Kowhai and Amherstia plants have been on the market for some time, but you don't see anything sold. When I went to try, I discovered why. The price is quite low. In my market, the max is just over 1K. This, to contrast with Blackthorn plum, which is currently around 6K.

I realize that in time the price will adjust, but it seems like it might be time to consider adjusting the base value for newer trees. If not for these 2, then for future offerings.

I have not seen such a huge issue with animals yet, though it would not hurt to review them also.

woody - below are 2 links for the kiwi that discusses the very thing you are talking about....initial price setting is much lower and farmers are not putting rare items up for sale right away. You will see the listing price and ultimate sales price is much larger than the rare tree fruits that were just offered in secret seedlings. The listing will rise and you will see high sales prices like the blackthorn and kiwi soon. The blackthorn is already beginning to fall now that more players received them in this last mini event (same thing happened with wolves).

Yes, I realize that is how the prices work. I am saying that it might be time to adjust the initial or base price/donation price.

its not just the one instance, many of the more recent products seem out of kilter. I am just suggesting that as the game moves on, it might be time to adjust some of the base prices. A few could probably go down, though I recognize that people will complain more about that. Nor am I suggesting that this be truly fluid, just that an occasional tweak, more for newer products, be considered.

It is a bit complicated though. The starting market value is the same as the exchange value.

But the exchange value is used for a number of things: rewards for farmhouse orders, value when donating to trophy quests and other EV based donations, maybe to determine prizes for FSQs and events. Setting the EV high for new products could make many things very unbalanced.

The market price problem for new fruits/animals is temporary. The new fruits reached 10.000 cc in my market today, it took less than a week. So I really don't see it as a big problem.

the value of an item is set, the price in the market is determined by supply & demand. If people are prepared to pay massively over the value of items in the market and people aren't prepared to sell things until the price rises, then that's hardly BPs problem-.-
