I wanted to post this earlier, but I was exhausted from the events that happened with me during my travel, a Trip should take 2 and 1/2 hours maximum, but the series of events that happened with me was outrageous, I don't wish that for any one. they say the lightning never strikes in the same spot again, and that was proved wrong, it may hit twice and three times even more according to the scientists, and so bad luck, some times it imposes itself as a heavy guest that refuses to go , on the contrary, it insists on staying and take it's time unit it decide to go by itself, you are welcome to share your experiences here and so I will start:

I was anticipating my vacation and counting the days so I can leave on April 19th, only to be told by the company I can't get the visa, My passport is going to expire soon and the law does not allow the visa to be issued unless there is 3 months minimum validity, so my choices were to send it to the embassy for renewal and that takes more than 60 days, or send it home, so I send it to my mom and she managed to renew it and send it back, bad luck is warming up here.

I went to Bahrain on may 19 to stay for three days and fly from there to home on 21, I took my lap top so I can play the game there, when I reached, I played 1 hour and the game broke and I could not log for almost 2 days, that was a foreplay.

on may 21 my flight went ok until we started the descending to Amman Airport, it was a roller coaster ride, a heavy air turbulences were shaking the plane violently, the passengers got scared badly, and my stomach started to heave, the plane was dropping just like the roller coaster then going up, it stayed for around 15 minutes, that's strike one, we landed safely and the plane was heading to it's parking, then the control tower called and informed there is another late plane there so they directed us to another lot, then they change their minds and told the pilot to hold the ground until there is space, so we were locked for 45 minutes and it was hot, it was really bad, after that they send a car to pull the plane to the new park, the families were worried from the delay and the passengers start to receive calls from there families, my family called too, any way we managed to leave the plane, and that was strike two.

strike three was at the check up point, were the police check the passports, and stamp the entry, I was the last on the line, and at the counter the police stopped me and called me to the security room, so I followed him there and he told me wait outside, he refused to give me any information, and after a few minutes an officer came and they start to ask questions, then they told me you can leave and rest, but the central intelligence were asking for me, so I have to go to them, I tried to know why, or wither my names is confused with a wanted terrorist, and they gave no answer, just go and rest and within a week go and visit them, and you can Imagine what that did to my mind.
I cleared the customs and took my bags and walked a long way to get a taxi, I was very tired and I have a heart condition that does not allow me to walk much or fast, then I noticed my bag was heavier, I barely can pull it and I though may be because I am tired, when I reached a Taxi and the driver carried the bag to the trunk he started to curse, so I told him stop, I opened the bag just to find it was not my bag, an Identical bag with the same color, and I snapped then, oh my gad, I had to go back again to the check point and get a clearance and a permeation to enter and look for my bag, in hope that nobody had take it, that took from me around 1 hour and could not walk any more, I found a good hearted man who helped me get the permeation, I finally made it there and found my bag near the costumer services, and the man who put it there was on the flight with me and setting next to me, so I understood that it was his bag that I took, I apologized for him, and he told me I was lucky he did not leave because he is from Syria and going to other city, it would be very hard to exchange the bags if he left, and it may take days, and I laughed because he said I am lucky, if only he know what I have been through, and that was strike four, I have enough for one day, but the bad luck stayed with me for a few more days, I should tell you about my visit to the central intelligence, bat that is another story for another day.

Perhaps if you turn it round and look at the good luck you did have. Your mother did get your passport to you in time. Even if the plane was a roller coaster and delayed, it landed safely with no injuries. You picked up the wrong bag, but even though you had to take it back, The kind man helped you with the 'permit' and the man hadn't gone to Syria with your luggage, and so you were able to exchange without any more hassle.

Sometimes we see the thorns, when we should be smelling the roses.

The whole Central Intelligence thing is making me feel nauseous just thinking about it. :wuerg: How horrifying to have that little visit hanging over your head for days.

