Strategy for "Outfoxed" -Hungarian Event

Take a deep breath-- it is also labeled as medium but it will be tough...long milling times, high daily drop rate, lots of rare fruit, a lot of low level crop and rabbits. I am getting ready to leave for the afternoon but will have to delve more into it but at first glance, *sigh* it isn't very 'friendly'.

 

Finally able to login. It was good I finished my quest some few hours before the event ended. If I have waited I would not have completed the quest.

Unable to do two levels as aimed, in my other farm as the game didn't load. Such a waste of everything. At that moment I felt "why should I be sitting in front of a game that doesn't load- on which I put such a lot of effort, thinking etc - leaving my real life work".

 

once new event FAQ come out. market got crazy, Blackberry & walnut....etc, price rise rapidly &
farmer still chasing them fiercely.

 

Good for you!!! Honestly you got the best part of the prizes to be won if you got those.

 

I did manage to get the cloud row (and the 3 items needed for it), but had to do without the wonder stables and some other prizes. I only got the cloud row because I had to get up at 2AM to put work clothes in the dryer. (my son forgot and I figured I might as well go online). I had enough supergrow for 2 rounds (on all fields) and some additional, which with water and manure, the other boosts I have, allowed me to harvest a couple times between work and bed, plus once in the morning. It just was not enough, even with all the boosts.

Drops were not an issue for me (apparently --forgot to check the totals to finish) , but I have almost maxed trophies and a howie donut, too boot.

 

It was really interesting reading the different strategies, esp the ones involving CFs. Good to hear so many reached their goals. Sad to hear that the short time frame kept so many from enjoying the event.

The event started at 5a local time. I had things to do before it got hot outside, so I logged in a couple of hours later.

I had all the drops at the 12h elapsed point.
I had all the crops before I went to bed.
I grew one round of 6h crop overnight. I had added water but... didn't want to get up at 3:15 to reset. I was about 3-4 late planting next round of 6h crop. Then only needed a partial round to finish.
I finished at about the 36h elapsed point. Good thing too. It was almost 5p when I finished all three farms. I laid down to rest before eating dinner. lol Such an old woman... I was really tired and planted organic cotton for the night. I had intended to use the droids and Bob, the builder, to put pens out for the next event. I need some manure. Changed things out this morn.

My finished drops:
Farm 1 (4 Howies): 182 - 4 from magic trees = 178
Farm 2 (no Howies): 164 - 16 from magic trees = 148
Farm 3 (no Howies): 197 - 12 from magic trees = 185
When I seen numbers like that... I seriously doubt that Howies effect event drops.
If I had had another harvest, of anything, before the end of the event... I would have easily gotten twice the drops needed for the event.


Glad to hear the FAQ is out for the next event. I have a Drs. appt tomorrow and wanted to get started on... whatever, today.

 

Looking forward to it but I love short events, specially because of the built in harvester function. It makes the event so much easy to finish Completed all the steps in both of my farms and still have the harvester function running, using it to reload and prepare for the upcoming event

Edit: Just noticed the FAQ of the friendship event, other requirements are ok for me but 480 Mirabelle Plums!!!!!
I don't have a single tree

Edit: ps I have 2 but not enough to overcome this event

 

farhana, I recommend that you comment about the Mirabelle Plums in the Feedback thread for the event. I too, felt this was an over the top requirement.

 

Will the yellow roses earn EP or BEP when planted on the island? The FAQ just mentions EP. (If that is the case, I will try to avoid planting yellow roses on the island.)

In past events, crops that are able to be grown on the island have given BEP, so I hope that's the case this time as well.

Since this thread is actually for the (now finished) Hungarian event, it might be better to post Friendship event-related things in the Friendship strategy thread, since more people will be looking at that thread now. You can find the link here.

 

Thank you so much and Hooray!! I would love to grow roses on all four fields as quickly as possible, in case drops are an issue.
My apologies for using the wrong thread. I was reading about the Friendship event issue - so many Mirabelle plums needed, and lost track of which thread I was reading!

 

Late posting this...I finished with about 14 hours to spare so I was pleased and looking forward to next event!!
