Best way to get a slime pit?

    Hi everyone!

    I don't know if this is the right forum, so please forgive me if I goofed and put it where it doesn't belong.

    What is the best/easiest way to get a slime pit? I've read the Moonlight Mania FAQ, and it seems like it's very labor intensive and would take several months to grow enough items. Am I reading things wrong, or is there a shortcut I didn't see? (I'm really hoping there is, since getting slime monsters is a Mushroom Forest I quest.)
