SillyGuy, on this market now, a farmer will pay 1 CC for each 3 in Exchange Value.

    Hello broke,

1 CC for 4 Exchange Value is for The 2015 Harvest Hoedown.

So, 1 CC for 3 Exchange Value will be for next year The 2016 Harvest Hoedown. I think this is a very important thing in mind for farmers who want to enter the contest next year.
    ;););)

Gathering now for the next contest in the future.

Always good to know SillyGuy is around.

I said exactly what I meant: right now, a farmer will pay 1 CC for every 3 in exchange value, Now! And that is if one can find it that low.

Such a rate is moving toward considering acquisition of Roses and even Plums. This market is very quiet.

Thanks for the advice, broke. It will help farmers to plan for next year.
And best of luck to you for this year.

I did this last year, severely depleted my stocks for little reward. It is rare for me to miss an event but I'll be happy to miss this one.

Hello Cassie! What you wrote is so very true. I like: " ... severely depleted my stocks for little reward." Severely .... hahaha ... Severely!

I can only imagine the hopelessness felt by a new player when beginning a farm near the event.:oops:

The rewards always receive such criticism. I agree with you though. :)

I have to agree this appears a pointless thread, and is yet another thread where you can just benefit from hearing your own -edit-
Forgive me if I've missed it, but I don't see a single shred of strategy either - perhaps you could indicate where it is, if perchance I've missed it:sleepy:

If I wanted to play on the commodities market, I'd find a trading game - personally I'm here to farm;)

Incidentally, BigPoint lists Farmerama as a strategy game. If you only want to farm but want nothing to do with a commodities market, perhaps you should play a farming-only game. ;)

I wonder what will be the general requirements of the event this year. The mud_pie_man farm does not have resources to waste. I know it must take its chances. Any advice?

I started playing about two months before the HH four years ago. I thought it sounded like fun. It didn't take long for me to realize that spending all day scouring the market for deals was a COLOSSAL waste of my life. So I only do the main event of HH and leave the TOP "n" players trophy for... others. I'm currently quite content plodding along with my mid-90s farms. ;)
I figure that my contribution to those pursuing to waste their life in this pursuit is ENABLING them in their addiction and avoidance of real life, so I don't.

So far... no real strategy has been offered beyond... the numbers from last year, and I will add that should be used as a minimum start point for this year Top players... and
buy LOW. I will also add you need to SELL HIGH and/or produce something that can been sold at a ridiculous profit. And a whole lot more could be added... but... for some reason the person claiming to have the info hasn't shared it yet. Where is the logic in that? Come to think of it I can't remember the OP, or the other complainants on this page of this thread, ever posting any strategy in the threads I've read. Curious that...

    -edit-

If your goal is to run this thread off the rails... you're almost there.

However, there are some players who don't understand strategy at all that might learn and read a point or two to help them. If they are ever posted...
You're pretty much right about that.

    True.

Farmerama can be a farming only game, what part of the game requires me to trade commodities?

HH is daunting to say the least! farmer_broke has encouraged me to try...but I just cannot let go of so much inventory!!! Yet I will cheer him as well as esca and all others to reach the Top 1000!!! I will do the reg. event...and that is all. For newer players who want to attempt the extra step for Top 1000...I heartily agree that having a good strategy is needed.

As for being silly or offering funny or kooky posts...yes my friends and I sometimes get carried away. I apologize if this irritates you. This is a game...meant to be fun!

Well, top 100 is not for me. Like Brooke, I can't empty my barn, I just can't do it. However, my interest is breeding animals. They always ask for them which turns my stomach especially in such huge quantities - does anybody have a suitable strategy for them?

Jools....I am another one who been playing this game for 4 Plus Years I am known as Ajjg1966. Basically Since this Game Started we have to try out best to complete Mini Events, Big Events and Farmer Society Quests Plus Timed Quests. Many of us Farmers who not have completed These and get all these lovely rewards

This would not have been possible without a Strategy of Some Kind or Get loads of using Info, Tips, Methods or Use Buffs Effectively. Most of us do not have to Space on our Farms to Grow every thing we need to fulfil these Tasks of Requirements.

For I would find this Game very very Boring and would quit playing this game if it do not indulge into the Markets, while playing this game. There is an expression Every Little Help is appreciated !!! We are here to help others. It would be nice to say positive things when posting on the Forum ifyou dislike or disagree to any postings it common sense to ignore those postings with that kind of comments without doubt will upset more farmers than you anticipated  You ought to be considerate to other farmers who use this forum too -.-

a farming game only? yes this is true. BUT, i personally dont want to be playing for 5 years to reach level 100. i personally dont want to spend cash on the game. i just dont see a strategy to get past this without bringing the market into play. one quickly goes through pf to get coloured pens and workshops. bb are even worse to come by for free, with a cinema that doesnt work half the time or giving out your credit card number.
boasting? and your point is? one can say this at just about anything one does. should we have all cars valued over $100k scrapped, every 5k square foot house torn down? every gold medal returned because they are just laughing at the silver and bronze medalist.
making cc at the cost of someones misfortune? depends on whos point of view your looking at. 99.9% of all fortunes were made on other peoples backs. thats what makes the world go round.

buy low sell high, doesnt get anymore simple than that right. over the centuries many books have been written trying to figure out this simple statement.

