It's been an insane year here among the cacti and the mountains. My mom has decided to move out of my childhood home and so we are dealing with the mountain of 40 years of bric-a-brac. Among the other things is a truly odd but interesting find.

It's a Korting tube radio and I think it must be of German manufacture, as the stations listed on the selector are very central European in origin.

I don't know how old it is, although certainly no newer than 1970, possibly quite a bit older than that.

Does anyone know-- especially those of you over in the Eurozone-- how valuable this might be?

    8) Try contacting(igm-ing) Spunky75. He is a German 'farmer', on this forum occasionally, with an expertise in all things electronic, and built a radio himself when he was growing up!!
Be patient for an answer, though - he has other farms.

That sounds like a fascinating find, gaura! I hope you will post whatever you find out about it, and maybe you'll find other family treasures, too!
    Hope the move goes well!!:D

Well, on the entirely personal-value side, found my grandma Virginia's baby spoon.

    8) Your Grandmother's baby spoon - another Treasure, gaura!:D And according to Neon's reference article, that radio is quite valuable! Have you thought of having it appraised by a reputable Antiques dealer?
You might be in for a pleasant surprise...;)

Finally getting back on here. It may well be worth an appraisal. I found a couple of radios that look to be the same model online, and the value was around $200 (American).

    8) Ummmm....according to Neon's article if I read it right, depending on the model, they sold from hundreds up to thousands, even way back then!! If I were you, I'd head straight to the nearest Museum and ask if they could help you get it appraised...
Up to you, of course, but........:music:They could probably point you in the right direction for a fair price, at least.
