    Howdy Farmers,

The Advent Calendar feedback thread comes a little bit late hoping that you now have a slightly different perspective over it - opening it on the 1st would have gotten it flooded with complaints only due to the missing socks problem, as well as the BB paid missed days. We are fully aware that you are unhappy with this, and we hope that you will still enjoy it and all the daily gifts.

Please post your constructive comments, positive and negative, regarding the Advent Calendar 2014 in this Feedback thread.

Please be sure to bring arguments for supporting your statements, simple comments saying you like it or hate it will not be helpful.

The FAQ of the Advent can be found here. If you have any questions, please use the General Issues section or the Technical Issues section for technical problems - this thread is for feedback only. Thank you for understanding.

Don't forget: You are also more than welcomed to join us and give your Feedback, or ask your questions in Chat!

We are looking forward to your feedback!

I love the Advent Calendar. It is back on it's old place on the farm. And you can find it on the event clock.
The Gifts are always nice and I am looking forward to it.
The negative is already stated by you, the paying for missed days.

It doesn't belong in this thread, but I love the snow on the farm. :)

The Advent calendar is always a welcome feature during this time of year. The bonus gifts at the end of each completed row are a nice touch.

However, it is not in the holiday spirit to make farmers pay for days they may have missed, for whatever reason. I sincerely hope that BP revisits this decision and changes it to give everyone the same opportunity to receive all of the Advent calendar gifts.

That being said, warm holiday wishes to everyone. :)

Agree with all the above. Christmas more than any time is when players are less available than they might otherwise be. They should not be punished for things beyond their control. It is outside of the Christmas spirit to have this rule. Otherwise, love the Advent Calendar as always

I always :inlove: the advent calendar, it's one of my favorite things you do in the game.

Regarding paying for missed days, yes - please rethink this. Birdiesaunt has said it succinctly and perfectly above; I echo her sentiment, no embellishments required.

I love the new socks. They are beautiful. I already got a closed one...

I am sad because there are so many reasons why people could miss a day. And I for one love the event particularly for the reason that nobody was excluded even people with a busy life. And especially around Christmas in the US there is so much travel time alone necessary to go to see the family. And in a lot of countries it is a time of giving after all.

The advent calendar is a tradition from my childhood as a german kid.
An advent calendar is meant to be given away and even back as a child I missed days and even then I loved it.
Everybody should be part of this event irregardless of their schedule because everybody loves this event.
It is one of the events that make Farmerama a success! Please leave it this way and change it back.

    -edit-

I am one of the people that are considering stopping to play Farmerama altogether because it has lost it's community feel.
Making someone stare at a present for three weeks just because that person missed a day in a period of three weeks is just not very kind. BB's for presents, is just sad and is setting the wrong sign to the community which is already paying for other things.

Guter alter Adventskalender......I know it's probably not a popular opinion, but I think I like the current set up.....To pay BB for the missed days in order to collect the Bonus gift at the end of a six day cycle is ok, although the price should only have to be paid when collecting the Bonus gift.....it should still let the Farmer/Player collect the gift for the missed day for free. Anyway, I checked my calendar on the wall and I only discovered 24 windows, there are no Bonus windows on that one.....
There are many approaches to any of this, whether to pay for Bonus Gifts is the best I cannot and don't want to judge, one thing is for sure...people with multiple farms will not have it as comfortable as last year when you could hold out on opening your gift 'til the last day.

Back to the Advent Calendar: To me it is always welcome, because it's part of a tradition and as always...I love gifts and free stuff
And, other than the real one, this one keeps me hoping and waiting, firing up the suspense what might be the next goodie.....Sadly on my real calendar there are only 5 windows left to collect.....

I agree with all the above, love the Advent Caldendar (I love surprises! :inlove:) but really wish the BB payment for missed days could be dropped. It is unlikely I will miss a day, I rarely do, but others shouldn't be penalised for having other things to do at this festive time. :wuerg:

Love the little Advent chalet. :D

I agree with Michael, a solution where you could open all the socks for free at any day, but you would only get the bonus gift if you opened the socks on the right day, would have been perfectly fine :)

I am enjoying the advent calender, the socks are super cute :inlove: I am looking forward to see what's in the packages :music:

Michael's suggestion does seem a possible compromise although it would be better not to have to pay at all if you miss a day. It is Christmas after all. Of course the weekly prize may be so good that we don't mind spending a few BBs to get it! (said she hopefully).

