    Hi Farmers,

    1) Does anyone know if I mill food for animals I don't have yet, will that give me an advantage to acquire that particular animal? If I should need say, a crab?

    2) Does anyone know what the big red airplane air balloon with the waving pig in it that flies around my field mean? Or is it just a decoration? Am I supposed to do something when it starts it's rounds? It appears to be trying to get my attention...

    3) Does any know what the difference is between the purple and the gold pheromones? I think possibly the purple ones speed up the breeding time and the gold ones enable you to possibly skip a breed?

Haven't been able to find the answer to these questions.

Thanks for the help! Happy plowing...and be safe! :0)

I always mill 5 feed for a new animal in the hope I get it someday. The only advantage is that you have the feed ready even if your mill is fully loaded.

Sorry not sure about your other two questions.

    1. Milling animal feed for animals you don't have isn't going to give you an "advantage" to acquire that animal - ie. it isn't going to make it easier for you to get that animal or cause you to obtain the correct stall earlier. However, as farmerumf suggested, it will save you some time when you do get the required stall, as you won't have to subsequently wait for feed to be ready when you do acquire the right pen.

    2. This is from the "aircraft" deco item. It doesn't actually do anything, and you don't need to do anything in response, it's just a little visual to accompany the giver.

    3. You are correct - purple pheromones reduce the time it takes for breeding to be complete. Gold pheromones in theory give you a higher chance of getting a skip - although by all accounts they don't seem to make much difference (I've never personally had any success with them and I've heard mixed, tending towards negative, reviews from others)

Breeding pens no longer go on the field, all breeding is now done in the hotel which can be found to the right of the mill on the main field, or to the left of the mill on the green meadow.

You're welcome! Took me no time at all - I have been around for way longer than is probably sane, so this is my domain!

I've had a lot of success with deluxe pheromones (gold) and have saved myself a ton of PF by using them.

I think the reason we mostly see negative reviews on the EN forum is because people aren't using them properly. Many people use deluxe pheromones on a small batch of base or lower-level breeding animals and assume these pheromones don't make a difference because they don't get any more skips than usual. Base and lower-level breeding animals already have a relatively high chance of skipping anyway (key word being "relatively"), so of course players won't notice much of a difference here.

But the deluxe pheromones are quite effective when you use them on higher-level breeding animals, where skips are much rarer. Personally, I would never breed level 5+ breeding animals without using 4 deluxe pheromones per breeding process. It's been getting easier and easier to acquire deluxe pheromones so I've started using them on level 4 breeding animals as well.

As with most aspects of this game, breeding requires a good strategy if you want to get the most out of your PF.

Edit: Forgot to mention base animals.
