The apple tree is introduced in the tutorial to the game. The new player is forced to buy. Ten ep (10) is awarded for growing without buffs and growth without buffs requires 12 hours. What is your farm's strategy regarding the apple? The EV is 60. The chart below is derived from information contained in the game faqs.

Where "may be submitted..." is included in the chart below, there is an amount given in terms of EV in the faqs and a farm may choose to submit the apple. Several of the craft products are listed as "(base)" and the finished craft products they apply to are not included.

I was thinking about playing with apples today & you posted them. Apples price have raised due to the next event.

I don't grow apples on my farms, usually. I bought many thousands of them a looonnnggg time ago, when they were still cheap (29 CC and under:)), so I am not in any danger of running out any time soon.;) However, for grins and giggles (and being inspired by the lovely Mr. Grumpy:music:) I do have my main field mostly full of them at present here on spots while there's no event going - never hurts to restock some. What's not apples is oranges and eggs, since I can't find decent prices on oranges and eggs have gone thru the roof (recently sold some for over 2000 per o_O). I will continue to buy apples at prices I find acceptable, which isn't often lately due to almost constant calls for them, rather than depend on growing them myself, overall.

I buy at 60, sell at 100+. As a DIY farmer I have my apple orchard. Plan is to have mostly XXL trees and a bit more than I use. For easy turnover. The turnover time is for me just as important as the price.

I have one, other than that, I only grow them if needed for events. Just no room!

I have four apple trees growing on one field at all times. Due to next event I have put out the other nine trees in magical glade. Also put out rest of my egg trees - the whole four of them!

I do not grow apples. I do not have the candy others have so I have a list of feed the need items I will always buy from those that can talk in the high millions on hand.
I buy when cheap for my market, and horde. Nope no selling right now, I use for my need and stock the barn.
Will I ever sell? It's way down at the bottom on my to do list got to make the numbers to play the numbers.
My way is slow no market wowsers, but it is the only way that works for me. Apples are a farm need thing, here at this point in the game never to be on the alter. Grow space for me is better used growing a sell able/high need tree than a what 40 ep item I need in the thousands.

I have 11 thousand apples in my barn and 3 XXL apple trees out in my farm. I used to have a lot of apple trees out but when I had to make more space for event crops or for new trees I always took out a few of my apple trees.
I think I have never bought apples from the market!
Thanks for the chart Broke! Very usefull but also a little bit stressful:oops: I think my apples are getting less and less faster now:wuerg:xD

    You are quite welcome.
Seems we always seem to need apples. I just put out about 200 apple trees only because I read your post and do not have time to harvest.

Although not much ep, the apple trees will pay for themselves in a single use and we have them during the life of our farm.

Broke it is Fantastic Break Down of All Requirements of Apples.

It Give us Great Insight to where Apples are Needed. It my market 15 Apples are Averaging 90 cc in my Market. But no matter what market we are in there does not seem to be is such short supply Majority of the time.

The Down Side of Growing Apple Trees, it has Low EP. But in my Market Plums are Selling for 500 + CC Each, Therefore I would be better off Growing Plums Rather than Growing Apples

On Added Note Oranges and Mulberries are Fast Climbing in Fruit Prices in my Market too. If any newbie want to make CC in my market then it would make sense to grow Plums and Sell them to the Market.

We do not have an Cloud Row or Buff that gives +1 Fruit on Main Farm.

It is Getting Harder and More Expensive to Buy and Sell Fruits these days compared to couple years ago to what the Markets was like back then. Perhaps it was Broke and his Followers have been snapping up all Cheap Fruits in the Markets.

Not to mention the Demand of Fruits from Farm House Orders and Animal Feeds also have impact on Fruit Prices due to Reluctant to Grow Normal Fruits oppose to Growing Rare Fruits !!;):)

Apples are used in feed and the Artisans... So would never sell them...I have a 100 trees
And after this event i wont be doing anymore barn clearing events;) unless there is something really good that i would like

They are doing this for some reason ...don't know why or for what means ...but i am not taking part...my barn is staying as it is...and adding more to itxD

Had a one-day out of country assignment and returned to find apples at over 220 (the low). We grow everything under the sun. We invest in our farms I know. If one is forced into purchasing apple just once, it seems to make real good sense to just buy a bunchof apples trees. They will be paid for in one round. One would have to pay for them anyway. We do not have to put the out but we have the option of putting them out at anytime. So why not invest 12 hours growing time for the option and the trees?

Plum trees cost 800 each, ep is better, this farm has over 400 plum tree and over 1.2 million plums. Sure they take 20 hours to produce. Depending on the market it could take 1-3 times to pay for themselves but they are paid for and we have them for the life of the farm.

This farm does not regularly produce apples or plums but the logic is the same regarding the reason for purchasing them. I'll put 150 plum trees out now just because you discussed it.

The events give us the opportunity to produce tree fruit just for the drops.

Mooboy I know you don't keep out the plum trees. Neither of us could put out all the animal pens we have. The logic for purchasing them is nearly the same. Sure, no right way or wrong way and we cannot make someone else use the logic. We began with none and we had to begin somewhere just as everyone else must do. We also do not like being victimized by the market and avoid it.
