  1. So, I'm just wonderingo_O,
Whoever would want the event items maintained in the barn doesn't even have the faintest suspicion that they were the main reason the plug was pulled on the event? Especially the drops called Candy Baskets?
Don't take what I am saying the wrong way, I believe the request is fair and I and my 160 (ex-)baskets would like it too.

Items in inventory can hardly be the cause of the problem (as with any other item in it). This is software.... The problem for sure lies in their programming.

But let's assume for a moment not they, those items in inventory, but some glitch/mistake in the whole programming regarding the event somehow caused some kind of critical failure when it tried to read each player's inventory. Then, BP could have chosen to just run a script logging the actual event related inventories, then delete them, then fix the mistakes they've made in their programming and log them back before start of the event whenever they decide to schedule it for.

But, no. They chose the lazy approach, an utter disrespect for the effort and resources put by players for this failed attempt.

  3. Not quite what I meant:).
There is no reference to software or technical issues in the official announcements;).

If it's not what you meant, please do us the favour to explain yourself.

If it was not their faulty programming, something you give the impression to know for sure (but I wouldn't deduct from their specifically mentioning it or not), then the approach they've chosen is even worse, even more disrespectful.

  5. Just pondering...
Is there the possibility that it was not expected that many players could and would flash 1.000-2.000 candy baskets within the first hour of the event?
In the previous versions of the Queen the limiting factor was how many baskets you could gain to play.
In this one it turned out that the limiting factor would be for how long someone could stay awake playing mini games.... with really good rewards.

    As you wish.

Let's suppose that was the case. The only way anyone could have achieved 1/2K candy baskets in the 3 hours or so the event actually kept running was through either having bought baskets like a lunatic or invested a huge amount of resources to get them from their fields.

In either case those players are entitled to any candy basket they may have gotten.

The only other possibility is faulty programming that led to too many candy baskets for some but not all.

But, even if the problem was with candy baskets because -again- there was some glitch of any kind that allowed some players to get many of them, BP could have limited the wipe out of our event related items from our inventories to candy baskets alone after having logged the actual figures for each player, and then log back to us a maximum cap of candy baskets per player before the event starts again whenever they decide to schedule it for.

They had lots of choices before deciding to wipe out everything.

Since I only got 89 candy baskets before they cancelled the event, and I guess that was the case of the vast majority of players, I can't see the need to wipe out everything. The only explanation is their laziness and disrespect of players' effort.

  7. The only way anyone could have achieved 1/2K candy baskets was to do instant crops in comfort fields.
This applied for any player who could do instant crops and was willing to.
    1 SG = 1 candy basket.
In any case I do agree with you that there were other options of handling this situation.

Right (I was referring to that when I spoke of invested resources). And, if so, it's within the rules of the game. Those players decided to invest their resources. So, they are entitled to those candy baskets or whatever other drop.

If some got too many, BP has no saying on the matter.

And, if BP didn't like that -I fail to see why-, they should have refrained from harming all players in the way they've decided to harm us.

Poor management of a supposed problem no one knows about.

No, I bet there was faulty programming.
