Uh.... isn't this the thread to comment on the survey, rather than to answer the question in the survey?
EDIT: OOOPS.. my mistake! This IS the survey thread. xD:oops::oops:

Ah well, Here is my assessment on the survey:

I definitely like that Farmerama is taking the time to actually ask us about this. That said, posting in the forum is a poor way to assess people's feelings. Only a small percentage of players ever come to or post in the forum. I don't know the exact ratio here, but 1-2% of users is typical 10% would be about the most you could possibly expect. Surveys are notoriously poor assessors of real attitudes anyway (people always think they are answering truthfully, but don't always act the way they say they will). Limiting the participants will skew the poll to the point of making it almost worthless, except as a "sounding block" (a place for people to vent/express feelings and feel they are heard).

    I voted yes.
I don't place my pro/con in the game, I am saying yes as to making it more fun.
It is more of a challenge for me in playing, finding the right rotation of crops to stalls to making extra for food making in between events.
All players will do as they seem fit, but I think of ways to make CC, it has to be fun for all players, even those that like bunny as fodder.
I agree, if this is for new animals good, get the 10% vote speak up or step aside. But if the new need is going to be taxing more land is needed, more you put in the more spread you need.

lol, woody, it's like hear from the working class throw a crumb they will say fair, but we all know the only voices that count are the ones that paid for the servers.
I like the game, and I like to talk go figure.:p

Animal pens are just too big in terms of space occupied and offer the worst EP/hr compare to same timed crops at basic level without enhancements. All that for just one animal and then to use it to produce another one animal does not sound reasonable to me.

    8) LOL! Great answer, Cassie!!xD So true - let's please not lose sight of the fact that this IS a game and doesn't have to imitate real life! Isn't that why we play it - to get away from RL for some relaxing fantasy?? Ahhhh, stress relief!!:)

Imho, this addition would only cause more stress...in time consumption, complication of milling feed, stress of buying/finding room for/and growing more animals that we don't have room for even now.:eek:o_O-.-

Where would we put all those extra animal pens we'd need to 'grow' food, anyway??? I, for one, do not have nearly enough room for the animal pens I use now...much less have to add more...so if this happens, please give us new fields to put them on!!! ...One field for Main, and one field for Baha!!

Necessity makes my vote emphatically no, thank you!o_O

If the feed has to be changed, let's feed them tree leaves/fruits!! Someone mentioned some impracticalities of trees....well, this would make them more practical, and we already have/grow them in minimal space.:pxDxD:music:

I do not mind using animals for food. However, and it's a big however, I can grow in just a few hours the amounts needed to mill 1000 food for a rooster. The milling time is ridiculous, I have the mill subscription just to make it not take days to mill 100 feed on Baha, I am not successful. The time it would take to grow enough feed for 1000 for an anaconda, it takes animals now, is days, several days in fact. That is not including the feed necessary for the animals it needs, chickens and rabbits. I personally think it would take too long to grow the animals and then to mill them. How many days? I don't like that it takes forever as it is. That said, make it palatable if you do decide to use animals.

I vote no too. My poor bunnies hate to go to growing anacondas.

I know others have pointed it out, but I'll add my two cents.

There is a constant demand for base animals and breeders in the FSQ and events. Power feed demands keep rising, and there is no way to mill enough for even light demand with the number of animals we must already feed. Milling takes far too long, and more crops and animals keep coming.

Put briefly, adding animals to feed production just puts more strain on the farmers - and really looks a bit like another bid to get more power feed purchases.

I voted "I don't care", and I don't. There has been so many changes to Farmerama over the years; the most drastic ones (the stop of the CAC/PJ combo and the change for the worse of the Mill) happened even with an outcry of anger from the community, but absolutely nobody at BP listened. I've learnt to run my farm a long with the current set of rules and I'm sure I'll adjust to what ever they decide to do.

I am a mixture of No and don't really care. As hatzeva expressed, I enjoy my farm and will adjust to what we are given. I may have moments of frustration of how things are done but I have played long enough to see a lot of changes and will continue to see new developments -- some exciting and some under the category of "what were they thinking?"

My vote was cast as No primarily because of milling times especially on Baha. The production chain of crops and input animals for feed to give my pens to make a final animal would be too long. I do not purchase the mill subscription and so both mills are already running nonstop as is. Breeding events create a large demand of PF making the main mill stressed to capacity and the rainforest's added space for pens makes it impossible to keep up.

Of course real life animals eat other real life animals and I don't mind that happening on our farms; however, it would really depend on which animal BP selects as the input animal, its associated feed and production time. My personal playing style is that I don't really care for crops or pens that can't be 12 hours or less with buffs (not PF).

I answered the poll question incorrectly...by clicking on no instead of yes...sorry BP poll counters:cry:
To be clear, I am okay with animal feed requiring animals: like the anaconda needing chickens and rabbits...this is just a game;) and in real life, my feed contains animal content!!
    Love your reply hatzeva:D

Regarding "fantasy" vs "real life"....BP would have to do away with charging us "real" currency to play the game in order for us to "escape" real life....

I voted no but I don't think the poll will make any difference if BP want to make the change they will as in past results have shown I will just work around it!

It would be okay as long as the quantity required was reasonable: 1 for 1. Example you gave of chickens for wolves. Wolves do eat meat -- they actually eat a variety maybe you could allow for a variety of meats to be used (either/or - not more than one for each feed).

Well I wouldn't like feeds to require animals. I try not to make anaconda's feed for that reason.

My vote was NO, I was happy when the wolf feed changed as I couldn't grow enough bone trees to feed them on a regular basis but that was mostly down to RL. I agree with what Woody mentioned about a review of animals feeds in general, a more fair/reasonable quantity of crops needed for the animals would be a much better idea.
o_Oops, I meant dog feed not wolf :p

I really think that this game needs to decide if the animals are intelligent or not, and then be consistant. If the animals are sentiant then they should not be used for animal feed- not even the glowworms. At the moment we have chickens and rabbits acting just like humans one minute and then we send some off for animal feed the next minute. Suspension of disbelief is one thing but internal inconsistancies are jarring.

From a practical point of view I can see it might work well, if the numbers were low enough and it wasn't all chickens and rabbits used. You might use 1 pig to make 3 wolf feeds, with a much shortened milling time. That would be a real improvement.

I would enthusiastially support rebalancing the feed milling system. At the moment mainland milling time is probably the most important resource in the game with all the rare animals we need as well as endless power feed. This seems wrong in a farming game.

My ideal solution to this would be to add a Baharama plant (unlocked in one of the early chambers) called Meat Seasoning Spice (maybe a fish seasoning spice too). Use the Baha mill to mill this into a meat replacement/fish replacement which can be further milled on the mainland mill for all the meat/fish eating animals. You'd have to greatly reduce the times for the Baha animal feed to compensate and you could reduce the times for the mainland animal feed to, say, around 2 minutes for all the meat eaters.

Hey presto, more work for the still underused Baha growing spaces and mill, less load on the mainland mill, and a little more realism than a wolf who eats broccoli and onions.

If it means we get to have a Sea Lion who eats fish sure!!!!! If it means having a Tiger, Lion or Alligator sure!! I would love to see a Shark too!!! Even a Peligan who eats fish. Or perhaps bugs need to be introduced so we can feed bugs to our wild life. I do not mind feeding the anacondas....
