We can dig a hole and burry it there said the doggie. "What a silly idea !" exclaimed the bee and it said, " Give it to me. I will hide it in my honeycomb"

 

But it'll get all sticky. Doggie is really thinking I don't want ANYONE to hold this but me - it's mine, mine. all mine.

 

Now ladybug was in total confusion as what to do. She still hasn't made up her mind about visiting the ooooooooooooool faaaaaaaaaaaaaarmer and her cousin illy, the ladybug as oooooooooooooold faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarmer is in a bad mood and he is broke and saying that he will not let anyone see illy, the ladybug.

 

"I've got a bad case of toothache, let's cooperate." says the lion who's seen it all. "The precious gem will be safe when you put it in my bad tooth, it'll relief my pain and with my roar I'll keep everyone away from it!"

 

Everyone agreed that was a wonderful idea. Just don't swallow it said ladybug. o.k.let's try it.

 

Except ... ladybug was hesitating. Oh, okay ... I trust you, lion.

 

Lion opened his large mouth and ladybug gingerly put precious in his cavity. Ah, this feels so much better and precious will be safe, I'll take good care of her, says lion.

 

Dr.Donkey says, "Don't worry. Even if he swallows I will get it out for you". 'Swiper' Sneaky overhears all this and rubs his hands in glee and says," I will swipe them from you."

 

Brave words but he didn't take note of Lion's big teeth - and precious was under his enormous tongue! Sneaky tiptoed behind Lion but not sneakily enough!

 

Lion turned and let out a loud roar, precious went flying into space and everyone was chasing her including Sneaky.

 

A Hedgehog who had been quietly making his bed for the night felt something heavy hit one of his spikes! Oh my goodness, what was that ... oh, it's so nice and shiny.

 

Ladybug was first on the scene and asked hedgehog to curl up around precious so that Sneaky couldn't see it.

 

But I just want to keep watching it, Hedgehog replied. It is so beautiful and it makes me feel all gooey inside.

 

I know said Ladybug, but if you keep watching it and don't hide it, Sneaky will steal it . Maybe there is a place where precious can shine and be there for all to see.

 

Let me think said hedgehog. Ah, I have just the place, now if I could just reach the top of that rainbow ... come on, help me up.

 

Let's get giraffe to help, she is the tallest.

 

The wise ladybug said,"Let's climb the mountain. It will be easy to toss the hedgehog from there. So everyone climbed to the mountain top including the giraffe & the elephant.

 

Off they went to the top where Ladybug flew on giraffe's head and with all her might tossed hedgehog with precious safely in his little arms. There it landed high and beautiful and bright for all to see.

 

With Hedgehog still attached. "I just couldn't let it go" she said, "it's just too pretty - but how do I get down?".
