It's three in the afternoon on the 3rd of December, and I just found out my little boy has been closed out of the sock gift for the 3rd unless I pay for it. He has been very excited to see the little gifts on the farm every day. Now they're only available for part of the day...

Really? Not only must I remember to log in every day, but I'm supposed to remember the time difference and calculate it on a daily basis to avoid penalties? BP must have spent some good programming hours on that one. I've got to agree with those who are calling it greedy.

I really don't understand all the whining about missing a gift for missing a day.
If you don't want to pay BB for the missed day... don't do it!
-edit- you can log in, click a sock and be gone in about 60 seconds.

Seems like we are just reinforcing the same idea -- Advent Calendar is awesome, but paying for missing a day....not in the Christmas spirit. I, too, would be willing to pay 2 BB's for the gift at the end of the week because it is a bonus (if a stocking is missed during the week). Again---please reconsider and give us the Christmas gift you always have in the past.

I love the Advent Calendar! It's one of my fave things every year. It's only day 4 but my fave gift so far is the 2x 1h coupons for Farm Machinery. So much better than one 3h coupon. I always hate when the Farm Machinery activates immediately. One hour coupons are great for rearranging the farm. 3h is usually wasted. Thanks for that.

I have missed out on Fuzzles gifts because of health related reasons. That doesn't seem to bother me, much. I don't doubt that I will miss a day of the Advent Calendar because of health and timezone related reasons. It's happened in previous years. I wish BP would take into account those of us that live on the other side of the planet might have trouble with login because of these reasons. Not all of us can afford to be plugged in all the time. I, for some reason, would be really disappointed to miss an Advent Calendar gift tho. I would like for BP to reconsider the decision to require payment of BB, no matter how small. I fully realize that Farmerama is a business to BP. For me it is entertainment. There is plenty of free entertainment. I do spend some money on this game, harvester/seeder, trees, pens. But that is more than I should spend with my budget.

I'm actually more annoyed I can't play Farmerama from my Android tablet than the the possibility of missing a stocking because of health/timezone.

-edit- I think that many of the players not only in this thread but in the game agree that it is not within the Christmas spirit to deny busy players the chance to open their advent window each day. I can appreciate that you do not necessarily consider the Advent calendar to be truly worthy of emotion, and that's your right, but please respect that for many in this community it IS an important part of their online celebrations. Farmerama is as much a community as anything else and over my last 4 years here I have noticed that celebrating this holiday season with my online friends is just as important (or close to) as celebrating with my RL friends and family, in different ways. To be excluded from a community event is in fact rather heartbreaking, not to mention completely lacking in Christmas spirit, and I think that's the issue that players have. It's not just that they don't get their daily present. It's everything else that goes with it. People are not "whining" - they are expressing their disappointment at BP's complete lack of compassion and care at this time of year when both should be in abundance.
I'm sure there are several players who will log on for 60 seconds to claim their advent gift. This is not necessarily a possibility for all. It is not simply a matter of having 60 seconds down time (which, at this time of year, some people really do lack). Many are travelling, perhaps without a computer, or else without internet access. Flights overseas that take 17+ hours will most likely result in players missing a day. Lack of internet connection for several days means players cannot simply log in for 60 seconds. Is it fair that these players should miss out on their online celebrations because they have to take flights or travels (for example) to celebrate in RL? This is the issue that players have. It is not merely a matter of greed.

    Greetings lovely ones,

Please keep in mind that this is the feedback thread for the Advent calendar, and that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Any further inappropriate comments will be deleted - this is not how the holidays should begin in our Community, and I will definitely not allow any insults to be thrown out like this, it is uncalled for. :( Thank you for your understanding.

I would also like to something else ... We do understand your frustration, we honestly do, but - and here comes the "uh oh" part - please try to look at it from a different perspective as well, not only from the negative side of it. While I do understand that you do want it all, do not look at it as a punishment if you miss one day :( You have the chance of receiving 24 + 5 lovely gifts. If you miss one or two of them, because you are enjoying wonderful holidays with your close ones, everything is ok. If it's something you really really wanted, you will have the option to decide is you would like to still get that extra something, and pay, as you have seen, a very low amount of BBs. Just try looking at the glass half full - and remember all the free gifts you are receiving, and how nobody is forcing you to pay for anything. I apologise if you find this inappropriate, but I'm just trying to point out the positive part of the advent calendar as well, since I feel the best part of this is forgotten in the shadows... Once again, allow me to mention we do understand what you are unhappy about as well, but please enjoy the gifts you are given as well. :(
    Best regards,
    teddy.bear

I personally think that the bonus is okay. I liked the other way, but hey they have to make money to keep this game going. Maybe they could allow people to collect all of the prizes, even when they miss a day. However only allow people, that pay or make it every day, to get the bonuses. That would keep players from feeling that the event is unfair, but it would also generate the sales that they are trying to get from people that cannot be here everyday. I just feel that a gift should be a gift. I think someone else mentioned something like this.

I do have one issue that I did not see yet. We all know there are issues in the game, but this event seems to have quite a few glitches. The missing stockings and today's issue with the gingerbread men. So now I'm a bit paranoid that other gifts will be missing. I only noticed the gingerbread men by chance. What about the other gifts? Little concerning. Hoping the rest of the event goes smoothly.

    Update:

End of the event. The prizes were great. Wish there would have been a few more bananas, but I still liked what was there very much. Maybe next year you could have an exclamation point like fuzzles to inform players when the stocking is ready to be opened. That would be nice for players in other time zones.

    Thank you very much!!

I think at this point it is not only about the money anymore but about a team that works together. The communication has picked up a lot and that makes me happy. This forum is helping our producer now with a lot more information. Of course nobody can fix good prices if they don't know what the currency is worth.

I just hoped that the producer would have understood that this game works better if we all would work as a team and celebrate as a team together. I feel that the advent calendar was a special occasion to set a sign that BP is finally listening and give all of us a Merry Christmas even if we miss a day. I think it might have sparked the motivation of this forum even more and would have added a feature to the game to players instead of feeling much more like an actual job to me now.

I can see the BP logic of charging for missed days because last year all you had to do was log in on 24th Dec or so and you could get all the previous prizes. But penalizing those who miss a day is not very Xmassy... Could it be relaxed to 48 hours ?
    IMHO of course...:);):)

    -removed quote-
Jennifer, the advent calendar is actually a recurring event and has been part of the game for a number of years. It is not a new feature. However this is the first year (I think) that we've had to pay valuable BB for having RL commitments.

I have been playing Farmerama for a few years now and look forward to the wonderful prizes in the advent calendar, however this year it really sucks. I thought I would save up the week of stockings/gifts and open them all tonight for fun to find out I only have one gift, unless I want to pay 2BB for each missed day and miss the bonus gift for this first week. I think this idea is really horrible and very mean. Give us back our missing gifts! It's not as if we can earn more BBs as we are watching films in the cinema without any rewards. Shame on you to be so sour at Christmas.
