Newbie observation

whats up with chickens? thousands of chickens sold on my market everyday. price now has been mid 350's for a few weeks now. even spiking up to 500cc range.
what is everyone doing with them? i always thought they were buying them for the trophy but once cuckoo entered the scene i thought chickens would slow down. people breeding them all the time? almost never see rainbow or golden hen (just checked theres actually 2 of each now lol).
maybe my market chickens are a bubble waiting to burst. ill keep feeding the market in the meantime with 250-300 chickens everyday till it bursts. too bad bp changed rules on manure.

just went to check 60 chickens i listed @ 449cc before i wrote this, already gone!!!

 

You need quite some to make anacona feed additionally to the rabbits.

 

I just wanted to thank you guys and gals for the advice over the last couple of months; with planting 1x1 fields and CAC, etc. This MM was a lot of fun for me and I achieved so much more than previously, and it is all thanks to the lovely people in this thread

 

for some reason i have a tendency to go over and over things i have said in the past. so after reading this over half a dozen times past couple weeks i looked into it further. im looking at fsq i have on the go and i start to break them down into cc.

if i strictly sold everything i grow (getting biggest bang for the buck per plot) i could buy all my ep and bep on the market for a fraction of what i have been donating to all these quests. i could be at the same level now but have millions of extra cc in the bank. why dont i take my own advice?

 

Feelfree I'm having a huge personal debate with myself at the moment over something similar. I was lucky enough to get a couple of tamarind trees a while back, I also happen to have Buddha's hand trees so I've been growing both for the last stage of "Picky Pirates". I've watched how something like a G&T can greatly affect the price of a previously rare item the blackthorn plum would be a good example. They used to sell for a little over 2000cc each on my market and now sell for around 1000cc or less.

So my dilemma is do I sell the 350 tamarinds I've been hoarding now while the prices are still high and start from scratch again or do I continue to hoard them to complete the FSQ. Hoping of course that prices will still be good for selling once I'm done with it but there is of course no guarantee for that.

 

Clash - I have struggled with the same too because I like to finish things but it takes a long time to gather enough tree fruit for the quests unless you have multiple trees or use a lot of Suzy Super grow on a few. I would suggest that since the quests are permanent, you sell your expensive tree fruit and use those funds to reinvest in your farm in other areas you want to develop. The quests are not going anywhere but you have a limited amount of time to benefit from high market prices. You may see the price of tamarind fall a little bit due to players getting some during the free trees from the summer giveaway. You will certainly see them fall as soon as we have another secret seedling event.

 

Thanks for the advice PNP. I know you are absolutely correct I just have to overcome my natural tendencies to want to "complete" things. I know also that once the price falls I can also buy in order to complete the quest as well. So I've sold off a big chunk of my stock, already I've cleared over 700k and still have 150 trees left. It was the right choice to make I just have to keep reminding myself of that.

 

Did you hear me screaming "Sell, Sell, Sell"? LOL I know we've chatted about this and your market does not seem to fluctuate as crazily as mine does still you've got to make hay while the sun shines. (as the old saying goes)

on my market i can buy the 102k bep for 23k cc. we have 23+133=155kcc
650 tamarind=2200*650=1,430,000cc
650 budha =550*650 = 357,500cc current prices

how long will it take to get back your investment for that cloud row? years?
good thing most people play the game growing their own items, making for cheap ep craft items. i just wonder if the game was always like this or if craft items were so expensive in the past that it drove people to grow their own crops and animals. building pink stables also take years to get back your investment. now take a look at breeding quests and do the numbers, never get back your investment.

but thats what make the game fun, no rush, no incentive to be quick. not like a war game to be the first to attack.

 

Since I've pretty much decided I'm going to do the minimum on the breeding event this time around I'm trying to decide what I should do with the BBD. I want to try one of the cuckoo breeding FSQ's and I'm trying to decide which one. I'm torn between "cuckoo secrets" and "covert cuckoos". While covert certainly requires more lower level cuckoos you only have to bred up to punkoo's and in secrets you have to bred up to bee cuckoos with much less being required on the lower animals.

Any suggestions? I like the prizes for both so that is a total toss up. I'm just wondering if I'm missing some big glaring difference in why one would be easier than that other. I've got about 1250 cuckoos in my barn if that helps with the equation.

 

i will do enough for the trees during this event then decide between cuckoo breeding and pigs. with only 300 pf. cuckoo breeding will be very profitable. prices are ridiculous on the market for breeding cuckoos. i will take advantage and not even look at fsq. i have small stockpile of brown pigs so maybe do some breeding there.

nope Foolishly I expect everything to work.

 

You always have to refresh for an event to start You should also check the event timer to make sure the event is running.

 

How are people doing with the turkey event? Do you get an extra bonus for doing the whole thing? I have done nearly all bar the last one that requires the 28 rodeo lessons - not sure if I should use up my PF to get the goats for it, or sell the 24 rodeo lessons I have accumulated. If there is an extra bonus for completing the whole thing, it may be worth doing. If not, the CCs would be nicer

 

There is no bonus for completing the whole thing (except satisfying your FOCD ). I also left out the part with the 28 riding lessons and only did silver tasks in level 1&3
