Breeding confusion

I am a level 35. I have looked at the animal forums and the coloured animal forums and I am still somewhat confused/unsure of the process. I'm sorry if there was a thread out there that I missed but I did look.

I have basic coops/rabbit hutches. I have a stock of both animals. As I understand it, in order to get roasters, silkies, cocoa's, etc., I need to breed. In the case of chickens, is the 1st coop that will allow breeding the Yellow 1 Coop? I know I will need power feed.

What is the difference between a breeding pasture and a pen? Is a breeding pasture one of the coloured coops/hutches? (the ones with the hearts on the side?)

If so, if I purchase a Yellow 1 Coop, does it overlay, my basic chicken coop?

I ask, because I don't want to spend CC's/BB's and not be able to use them only to have them sit in inventory.

To breed, you use the breeding pasture.

It is the one with the hearts in the left side menu where you find the field sizes.


Yellow, Orange, Red and Pink upgrades have nothing to do with breeding. Upgrades overlay the regular pen but you don't "stack" them. Just use one upgrade. If you wish to change the level of upgrade, delete the pen with the current upgrade and then place the basic pen and put the new upgrade over it.
Upgrades shorten the time, increase the EP and/or increase the number of base animals raised in the pen.

The Breeding FAQ can be difficult to find.

An animal pen (eg chicken roost) will make another animal (chicken). A breeding pasture will give a higher level of that animal (eg roaster, etc). The breeding pen can be found here:

The upgraded animal pens can decrease the time, produce more than one animal or give you more EP than a basic animal pen can. All animal pen upgrades need to be placed on a base pen.

Some upgraded animal pens can be won on some of the levels of the Restaurant Farmers Society Quest.

Several animals (goat, pig and horse) jumbo pens can be won on San Gigantica Express. They will make a Level 1 or 2 rather than the base animal.

I had previously read the Breeding FAQ, several times in fact, but still couldn't figure it out. What is the cost of a breeding pasture? When I clicked on the heart that opened, it opened a new "building." Does that overlay any existing Coop? What size Plot do I need and other then the Park, can I put it in any of my fields, ie. main farm, magical glade or the green meadow?

 

Yes you can put it anywhere BUT the park .... its 2 by 3 size from memory ... no you don't have to buy it as it will just pop up when you click the heart ... you just need to clear any farm land plots to lay it down .... you do need power feed 2 of them to breed ... 4 normal animals ..... or 4 coloured animals to progress in colours ...... you put in 4 animals it normally gives 1 coloured animal in return .... you can use the pheromones to speed up the breeding process but not 100% needed ..... Yes, it does. When I made level 21, the video came up, but I accidentally closed it and couldn't find it again. I now just found it and that along with the replies to my questions have cleared up all confusion. Thank you every one for your assistance. I could never have figured it out without all of your help. I think the moderator can close the thread now. Hopefully, I won't have anymore questions.
