i finally have 150 stars so i could unlock alchemist/spa manager rune. i don't enjoy being a confectioner - would i like being an alchemist? or am i better off spending my stars on upgrades and other things and pursue the path to living legend?

    Hi!

The spa has some use for levelling Baha, but the alchemist is useless. I would make the LL rune the priority. Once you donate your tropies to the LL rune, you no longer need to move them around in order to maximize drops (thus freeing up two 1x1 plots on each playing field for other purposes).

Hello bauernfrau4! Please don't touch The Alchemist. It's of no use to anybody and a shame for the game and its players!
The Spa, however has many good points and is well worth opening.

Only you can make the choice but I know for me that going for the LL was the best decision I could have ever made. Trying to remember to move those trophies around and then having to wait or refresh to make sure they registered on the field was a major hassle for me. Such a relief not to have to remember them especially during an event where drops are vital. Getting the LL had the biggest overall impact on my daily game so I do think that is a top priority.

I did open the spa prior to upgrading my manure or water reserves but that was my choice and worked for me. Not sure what you didn't like about the confectionary but the spa runs pretty much the same way. For level one you need a large stock of cow milk, bromeliad, grapes and herbal elixirs.

did you get to point in tree where you can get new cloud row ? my best investment whit stars was to get high breeding animals or new cloud row wher you get 5 pheromons when it is activated:) i have spa and alchemy ,and i recomend spa :)

    Forget alchemist!

I would suggest going for the living legend, then spa right afterward, but the choice is up to you.
I opened my spa and the living legend rune both, but cannot remember which I did first. I am often better off buying the punch, etc to level up in Baha (and I have bought/made a LOT -- particularly to help me finish the shipwreck island quests).

Living legend is a huge help in events.

After that, I would tend to go for the cloud rows that offer free animals and products, but I would have to look through all the runes again to remember for sure.

Oh.. there is another, much older, very similar thread already. You might try reading it. (might be termed how to use stars or some such?)

My only caution on the opening cloud rows is to look up their requirements in the FAQ first. Doesn't do much good to spend the stars on opening them and then not have the deco items to complete them. Specifically look at the 2x1's needed as those are hard to come by.

What you open will depend on your playing style. If you enjoy events then LL rune is the way to go, if you like animal farming and breeding then those runes may suit you better. If you don't enjoy being a confectioner you are unlikely to enjoy being a spa manager. However you can make and sell red punch and earn a fair few ccs or make your own red punch to level up on the island. Don't touch the alchemist - as yet it is the least useful of the trades.

I agree with everyone concerning the artisans trades. Until positive changes are made, you would be much better off with any one of them other than the :(alchemist. Im sorry you dont enjoy your jams and jellies...but until you begin to collect recipes, any trade can be less exciting really. Good luck, and enjoy your stars ~ be proud you have that amount at one time, too as I am ready to spend 'em as fast as I get 'em;) Happy farming bauernfrau!

yes i have. i have 3 of the 4 areas. grow mostly trees there.

thank you all for your sage advice. i am so glad i asked. i decided to give the alchemist and spa manager a pass for the time being. i think i will unlock some steps towards ll and splurge on the cuckoo super breeding pack. i already have the breeding runes and enjoy them. maybe i will upgrade my confectioners skills to jam master. but really, how much pear jam must cook to in order advance, there is so little strategy involved in that. boring.

:) The trick is to stew/buy 5 Lavender jam a day and consume. Each and every day, don't forget!

It'll give you 525 points (if I remember correctly) each day towards your total. If not Lavender any other Confectionary product, as long as you consume 5 a day, each and every day! The amount might not seem much but as the days go you'll find that your progress-bar is showing more and more green.

    Best of luck!

Good Advice all... and hatzeva I was just going to tell them the same thing about the lavender jam... and it's a good way to get some levels, because I agree level 1 confectioner can seem tiresome. Going for the Living Legend was the best use of stars to date for me. It made the game so much better for me and improved my drop situation tremendously. I was advised early on, to go straight up the tree first to get the essentials, then go back down and attempt the branches.... and everyone is right giving you the advice.. "Only you know which will suit you best." Good luck and Have Fun!!!

Nice, do you have unlock all the areas in the Magical Glade? If yes then you should open a new trade.

Everyone has given such excellent advice that I will only share my experience. I unlocked Alchemist and quickly found it of little use. After reading advice in the forum, I decided to go straight up the tree and unlock breeding runes as possible. It has been a good decision for me and I have almost completed LL.

Today I opened the Spa, to start on more branches.

Best of luck in whatever route you choose!

This depends. There are always the chickens and jingle deer for 10BB, which is free if you have an active cinema or still have quests that give BB, etc.

spending stars is a personal choice - so spend them on whatever you want

Need some advice on leveling up artisan points. I've got a fair amount of stars available and was wondering does it make sense to level these up and if so should I max one category out before going to the next. As mentioned above I know spending stars is a personal choice but before jumping off in the artisan levels I thought I would ask what others have done and does it make a difference in leveling up,

you level to get a certain recipe you want. have the bb's to then purchase said recipe. if you dont see a recipe you want to have then dont waste your stars. you can also check market price for said buff. with prices rising all over the place it can hurt you to produce certain buffs.

This is taken from the FAQ on the tree of wisdom:
    * Additional information concerning the Confectionery / Bakery / Florist / Spa Manager and Alchemist Boosts runes:

These runes are given names in the Rune description, but these are effectively only "names".

If you, for example, unlock a 10% bakery rune, you'll get an EXTRA 10% trade points for EVERY product made or used for upgrading in that Bakery Trade.

If you unlock a 20%, you'll get an EXTRA 20% trade points for EVERY product made in that Trade, as well as for every product used for upgrading.

The extra percentage shown on these trade runes is a % on the actual base recipe points. You can get to a MAXIMUM of 25% extra points with these 5 runes opened.

Based on this information I would focus on the trade I most wanted to level up the fastest and spend the stars to level up one trade at a time.
