Buffs & Buff Givers

How do I know when buffs as prizes on the farmwheel or as won in an event, are activated immediately or goes to my barn? Can I control this important fact before I make a draw on the wheel or pay for an event reward?
I think prizes activated immediately are next to worthless if you activate them randomly, perhaps nearly always anyway. I forgot to "win" the daily gift one day and therefore lost a long unbroken row of daily login, only because I wanted to use it when it gave something as reward and not only one more day's login marked. Now there are some harvest rewards in the events which are hard to find any information about in that matter.

Buffs won on the Farmwheel and From Fuzzles are activated immediately. If a buff item is automatically activated when won in an event, it will be announced in the FAQ.
Some of the newer buffs you see and also can be won through the Crate O' Buffs can be found here. These buffs require a crafting slot, so you will find them in your consumable inventory.
