Would it be ok for you if an animal feed requires animals? (e.g. wolf feed would be needing chicken)

I vote NO. There are a couple of reasons for this. One is that I'd prefer not to have to feed my poor little fluffy chickens & bunnies to a snake but I also I think the amounts are way out. 4 chickens & 2 rabbits per feed is way too much probably even for the biggest snake therefore I've never even owed an anaconda pen. While conflicted about it I can come at feeding my spider & at least the amount is more in line with reality (1 glowworm per feed) but 1 glowworm takes 15hrs while the spider only takes 10hrs 34mins so again the balance is out.

For me I think Cassie has said it best "on my pretend farm I can pretend the animals are vegetarians."

But I am glad that BP is thinking about the feed & asking us for our feedback so could you please look at my elephants, the poor things are starving to death....

    Well said Cassie!

IMHO, I feel that when the developers create a new animal feed, they sometimes try to be 'real' and sometimes they use something that is underused in the game; for example, eagle-feed made from rowan berries.
Trying to be 'real' has led to the anaconda fiasco and the over-use of corn and apples.
Also, consider crop levels - wolf feed has three high end crops : six units in total. And you have to be level 95 to feed a kiwi.

This is a fantasy game and supposed to be fun, so please make it fun and find the feed from under-utilized trees or crops that we all have access to. And fix the roosters; 110 units is ... silly.

Adding mice to the corn demand was also silly. :)

I voted no on this one. I am not opposed to animals eating animals, it's a reality however harsh it might be. My main concerns are some that have already been stated, specifically mill time and costs. We now have so many new animals that require feed, plus the need to keep the basics (chickens, rabbits, cows, horses, pigs, turkeys) well stocked as almost all events call for fairly large quantities of some basic or other, plus all the rare pens from the past that require feed. Like pnp I don't have the mill subscription, and even tho my mill runs non-stop I have difficulty keeping everyone fed. Also, like Mooboy, I haven't been able to make PF steadily in months. When you add that most events now require milled items to donate, this further cuts into mill availability to make feed. Like many others, I buy my anacondas or anaconda feed, whichever is cheaper, rather than mill it. I would much rather be able to sell the chickens and rabbits needed for the feed at a profit than use them for food. On the market side of the equation, I love making a profit on my animals, but I can see a major downside here for new farmers. When you're just starting out, it can be very frustrating not being able to complete quests and events because you just can't produce the amounts called for. Your resources are limited, so you can't buy the needed animals/crops, and you can't afford to buy more stalls. Most of your animals are stockpiled so you don't get caught short when they're called for, or sold to try and make CC to be able to participate and progress. If animals are required in more feed than they already are, I'm afraid we're going to lose new players at a faster rate than we already are, as they will get discouraged by feeling they aren't getting anywhere in the game, that they will never be able to progress unless they are willing to spend real money, and that it's just not worth it. That being said, I agree with pnp and hatzeva that I will adjust to whatever comes and continue to play the game my own way.

I agree with spots. I have no problem with animals eating other animals. I have a problem with how many animals are used in feed. It is just too hard to produce enough animals to keep up with quests, events and that black hole of an animal trophy to also throw them into feed.

From an entire game perspective, attempting to balance any specific aspect of a game there will be effects to the balance in other specific aspects. Ideally entire game balance is an object that can be met even in a game with a dynamic structure. Balancing a game as well as any organization is an art which requires skill.

The team has done reasonably well with keeping the game out of the mature life cycle of such a game. Clearly there is a choice of whether to use or not use animals in feed or anything else. I can even see using breeding animals in feed. However, any team attempting to accomplish this can extend the life and revenue cycle of this game or they can find themselves with a catastrophy which has the potential of destroying this game.

If this team is able to accomplish feed balancing, however it is you define it, while achieving a closer step toward entire game balance, then do it.

Glance at the strategy thread discussing the anaconda chain and you will find the unpopularness of the use of animals in animal feed. You will see the answer NO surface on its own with no survey needed.

I voted YES because I want to see if the team is qualified to do it. Players obviously are not for it but we will adjust ... provided the team is able to hold our interest in other ways. Some will even ignore it as long as they can.

From a personal perspective, I have decided to work toward a reasonable sense of order between anaconda with anaconda feed (which requires chickens and rabbits). And this has led me to the other BAHA animal feed so I must work with the entire BAHA feed market in my market. And that leads me to the other BAHA animals and they do not require animals in the feed. And chickens and rabbits must be dealt with and I see their own set of issues as to balance. (Virtually impossible from a player position to balsnce anything. However, many of the hurdles the team faces when attempting to balance are crystal clear. The BP teams has not done too bad and surely the team will never be completely satisfied as it cannot be.)

Again, if this team is able to accomplish feed balancing, however it is you define it, while achieving a closer step toward entire game balance, then do it. Depending on the extent the team wishes to do this, if this is done aggressively I can see resistence come from the community.

All benefits derived must outweigh all costs as you know. Good idea to ask for input from the community although I feel certain that you already knew the answer.

A good balance of the game for BP is the issue faced. All farmers have choices as to how they use the land as well as their mills as well as setting their own objectives. The game must be balanced in order to maintain control of it while at the same time generating profit for the organization. I have no doubt BP will do what it feels is best for itself as we all do in this game.

I vote NO. I am a vegan, and prefer not to use my cute little animals for feed. I won't use that part of the game. The only exception...I fed power feed to 1 annaconda so I could open shipwreck bay. I like my farm cute and happy. Thank you BP for asking. :)

I voted NO:(, for the simple reason that it will make our "life" at the Farm easier:) not to have to worry about more animals for the feed as well. With animals thrown in the feed, it's difficult to manage...as other players have already mentioned. I am Vegetarian since...for ever, but that has nothing to do with the game or reality and the laws of nature; so Happy farming everyone!:D...there will be NO animals in the feed (I hope so with 210 -No- votes).
