breeding

hi
am wondering if there is any purpose to breeding other than FS quests. with greenhouse there is improvement to plants. anything like that with animals? I found info on HOW to breed but not about REASON for breeding. strategic thinking would be different.

Hi Vere - if you don't want to breed for quests, you can breed in order to build colored upgrades to animal pens/workshops. Orange pens give you 2 animals using only 1 feed, red pens give 2 animals but is faster than orange pens and pink pens give 3 animals. It helps save on space and feed. Hope this helps.

 

You can also breed to sell the higher level breeding animals to make CCs.

You can breed to participate in the events, complete some Farmer's Society Breeding Quests, sell the coloured animals on the Market or make Coloured Upgrades.

I may seem slow but I only started right before the event so even though my level seems like I should know a few things-actual real playing is only a few days. sooo.. I don't understand how breeding helps me build upgrades. is it for the paint you get from turkeys? i'm guessing there's more lol. tks

 

To build Coloured pens/workshops, you need Breeding animals. They are built in the City Workshop along with other Workshops.
Here is the FAQ which will link you to each animal that can be bred to read up on those animals.

tks, shooger.sweet. are breeding animals different from the regular animals in our pens? also, if I understand correctly, I can buy or build these upgrades? I guess the question is - are there upgrades that can only be gotten by building or can all upgrades be purchased? don't have enough tools yet to build Anything with but I am trying to plan ahead. tks

 

Yellow and Orange upgraded pens can be purchased in the Animal Category of the shopping basket for BB's. Red/Pink/Neon upgrades can only be built. Workshop upgrades can only be built.
They produce the same animals/products that basic ones do, the only difference can be that the time is reduced/you earn more EP/they give extra animals.
For instance, an Orange chicken coop will give you 2 chickens whereas the basic only gives 1 chicken.
You can trade/gift coloured pens/workshops during Gift & Trade events.