I worked in the travel industry for more than 20 years so I've got my share of bad traveling stories. Some embarrassing some frustrating and one truly harrowing, mostly though you do have to try to look at the positive side of things as Hopalongcassidy suggested. :)

Worst ever that happened to someone I knew was the lost luggage with a whole frozen salmon in it. By the time it was returned, the entire bag just went straight into the trash - the stench was horrendous - rotten salmon.

I did have a really bad day on Tuesday, though. I almost got booted from Starbucks for life. When I first got to the counter, I plopped my purse down to rummage for my card, which needed reloading...and I knocked over their display that was right there in front of the register. Then, after I got my drink, on the way out, I slung my purse over my left shoulder (I generally carry it on my right), and promptly whacked a sign as tall as me and flung it to the floor. I apologized profusely and left before I could destroy any more of the store.

Some days, it's just not worth getting out of bed. Tomorrow is going to be different. It's the opening day of Farmer's Market and I have decided it's going to be a wonderful day. Nothing but calm, clear weather and lots of happy people. Maybe if I keep thinking it, it will come true.

abubadi66 this was really terrible. I admire your stamina to even handle these events as well as you did, anyone would be horrified at being brought into security rooms or wherever they took you. You were alone too? Goodness, I would think of having vacation at home and have anyone else come visit me next time! That would keep me clear of flying again in the future...(Im a bit of a scaredy cat anyway)

The last event things did not go well as planed, even I finished the event with 23 hours left on the event timer, because of my health, last Thursday night I gave my family the scare of their life not on purpose, it is just around 12:30 after mid night I was snoozing over the couch and woke up and went to the kitchen for a cup of lemon juice, when I bent down on the fridge I felt something in my head, I stood up and hold the cup and started to walk, and it hit me again in the head, and in the chest, so I leaned on the counter then to find my sister waking me up, I was lying on the floor sleeping and the juice was all over me, and I did not feel anything, she talked to me and I did not grab the situation, it seems she heard me falling, so I sit on the floor for a few minutes and I tried to stand and go change my clothes and fell again unconscious, so she woke me up again, and I did not remember falling, finally managed to go wash and change and sleep, Friday they cancelled our plans and we stay home to watch over me, but I was better, also Saturday, so I went to the lab for blood tests as the doctor requested, but Sunday I was really in a bad shape, I was dizzy all the time and could not walk, every time I stand up my head feels heavy, and my heart was beating very fast for any movement I do, It was a very hot day, and I was sweating and did not get a good sleep the night before, my uncle is a doctor, he came at night and did some check ups and found that my blood pressure was very low, it was 80/70, and the reason is the (duraxes) medicines the doctors gave me to extract water from the body, he stayed around 2 hours with me, checking my pulse and BP every while, and they gave me some fluids, until the effect of the medicine waned and my BP started to rise, so the past few days I could not concentrate and play much, hoping I will be better soon and have some activities.

P.S: I wanted to continue my story about bad luck and my visit to the Intelligence, but my health did not allow me, so be in 2 or 3 days I can continue.

Thank you all for your feeling and your lovely words, I was thinking if that happened while I am in Saudi Arabia, there might be no one to help me and it would have turned bad, it happened a few years back there but for different reasons, I had a mattress on the floor and I had a fever, so I took of my PJ because I was feeling hot, the fever dropped and I felt cold, so I tried to stand up to put on some clothes but I could not, I called 2 friends on phone to come and help and did not get any answer, it was a week end and they were out, I fainted on the floor for about six hours then woke up with the shivers, it was past midnight, I crawled like a baby and found something to grab and went to bed, but the next day I was better, that was some nasty experience but compared to this it looks like a walk in the park, I guess I should expect this more often now especially when approaching your fifties.

hope you feel better abubadi66, reaching 50 is still young. your symptoms can be caused by many things, get yourself to a doctor and properly diagnosed. always get a second opinion and a third.
stressing over what happened at the airport is never good, really wasnt that bad. just relax and take one day at a time. i too am '66 and say to myself i must be getting old, but my doctor tells me when i reach 70 i can start to say that. anxiety is never good.