“And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.” This concept was declared in Plato's Apology when Socrates makes his opening statement. The main reason why is wise is because he knows nothing.

i try to learn something new everyday and there have been many a day that broke has taught me something.
as for the forum i blame bp. post are constantly being closed asap. posts are removed after 3 months of inactivity. i have never seen such a clean forum in 15 yrs of gaming.

I am fairly new on this forum and don't know the history of the old one but that shouldn't really matter anyway...
I must admit that I am amazed that this tread causes such agitationo_O

This game can be played in so many ways and in the end none is more correct than the other. There is of cause better ways to do certain things dependent on what you want to achieve. But regardless you can play just the way you want to and I see no need - actually I find it absolutely unnecessary and rude to demean other players way of playing the game.

I am level 94 and I have played by different strategies during the time, set up different goals and when achieved set up a new one - just to make it fun for myself. If you find it cool to have orange pens then go for it and use the strategy needed. If you find it cool to only do crops then do that. If you find it cool to do all the quests then go for it and find the right strategy. You decide but don't patronize others way of playing.

So please get this thread on topic and discuss how to conquer HH 8)

    I wish you luck:)

    Greetings lovely Farmers, :(

I'm not even sure where to start with editing the posts, because this thread is heading in the wrong direction and many farms have been bothered by the personal remarks (or as they were called, "attacks") made towards other players.

Please be so kind and stay on topic, and discuss Harvest Hoedown strategy - just remember, the event has not been confirmed, so be careful with the strategies and advice you follow / apply.

As for the forum - very off topic - but yes, our job includes keeping the forum clean, so we will take this a compliment, feelfree2win. Posts are not removed, they are archived after a month, nothing is deleted - and help threads are closed because we focus on every player's question or issue in particular, closing it once it's sorted out. Ignoring them or leaving the community to assist only is not what we volunteered for.

    :inlove:
    Best regards,

Hellllloooooooooooo Teddy! You bet I knew you were around. Thanks for not closing the thread but giving us a chance to clear a few matters and get on track. I knew several of the risks in beginning a thread of this nature and perhaps several months before the event is announced and thoroughly understand that there are reasons why the event may never even be announced to occur.

    -edit-
I feel free not to -edit- leave town to make a few real life coins 8)

    -edit-
    -----

In trying to develop some strategy of my own, the first thing I ask myself is what can the event call for, ignoring some final TOP 1000 competition? What?

    The answer: Anything and Everything.
So I say to myself: Aweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee _____________________ <------can't write, teddy.bear is around.

And that is the whole issue: Anything and everything can be asked for. How can I best prepare for this event strategically?

Can I grow an event junk crop?
The answer: As much as I hate to grow junks, I think I can. :)

What else can they ask for? O K. Maybe breeding animals.

Would a specific animal be asked for or so much in exchange value of breeding animals?

hmmmmmmm First I would prepare for a broad call of breeding animals. Say 500,000 worth.

How can I get them? I can breed them or I can buy them and why would I buy them?

-edit- I don't want to empty my barn, so how can I get the most for the least?

If the event were tomorrow, I would give albino bats. Why? Because the cc cost of the albino bat is less than the exchange value credit I will receive. So sometime in the course of a year, I may breed and get an animal I can sell for more than the exchange value. Then I will take the proceeds and buy more albino bats because I will get more and not have to empty my barn.

If you don't want to go to market then don't. But for sure you will pay more than I will because you will have less. And if this is what you want to do then by all means do it. Admit it, I still have to farm at some point in time. Producing animals is farming, breeding is farming, even selling in the market is part of farming. I can appreciate your opinion and style. However we get the 500,000 worth, we both must come up with them to progress in the event.

And breeding animals may not even be called for.

And there may even be a specific breeding animal.
And nothing stops developers from having a combination of them both.

The above is what makes staying on track, comprehensive, and addressing the so many styles of playing the game ..... so very difficult. So to be prepared I will just say a strategy is to hold 500,000 in exchange value of breeding animals just in case.

Now what do I do next or at the same time?

    farmer_broke,
I see where you say you will be using a younger farm of yours, as to why? I assume more of a challenge to yourself.
But what I would like to read is what did you jump out the gate building up 1st? what did you get just in case? the breeding animals are always nice to have but is this an area you fed the most?
