bamboo hut upgrade not working

i have the panda egg/ bamboo hut on my shipwreck cove, i got an upgrade from doing a farmers society quest which is a blue curtain in my inventory. every time i apply the upgrade to my bamboo hut it goes on but when i log back into the game it is back in my inventory and the bamboo hut has not upgraded.
i have logged in and out, refreshed, nothing makes any difference, it keeps returning to my inventory.
i am using the stand alone client. i have event tried it in the web browseer version, still wont work.
please advise.

The Bamboo Hut upgrade is for the Panda Egg. This is located on your Shipwreck Bay.

correct me if im wrong but i think the problem may be that the panda egg/bamboo hut is still counting down...it is on 79hrs now. do i have to wait for the counter to hit zero and the egg hatches or something happens....then i can apply the upgrade?

 

Hello upa70,

With all pets, there is a cooldown time. Once the cooldowntime has ended, you can harvest your egg. It then turns into the Pet. You will then be able to place the upgrade on the Bamboo Hut.

right. the faq wasnt very helpfull, just listed the upgrades but no info on how or when you can apply the upgrade. i shall wait for the egg to hatch.
