

Yes, I have to have a dummy book next to me, just to remember things as this.... And the math peeps here wounder why i don't trust myself to do calculations:p

Considering the event crop time and the drops needed, this definitely will be a hard one to complete. I will put my best foot forward and I may have to pick and choose which rewards will best suit my needs. I will still give it a go! Thankfully, they offer stars for the first couple of levels... yay! Good luck everyone and thank you all for your input and break down of what is necessary. I definitely get overwhelmed until I look at all your different strategies.... every bit of information is helpful.

    Fifi,
I think you will be happier in the long run that you have crops that you know will give the best drops. I find it so frustrating to get through an event and not have enough drops I will do whatever necessary if I need to to avoid that feeling... I'm just too cheap to buy drops so I make sure I have enough... feed is way cheaper to replace then having to buy drops or that horrid terrible feeling... 'oh dear will I have enough drops' LOL.
I wish you luck in the event... may you have tons of drops and be able to achieve your goals whatever they are!!!

my strategy for this one will be ..... apply buffs ..... grow all the crop needed to mill the required food ..... (hope that i get the drops needed for the food) plus the extra needed to fill all the 3 grounds .... then mill all the required food .... start in small amounts so i can get some pens on the ground ... and plant like crazy .... will NOT donate anything until i get to the end of the required amounts needed ... then i'll have a idea if i can make it or not .... i hope i can ... but we'll see

I must be tired and can't seem to think and calculate. Could someone please run through event crop times for 8 hr crop.
Example 8 hrs - water - manure - sg - white innocence - fruit cake

    Thank you in advance.

At event end I'll plant the seeds, do not harvest them, plant so close the system will not give more seeds, and finish with exactly -0- seed junks in my barn

    Hi Frogs,

Take part? Well you can bet your funny looking frog hop I am!

I'm going to start it off by send you a mailbox full of Wilsons to help you on your farm. And that Labmommy too. hahahaha

    Wilson.....hahahahaha

And I know for sure farmers will need to spend a few ccs with their high hopes of getting the drops ..... (event is set up for credit card use though...... bwaaaaaaaaaaaa) So I need to have trophy animals ready to go. I might be able to come up with 1 or 2 cuckoos and ah doggie or two. whaaaaaaaa hahahaha

And I need to make certain there is enough white innocence available at a fair price of course 8)8)

Then I think I'm going to plant one potato for the M6 quest. And I'll try and do that goose quest again. With one goose pen I'm in bad shape though.

And I think I'll start a new farm in memory of this event: brokes_ocean xDxDxDxDxDxD