I'm loving the advent calendar! My only issue is being in a different time zone to remember i can do it after midnight there.
Personally i'm not worried about having to check the stocking every day ..... In this day and age it's not very often I am away from the ways and means of being able to get online and click a little stocking takes all of 2 seconds if that .... So i love it!

It's the first I get to enjoy the Advent Calendar and I like it. Granted, if I'd miss a day, I have to pay with BB. That's something I won't do, I know that. I should just have checked the sock that day. But... The other days I'll get free gifts. There's nothing I have to do for it as simply login for a few minutes (after all, it takes a little while for the game to load), click on the sock and log out again (If I wouldn't want to play).

In these days where people check their phones, tablets, etc during dinner they with others and (!!!) even in conversations with others and it's not because there's something on their phone that has anything to do with the conversation (I really, reall, really hate that!!!!), eat their meals in front of the television, etc, I can imagine it's relatively easy to take a few minutes to check the advent calendar. Heck, you can even do it while brushing your teeth before going to bed.

/* end of rant about the annoying phenomenon of the "addiction" to phones, tablets, etc.....

Anyway, so far I like the gifts! I'm looking forward to the other gifts and I hope I'll remember to check the advent calendar every day :D

I love the advent calendar...as always, it is a cute layout, and the gifts are nice. I would like to echo the sentiment that I don't think its fair this time of year to penalize players if they miss a day. There is a lot going on and places you have to be (even if you would rather be playing Farmerama xD).

With that said, I like what previous players have mentioned: take away the bonus prize if you don't click on the right sock on the right day, don't charge bb's for missed days, and allow players to still collect the sock gifts after the day has passed.

I love the advent calendar and the little stocking are so cute and Christmassy. The prizes so far have been good and always useful. :) However, at a time when people are thinking about family and going away and with the weather in some places causing havoc with their internet connections I do not agree that they should be penalised for missing a day. At what point should a game be more important than your family? If this is what farmerama is stating then perhaps they need to rethink their values.:(

I love the idea of free gifts, such a lovely gesture at this time of year and the gifts are always useful and appreciated.
BUT I agree with everyone else we should not have to pay for missing a day and unless I'm mistaken the devs haven't even given us any info on how many BB's you have to pay.

The advent calendar is very pretty and christmassy, but I agree with everyone else! Why should we pay BB's for missed days? :(

Of course I love the advent calendar as well, who doesn't want free surprises? And the start is quite okay, gives hope for some special prices later on as well!

As stated before bt will state it again: it's ridiculous to have people pay for missed days, forcing people to open the gift in order to get all the prices. It is still a game! Above suggestion could be a solution indeed, it would be something extra for the regulars or the people willing to invest money in the game.

Sad thing is, it is stated in the opening post that they are fully aware that the community is very unhappy about this... But it doesn't change anything. So that brings to question (again) on why people give feedback as it doesn't seem to matter, BP doesn't listen to a word the community says if there is money involved...

But you have to give some to get some and this is happening less and less. I read through the old event posts from 2010/2011 and things were a lot more lose and generous back then. Shame this has now changed into a corporate game and no longer a leisure game

I love the advent calendar. I was gone for six days at Thanksgiving so missed the first day due to the time difference in the game, it cost me 2 BBs to collect the prize. I was saddened because the advent calendar is about collecting little gifts not about paying for them. I will not be able to collect all the prizes because I will be away for several days at Christmas. :cry:My Mom is 91 and has no internet connection so will miss out on several more days. I am new, so I have very few BB's. Until I leave I will enjoy all the little prizes.

There are many reasonable situations in which people could miss some day, and won't log, in order to click on that day's "sock".
They should not be "punished" with condition to pay something extra, or loose final prize, like it was some kind of their fault.
No one force them to do it, true, but it is obviously disappointing to majority of population.
Isn't that opposite of spirit and idea that Advent Calendar should represent? More then any other Christmas related event?

BP, please reconsider, and if possible, revoke that silly condition.

I will add my echo to all those opposed to paying bb for a missed day, how very inconsiderate! there are things beyond our control, as bp very well knows, in fact the snafu with missing stockings should have brought that message home! It definitely smacks of insatiable greed, especially at this time of year. I do like the calendar, and hope that I don't miss any gifts due to any unforeseen problems. please rethink this, it is a very bad move and I think makes most feel that the almighty dollar is all bp cares about.
